Chapter 230: 80
Hestia on the other hand frowned as she heard I still had plans to do other crazy things and fight more bosses that would inevitably do their best to kill me and by extension her Bell. "Uhh, can't you spend a couple of days upgrading your gear or something?" She asked awkwardly and honestly, I could.
As the killing of the Eater of Worlds had given me the mental schematics for making the Goblin Tinker's workbench which would allow me to reforge to make weapons have better modifiers for being a mediocre craftsman. While also allowing to combine more accessories together.
But I shook my head as although Hestia's idea would allow us to gain a bit more power. But with my Meteor armor even with the Calamity mod installed I had one of if not the best defensive armors in the game of Terraria while still being in prehard mode. And any weapons I could spend literal weeks grinding to make and perfect, wouldn't matter worth a damn as once I got materials from Freya's adventurer's that went to the Dragon Vase for me in the Dungeon once they got back with the materials, I could make Hell themed weapons and armor.
"No Hestia, as I said I still have two last bosses to kill to get some more materials and then I can take a break to digest all my gains... If it goes well, we could literally get this all done today after we run outside of Orario to deal with this." I said to persuade her, and the goddess of the Hearth frowned as she knew she I was right in these battles not taking long and that she was actually stalling us from just getting it over with.
Finally, Hestia sighed and while ruefully smiling she poked my chest with her finger. "You all be careful then." She said as she looked between me and Bell before she focused on Filvis. "And I am counting you Filvis to make sure Jake doesn't do anything too stupid... Bell is unlucky and gets dragged into nonsense, but it seems Jake just dives face first into trouble!" Hestia said stabbing my meteor armor covered chest. And just ignored the heat coming off from the armor as she was a goddess of the hearth and laughed at such a thing.
"Alright alright Hestia." I said dryly as I flicked her head making her yelp. "We are going now... If we are lucky the whole earthquake in the dungeon will keep the guilds scouts from bugging us to much when we leave Orario." I said as I grabbed Bell and began pulling her along with me as Filvis joined behind me at a quick pace as I sought to avoid Hestia's smothering gaze.
So, having escaped Hestia's bugging, we quickly made our way across Orario and rather than dealing with the Guild and by extension Orario's obsession in keeping adventurers within the city due to the damage we can cause as we wander the world. We instead used our grappling hooks to simply zip over the massive wall of Orario that was partially built by the gods hands like the Tower of Babel was.
"If Evilus, had these grappling hooks they would be far more of an issue." Filvis muttered after I set her down on the ground while keeping from saying anything as that was obviously a sensitive topic.
"Alright so here is how this is going to go. We are going to fight a massive flying brain that will use illusions and like the Eye boss did, it will summon a lot of smaller minion versions of itself. But rather than the Eye boss, we need to actually focus on those miniature versions of it as those mini versions are what fuels its powerful illusions that will allow it to phase through our attacks and what not." I explained.
While I was still talking, I also activated my Darkened Heart to summon the mini-Eater of Worlds and fueled them up with my mana to make them grow to the sizes of decent sized houses so we could use them as platforms to jump and grapple onto, while also mentally activating all my other accessories effects to strengthen myself.
"I am resistant to illusions." Filvis spoke while Bell nodded, and I remembered how her bullshit 'I love/simp over you so much that other people's mind control doesn't work on my love/obsession over you.' skill worked.
"Well, I am not, so be careful if I start hallucinating..." I said frowning as my Terrarian skill protected me from Charming and other Danmachi based debuffs but it seemed that I was still game to Terraria debuffs.
Sure, in Terraria, the Brain of Cthulhu would only make you hallucinate and see other versions of the boss itself, but God knows if that was the case here.
The worst thing about Fargo's upgrades to the bosses was that all the bosses had crazy debuffs that only the special accessory item you get after killing the boss like the Oscillating Eye from the, The eye of Cthulhu or the Darkened Hear from the Eater of Worlds will protect me from the debuffs those bosses could give us.
Honestly, the Eye of Cthulhu's Berserker debuff that would drive people and whatever it hits into insanity might have been why the dungeon spawned the Juggernaut as it was so pissed at the Terraria monsters beyond the apparent divinity use.
I then took out the large brain that would summon the Brain of Cthulhu and even more so than the summon for the Eye of Cthulhu, the girls cringed at the sight of it. "One of you poke the brain... I want to see if you girls can summon a boss or if only, I can do it." I said seriously and the girls looked at me like I asked them to eat slugs.
"No," Filvis said bluntly.
"If you make me touch that, I will not hug or kiss you ever again, Jake!" Bell said 'fiercely' as she hid behind Filvis shamelessly making me slouch in defeat.
'I need to try to meet Welf and become bro's with him... Or hell just hang out with Gareth as he is pretty chill and relaxed.' I thought despondently as I shook my head and cleared my head as I handed out some Potions of Iron to increase our defense for the next six hours.
"Alright so be careful of the illusions!" I warned them one final time as I poked my finger into the gooey flesh of the Brain of Cthulhu summon and at the sounds of the wet flesh pushing aside from my finger, I could see the girls shuddering in disgust just affirming my desire for bros that won't squick out as some of the future bosses will be completely nasty in all senses of the word.
The Brain of Cthulhu did not spawn with a shriek of fury nor with a glorious cry of battle. No, as it spawned in, I saw that it was already in its second phase with its purple fleshy brain matter pulled inwards in the middle to expose the eyes and purple gem that made up its core.
"Terrarian..." A voice whispered into my mind and my vision went black as the Brain of Cthulhu split into dozens of copies that each shot magical blasts and created large lances of solid blood from the ground that pushed Bell and Filvis away from me.
Terrible lances of pain filled my head as the surrounding light greatly brightened and I saw how thick dense strings of what looked like light were stuck into the purple pulsating flesh and gems studded into the Brain of Cthulhu with the strings seemingly going all the way into the sky.
Then that powerful female voice that echoed with power and harsh divine might filled my ears again. "The Terrarian... Working with mortals so much is pathetic. Your predecessors did not and they slayed gods alone." The voice spoke and I realized as I could barely see out of my eyes at both the mental pain of whatever was assailing me and the harsh light holding the Brain of Cthulhu still, that Filvis and Bell were just frozen in place with their bodies twitching ever so slightly in place like they were in some kind of illusion.
Once again, the voice spoke to me and this time, I could tell the voice was at the end of its patience as she spoke boredly, and my lips twitched into a wry smile as I could honestly care less about what she said. "As the Empress of Light, I refuse to look down upon the Warrior who is supposed to lay low an entire Pantheon of gods. I refuse to be a footnote in your story whether you succeed with your fellow mortals and slay all and become gods, or simply die and be forgotten... I refuse, so know this Terrarian, I this Empress shall watch your actions from here on, and your next first great kills must be done alone lest I refuse to serve you after you defeat me and my fellow royal the Queen Slime."
I honestly couldn't give a shit less about Empress of Light 'serving' me in this situation as I very much preferred to kill the massive Terraria scary bosses with the help of powerful mages and strong adventures.
But seemingly in an understanding of my thoughts, the light filling the clearing we were fighting the Brain of Cthulhu within further brightened until right directly in front of me formed a solid pillar of light, and out of it staggered out an almost completely human woman with only large multicolored wings behind her. "You are nowhere near ready to summon me so this is being done on my own power, and it's difficult to shove down the instinctive desire to slay you where you stand to say the least..." She spoke while straightening up and her cold rainbow-shifting eyes stared into my own.
"Few will match you in might should you succeed in killing the Wall of Flesh and only should you arm and armor them fully in the weapons you craft and obtain, would any be able to stand beside you at all. As they can only wear a single Great Soul item without a Terrarian's soul to defend against the stress the items place on the soul." She explained and I understood that the Soul items were supposed to mean being the very powerful Fargo's Souls items I got from killing bosses.
"Once you get past the Moonlord and have to kill more powerful gods what then Jake Barris?" She whispered as she suddenly drew close and being so close, I could see her skin was all but clear of any imperfections and I truly was reminded of how the Empress of Light was a goddess above even the Moonlord.
"Do not disappoint me and yourself." She finished and with a crack of lightning or plasma arcing into the surroundings she disappeared in an eye-gouging bright light and then time all but resumed as the light strings binding the Brain of Cthulhu broke apart and the girls kept running towards it while my headache dulled down to nothingness.
"Gurgle!" The Brain of Cthulhu rumbled wrathfully honestly like a Nurgle Demon as it dived down towards me while ignoring the girls that sliced into the massive brain monster with their swords.
With a shout, I slashed my own oversized Sword of Grass across the full form of the Brain of Cthulhu while using my grappling hook to basically use myself as a Yo-Yo on a string and its body as the core, as my grappling hook's chains wrapped around the body and pulled me around the body so my sword could slice across it and fill it with the potent toxins that filled the sword.
After slashing the Brain of Cthulhu with my sword I disengaged my grappling hook and with my momentum as I was wrapping around the boss I was sent flying across the air flipping through the air until I saw green beneath me from the tree's beneath me so I shot my grappling hook and with a groan, I attached to something and the grappling hook drew me towards it but the sudden stop in the air made my chest hurt while thankfully my armor helped prop of my neck so I didn't get further whiplash.
"At the end of illusion, the spirit returns - forming an unbreakable bond, Einsel!" Filvis quickly chanted and as I skidded across the ground while landing, I saw a clone form beside Filvis armed with her staff but instead of Filvis's normal wine-red eyes, I saw this clone had bright almost sky-blue eyes. Then together in unison, the elves held hands and then pointed their palms at the boss and started chanting in unison together in twin speech as the Brain of Cthulhu briefly focused on Bell to shoot lasers at her. "Sweep, holy staff of crushing evil Dio Thyrsos!"
Then from the palm of each of Filvis's hands came a ray of golden lightning that struck the Brain of Cthulhu creating a powerful explosion of arcing lightning, and the force of the explosion of lightning blasted the house-sized Brain of Cthulhu out of the air and sent it across the landscape gouging out a trench as the lightning arced across its body obviously causing it great distress and as I went to stab it with my Fiery Greatsword I cursed as I fell through the illusion of its form stabbing into the ground and as a fleshy tentacle whipped at me I dashed into it with my Sheild of Brain of Cthulhu creating an explosion of air escaping as a far larger and powerful object met with an almost unstoppable momentum from me using the dash from the shield.
"Boom." I whispered as I threw a stick of dynamite into the central eye hole in the center of the Brain of Cthulhu, and I grapple hooked away as the stick of dynamite exploded making the Brain of Cthulhu scream in agony as it lost like half its body mass with me hitting its weak point with the powerful explosion.
As I got away and I saw Bell shooting the boss with her own Magna Cannon blowing off handfuls of its flesh I saw Filvis take a deep breath and then chant again as she used her lightning spell again. ""Sweep, holy staff of crushing evil Dio Thyrsos!" This time she seemingly put more than double the Mind or mana into it compared to the last one as the missiles of golden lightning lit the Brain of Cthulhu and fully encased it in a storm of golden lightning that took a few seconds to dissipate and before it even did I heard the soft thumping of the red Brain of Cthulhu bags hitting the ground signaling the bosses death.
To say the least, when the girls opened up the Brain of Cthulhu bag after killing the boss, their faces twisted in disgust as the 'ore' or crafting material being Tissue Samples which were baseball-sized blobs of pulsating flesh was disgusting. And the Fargo's soul item for the boss being the Gutted Heart was also disgusting as it was a basketball-sized heart with lava-like veins running through it and constantly pulsating with the heart beating.
"Yeah... I rather keep the Slimy Sheild within me and not have that." Bell said with her face shuddering at the thought of having the still beating heart put inside her and likewise Filvis didn't want anything to do with the gutted heart nor the other fleshier Fargo's soul items that came from bosses.
"Uhm I would be happy with the Queen Bee stinger?" She offered blushing and I just shrugged as so long as she was willing to use something I didn't care.
I understood that even if they were badass warrior ladies, they were still girls at the end of the day. And girls inherently wouldn't like the idea of a still living eye that looks around to be pushed into their chest and merged into their soul.
The girls then gave me the drops they didn't want as I pushed the Gutted Heart next to the other Fargo soul's items in my soul so now as I fueled the mini-Eater of Worlds that flew beside me I also had small flying brains that were flying beside me that made the girls shudder at the sight of them.
"Alright girls, I think that's been enough fun for now, right?" I asked and the two girls nodded with Bell nodding much more enthusiastically as she was clearly getting low on Mind from overusing her Magna cannon.
Filvis and Bell then grabbed hold of me so I could teleport them back with Bell actually hugging me around my chest but Filvis being a lewd elf held my wrist and blushed at the minor skin contact. "Ok, Jake teleport us back! I need to talk to Hestia as well." Bell said happily and I smiled at her infectious cheer at having killed the boss, but I couldn't help the nagging feeling about how the girls just never saw or heard the Empress of Light saying anything.
Once I teleported the girls back, I stepped back from the Bell who pouted at being released from the hug and I looked to Filvis for a moment before nodding and I began speaking. "Girls I am going to be out for a couple of hours as I need to do a couple of things so don't cause any trouble." I said jokingly to Bell more than anything and she just rolled her eyes and then her expression lit up.
"Jake, can me and Filvis go into the dungeon or something I want to test some of your extra magic weapons in storage over there?" She asked and I shrugged as honestly, I didn't care.
"Go ahead just don't get in trouble and stick with Filvis," I said giving the elf a look and she nodded silently promising to take care of the white-haired albino lest she be tricked into some kind of alleyway with how adorable she could be.
Then once the girls left my bedroom I sighed as I organized my thoughts about this whole Empress of Light situation. 'Did I care? Should I even follow her words and put myself in more danger?' I thought before it struck me that to all those prior questions was a resounding 'Yes'. In the end I did care and although I didn't want to die obviously, I still wanted to grow stronger so I no longer had to fear Evilus coming to slap my head off my shoulder should they get bored. Or worse for my conscious, begin targeting my friends even more.
So with that settled, I looked to see how I could get stronger and the largest amount of strength I could realistically gain at this point was combining my Slimy Sheild, Agitating Lens, Queens Stinger and when I get it, Skeletron's Necromantic Brew into the Supreme Death Bringer Fairy Accessory that will combine all four accessories into a single one that's even stronger than all four of them should be due to all the bosses souls being merged together with Hell stone bars and a new mana source I will need to make called Deviating Energy.
With the Supreme Death Bringer Fairy and Hell stone armor. I think that I will almost be ready to fight the Wall of Flesh... So, if I want to get at Hell stone ingots I need to go to directly talk to someone I really didn't want to.
"Well, time to go see if Freya's adventures actually did go to the Dragon Vase and get me any materials," I muttered as I left my bedroom and after talking with Seshat and Beatrice for a bit and making out with the latter as she walked me out off the property.
While I was heading towards Freya's mansion I was also noting down how I could upgrade from my Magna cannon to a stronger magic weapon along with just more weapons in general depending on how much materials Freya's adventures managed to get me.
"Oh god, I just remembered I am going to have to do a bunch of fishing..." I cursed as my mind reminded me of the crafting recipes that required me to actually fish out crates and other things to get certain weapons and accessories.
"Well, this could be the perfect excuse to go on a good vacation as Hestia and the rest want to do," I muttered as I turned around the corner of the wealthy section of Orario I was in and saw the Freya's Familia mansion Folkvanger in the distance and standing guard in front of the gate was one of the levels five Gulliver brothers.
Gods how I hated midgets...
The five Gulliver brothers were all Pallums at level Five with them all even being quintuplets. And they were ornery little shits because they hated Finn Deime for taking the spotlight as the leading Pallum of Orario.
Hell, other than Ottar who was just a silent dude who only spoke when he had to, no one cared for or really even liked any of Freya's high-level adventurers as they were all completely assholes as they seemed to abandon all their social grace to devote themselves entirely to being a simp for Freya.
Thats why everyone loved the Loki Familia so much, they were all a cast of characters and except for Bete Loga, you could easily just sit down with any of the Loki Familia executives and just enjoy lunch with them as they were rather relaxed people and friendly if you weren't harming their interests.
But this... Midget was irritating me, to say the least with his attitude.
"For someone with such a big head, you would think that your head would bobble around when you walk up the stairs." The Gulliver brother wearing a mask snarked.
"With how fucking short you are, I am surprised you don't need a kick stool to climb the stairs for adults." I deadpanned and I could all but feel his flash of wrath aimed at me for basically calling him a racial slur by remarking about his height.
But as we reached the top of the stairs, I wanted to groan at who was sitting in an ornate chair in front of a highly decorated wooden door. A woman with light red hair down up in twin tails and wearing a more low cut and well-decorated nurse outfit. "Heith Velvet. I hope you have been well." I greeted her with a smile as I put on a more natural smile as Heith's face twisted at the sight of me before smoothing over as she looked to the Gulliver brother.
"Alfrigg. Did Lady Freya summon him?" She asked bluntly ignoring me and I heard the man snort in response, but I was more focused on how Heath's eyes looked dull and fucked up. As her voice was beyond dull and more like she was a machine.
"No. But you know Lady Freya told us to bring him and the white-haired one in if they visited." Alfrigg said before swiping his hand aside. "Now move aside doll." He ordered and Heath blinked before nodding as she moved aside and honestly, that dull stare was starting to freak me out.
'Was that soul stuff Seshat told me about her even worse than she guessed?' I thought as Seshat's words about the red-haired healer's soul being a twisted-up knot due to Freya's charm were underestimated and instead her soul was falling apart or something.
Either way, Heath moved out of the way from standing guard in front of the door and Alfrigg the eldest of the Gulliver brothers knocked on the door and then a moment a later a bell beside the door gently jingled five times in a row as Freya obviously pulled a string or something so she wouldn't have to shout to come in.
"Don't do anything stupid as Ottar is just down the hall and before you can even climb out of a window you will be dead!" Alfrigg warned me fiercely as he glared at me before he glanced at the bell that was inlaid above the door and blended in with the dark wood of the door making me realize that the five rings of the bell were meant to be a code from her, to only allow me into the room.
For a moment I feared that Freya would attempt to fry my brain with her charm before I shook that thought away as that wasn't in her style at all for her targets of interest.
The door silently swung open at Heath pushing the door and I walked into the highly posh room and saw a beautiful decent-sized bed and a large couch positioned in front of the large open glass doors that led out onto a balcony. But my gaze was drawn to the form lounging on the couch and I saw that she was wearing a scandalous outfit that was her almost torn-looking body glove outfit that was black and red with the edges of the outfit being red.
"Lady Freya." I greeted while focusing more on her face as I realized her exposed skin was a bit too distracting. Sure, Freya was a trouble-making thot, but no one would ever deny her status as one of the purely most beautiful women in the world and I was still a red-blooded male, so my gaze wandered a bit.
"Jake Barriss, Record Breaker, Summoner of Calamities, Captain of the rising Seshat Familia... You have already earned an interesting number of names in so little time, that even with my own interest in your path that I cannot seem to catch up with them Hehe." Freya daintily giggled as she crossed a leg over the other as I strode to one of the seats arrayed next to the couch and sat down in it.
"Oh, you could have just sat beside me?" Freya pouted and I smiled wryly at Freya's pout that made me actually pity her a bit but thankfully with my Terrarian Logic, I didn't have to worry about her charm.
"Lady Freya, has your adventures had any time to go down to the Dragon Vase to get the ores I asked for?" I asked trying to get straight to business and at that, Freya clicked her tongue in annoyance not necessarily at me but at her own situation apparently that she began to explain as she swirled her wine glass.
Freya eventually sighed before she threw me an apologetic smile and my heart sank as I realized I was going to have to make a trip to get those 'Hell' themed resources on my own. Or more specifically I was going to have to travel outside of Orario to that nearby volcano so I could get the materials I needed from within it.
I had no way to survive getting to the Dragon Vase in the fifty-ninth floor of the Dungeon as the monsters were too numerous and strong for me to push that deep even if I cheated and tunneled. I would still get killed by the army of dragons that filled the dragon vase even if I tunneled outside the dungeon and down to its floor. "Jake, I apologize but with Loki's Familia down doing their own expedition that had already been pushed back, and with Evilus raising their head up again to cause trouble, my Familia cannot delve down to the depths of the dungeon to retrieve those ores as they are all needed to protect Orario," Freya explained gently and I nodded in understanding.
Sure, it was inconvenient but super terrorists were more important than my desire for some super-heated materials. It just meant I needed to get my own at the volcano that even Asfi Al Andromeda, the captain of the Hermes Familia went to get the materials needed to make her bombs that almost her entire fighting style revolved around.
"Then I apologize for my intrusion I will-" Before I could stand up Freya coughed raising an eyebrow as she looked at me with an unreadable emotion as she stared into my eyes and I likewise met her lavender eyes.
"Jake. Why don't you share lunch with me." She offered smiling softly with true welcoming care in her voice as she continued. "I would like to have some words with you. I would adore hearing about your adventures and how you came to be so... Strong and with such a vibrant soul to match." She finished huskily and I smiled wryly as her lavender eyes almost pinned me to the couch while I considered if I could teleport home and get Bell and the rest of the girls out of Orario before Freya can lose her shit at me ghosting her.
But then I just mentally shrugged as to what could go wrong with just having lunch.
The lunch between me and Freya was brought to me by Ottar himself with the meal itself being a whole selection of dishes that were fit for the most powerful goddess in Orario and I was welcome to eat at my will.
For a few minutes as Freya and I ate, we were silent. She would occasionally glance up at me with wonder and delight that seemed to change slightly at every glance she took at me and I just frankly enjoyed the meal that even world leaders in my old life couldn't scoff at.
But the delightful meal and silence were broken as Freya elegantly set down the fork she was using and then crossed her hands and placed them on the table as she spoke bluntly. "So, Jake, I can see partly see the emotions you feel from your soul, and I have to ask how you feel about me in particular as your soul is a kaleidoscope of things going on to say nothing of the items of power that are attached to your soul and look at me threateningly."
At Freya's excessively blunt question, I didn't know how to reply honestly as she always seemed to be the type to work in the background and not go on the direct attack unless her interests were at risk.
Even as I smiled wryly at the thought of mini-Eater of Worlds flying around my soul protectively like a dog would encircle their master to defend him I took a moment to respond to Freya. "What do I think of you... I have thoughts about you, not many too kind, the type of woman you are, the way you handle your Familia is not to my taste... And frankly, your obsessives love that is like a typhoon that comes and wrecks everything before passing on, is the biggest detraction you have." I responded equally bluntly.
Freya didn't speak or respond to my opinion of her for a solid minute and she raised a hand that was previously clasped to swirl her crystal wine glass before she took a drink of it.
"So, you see me as the Whore of Babylon? You see me as a loose woman who sleeps with everything with a pulse while also destroying people's lives as I pressure them and then move on when I get bored?" She asked wryly as she gently set her drink on the table and her lavender eyes no longer looked at her food and I could literally feel her passive divine charm as she fully met my gaze with her full attention.
"Jake Bariss... I am old, I am a goddess beyond your comprehension, and if you desire to make that tiny ambition to be beyond a mortal achievable. You should consider quitting looking at people that are far above you in such a disgusting way." She warned me and I swallowed as Freya's Arcanum rose to the surface of her being as a warning.
"I am the goddess Freya, beauty magic war, and all warriors themselves are my domain... I slept with who I desired, who were worthy of touching my flesh and you as a grand warrior are any different?" She asked scoffing before she smiled sarcastically. "Jake, you as a record breaker are prime mating material... You can decry me as a slut but the first time you found an easy woman in a bar on the side of the Red-Light District what did you do?" She asked and I grimaced as I did just what Freya would do with her Charm.
I used my status as the Record Breaker, I used my talent, strength, and Seshat's mating mark to string along Beatrice as a live-in free-use maid. I honestly wasn't any different from Freya with her passive charm.
"Why are you not treating this like a game, like the rest of the gods do?" I softly asked as I looked at Freya up from my own plate after I pushed down the shame, I felt for treating Beatrice as I had.
But I could fix and repay her situation when I got home.
Freya sighed with her finger twirling across her glass of wine and without looking at me she responded. "Remember this, Jake Bariss. I am the goddess of love who embodies it in obsessive love." Her lavender purple eyes then snapped back up to me as she spoke softly while smiling sadly. "I have already fallen in love with you and with your soul that has exceeded anything I have seen in countless millennia of living I will never forget you; I will never move on from your soul... There will be no other work of ages to polish that can match the brilliance of your being." She whispered at the end that I could barely hear and honestly, I didn't think I was meant to.
"So as to why am I not treating you like a game like other gods and even Seshat does? That's because I want you to win. I want you to go beyond level ten and I was even willing to have Ottar snap one of my strongest adventurer's necks when they brought danger to you." Freya spoke before she gracefully stood up and in a single smooth motion that reminded me of how she was a war goddess she maneuvered across the table in that single motion to softly pin her hands on my rising shoulders as I went to pull my chair back and sit up.
While I stood up she whispered directly into my ears. "I am willing to give up my Familia and everything to help you succeed if you would accept me as I will never hamper you in any way."
"I will never again take another lover as none can match their souls and even the thought of laying with them makes me mentally and physically ill. It honestly feels like drinking the finest wine your entire life and then being introduced to the most gut-rotting paint thinner of a brew, to my body with my domains revolting at the idea of coupling with others." She spoke wryly with her Charm filled eyes stared at me with such desire that I had never seen it in anything except for the obsessive desire for my death from dungeon monsters, and as her hands with despiteful strength tried to keep me in my chair but I gently moved her out of the way so I could stand up.
"Lady Freya, you have given me... much to think about but I have duties in my Familia, and I must return home," I said respectfully as I tried to move back, and Freya took a deep breath as her hands slide down from my shoulders and down my chest before I took a step back as her hands went low.
"I see." Freya said smiling demurely before she nodded and looked to me with some actual concern. "I wish you the best on your trip to the Beol Mountains but beware as the mountains are inhabited by monsters that aren't limited to the floor they are supposed to be in within the dungeon." She warned me with actual concern.
"Thank you for the advice, Freya... I guess I will see you again soon." I said more to myself at the end as I knew with Evilus acting up that the Familia's were going to be called to meetings and such. But Freya's eyes at my words lit up with glee as she considered my words to mean I was going to come to visit her herself.
"Wait!" Freya called out as I took out my magic mirror and I paused for a second to look at Freya who looked honestly nervous before she spoke. "I want to do something for you... I know you don't want anything to do with me, but I will change. I will become that what will earn you desire, and I will have you whether it's one day or millennia from now as I won't give up." She said proudly and I wanted to just teleport before a thought crossed my mind and I decided fuck it.
"Kill Ishtar for being a sub-leader of Evilus tonight then," I said and she blinked with her head tilting to the side in confusion.
"That's it? That's nothing alright, I will do it tonight dear." She said cheerfully and before I could recover from the yandere cuteness she used a dainty finger to tilt the mirror to my face and then I was teleported back home.
After dealing with the usual vertigo from teleporting I just face-planted into my bed and screamed with said scream being swallowed and kept from spreading due to the thick pillow with an Undine cloth pillowcase to keep it cool. Was spending like a hundred thousand Valis on a bedspread extravagant? Yes, most certainly but when you go to sleep with someone else and didn't want to wake up in a pool of sweat having water spirit cloth solves all such issues.
"Ughhhhh!" I groaned rolling over onto my back and stared up into the ceiling windows that led into the false night sky above. "Why couldn't Freya just be an insane bitch that will make it easy to hate her." I moaned as I petulantly kicked my feed up and down on my bed in frustration.
I just wanted to get some materials and take advantage of her but now I feel sympathy and worse my dumbass decided to get her involved with the best girl Haruhime. Granted I wasn't obsessed with getting Haruhime in my Familia due to my own strength growing so fast and apparently, I was needing to fight bosses on my own lest I face issues from the sentient bosses themselves... But still, Haruhime was the best girl in Danmachi and I feel like I should have taken care of her issues myself if I was going to drag her into my Familia and thus my mess.
"Fuck it. What's done is done. I just need to make the best of it." I grimaced as I rolled to my feet and took a deep breath and then I grinned as I realized that I was actually going to be the one to bring someone into the Familia on purpose. And if Seshat gives me shit for dragging in my own waifu stray off the streets, well then she could suck it up.
With the lovely petty thought in my head, I literally skipped out of my room all but gliding out of my room and also somewhat Bell's room when she didn't want to read at night on her own.
"How did the meeting with that Freya go?" Hestia asked me as I came into the lobby of our shop and I shrugged as it could have gone better and a lot worse but either way I was torn on what to think of Freya right now.
"Only got molested by her a little bit before I could teleport and flee... But either way, I am alright, though unfortunately with Evilus's actions, they cannot go into the dungeon to get the materials I need. So, I will need to go to the Beol Mountains to get the materials I need and might as well also pick up a bunch of extra ores and stuff that will be more difficult to get in the dungeon." I announced as I picked up some potions we had to put in my inventory.
"Huh, figures she flaked," Seshat remarked lazily as she lounged in her large throne couch thing that overlooked the shop. "So, you going to begin heading over there or do you have some kind of plan to get out of Orario without Evilus following your every move?"
I nodded grinning as I held up a Deathbringer pickaxe that I made from the Eater of Worlds drops. "Yup, I am going to just dig under the walls of Orario and go a couple miles before I hit the forests that surround the mountain range. Anyway, Beatrice, I got a few hours before I need to do some stuff would you like to go on a date or something?" I asked nicely and the cow beastkin smiled demurely as she nodded gratefully at me paying her attention.
"I would like that... In fact, I can quickly make some really nice grilled cheese sandwiches with some homemade cheese I made, and seeing as you have things to do later let's just do a little picnic in that Gazebo." Beatrice said gently and for a moment my mouth twitched at the mention of 'homemade' cheese...
Beatrice was a cow beastkin and funny enough here in anime land that translated to cow beastkin lactating at all times due to evolution over millennia made the cow beastkin women into the preeminent child caregivers with their voluptuous frames and very demure and soft personalities.
Those very qualities in this monster-infested world made it so settlements even with many races within them would focus on cow beastkin women due to them being universal child caregivers and thus even with monsters everywhere they survived more often than not due to other races loving those features and giving their lives for the milkmaids to survive a monster attack.
So, when she said 'homemade' cheese I was a little leery of it actually being made with her breast milk. Though that would require that she somehow managed to hide her breast milk from Seshat who was seemingly able to sniff it out wherever she stored it as the cat goddess would drink it all without shame.

A couple of minutes later I was relaxing with Beatrice in the Gazebo I previously made and for good or ill the cheese used in the grilled cheese was not actually her breast milk. "So how has your Falna progress been going?" I asked and she smiled as she wiped her hands of any grease that came from the sandwiches on a wet towel.
"Oh, I have gotten like thirty points in all my stats except for magic over the last few weeks. I got up to fifty points with magic due to always using one of your magic weapons to light the wood used in the smoker and wood-fired cook stove." Beatrice said giggling as she covered her face at my wry face at her 'terrible' growth.
I typically got a hundred and fifty stat points spread out across my Falna in a single day within the dungeon let alone if I was fighting a bunch of boss monsters from my summon items. But she was basically making under like ten stat points a day and that was actually insanely good due to the fact that she wasn't fighting at all.
"You will get there someday Beatrice," I said patting her on her head between her cow horns making her giggle softly. "I believe you will get some kind of skill or development ability based on cooking and when you do I want to be the first one to try your awesome magical cooking." I said softly before dipping in to kiss her on her forehead.
"I may not be the most attentive to you, due to your interests being more homely and my own being just running around getting into trouble." I paused as I sighed and pulled Beatrice into my arms. "But I do care about you so just make sure to remind me to get my head out of the Dungeon game," I said and Beatrice nodded more seriously and then she wrapped her arms around my head and pulled my head into her chest so my face was fully smushed into her exposed cleavage and I could barely hear her heartbeat with how large her breasts were.
"Alright, Jake. Just don't take back those words if I get needy." Beatrice said gently as she snuggled into me, so my face was pressed into her chest while she leaned against my shoulders and that's how we spent the next hour just enjoying soft words with each other until the sun went down and I sent her back inside as I knew Freya was going to start the event soon.
Half an hour later after the sun went down, I watched the Red-Light District's central tower being Ishtar's domain, be smote with a series of lightning bolts and I dove into the red light district knowing that Freya was making her mark probably using my information about how Ishtar was a member of Evilus to make an example out of her.
But I needed to try to find Haruhime before Freya did as you never know if those Freya simps would 'accidentally' kill her or something.
Blood and gore filled the red light district as Evilus took Freya's invasion inside as a challenge and thus the Red Light District of Orario became a charnel house of slaughter.
Freya's many adventures all seemingly at level three at minimum slaughtered Evilus agents clad in white cloaks while higher-ranking Evilus members killed civilians and the lower-leveled adventures that fought for their lives to just get the hell out of the Red Light District.
Freya's gaze was slitted with displeasure, distaste, and fear at seeing her adventures cut down Evilus and amazons alike, with the source of these feelings standing before her... No, she didn't feel displeasure, she felt true fear for Orario itself, at the sight in front of her.
"The Silence... How are you still alive?" Freya spoke as her face curdled not only at the bonfire of the ridiculously powerful soul in front of her but just how that soul was seemingly twisted by its prior sickness and tainted by whatever had brought the most feared killer of the last war with Evilus back to life.
"Who said I am alive?" Alifa asked softly as her closed eyes looked at where Freya was. "Isn't this world just a hell of never-ending suffering? Hmph even in death I live eternally to be in agony it seems." Alfia muttered as she sighed before she seemingly looked past Freya and towards the Tower of Babel that sealed the dungeon. Alfia sighed shaking her silver hair that crossed over her voluptuous frame that was covered in a revealing dress.
"Things are coming to the fore and although our desire to push you all to become the greatest heroes has failed with only Ottar pushing himself to match our talent... It's not enough." Alfia spoke uncaringly as she looked at the Boaz who was standing in front of his goddess protectively.
"Ottar. You can tell can't you?" Alfia asked softly and Ottar snorted with steam coming through his nose as his powerful body tensed with the ground beneath his feet shattering at the force pushing on it.
"You are stronger than me... No, you are just much stronger than you were previously." Ottar grunted out as with a loud rasping noise he unstrapped his large sword swords and wielded them in his hands.
"Correct hmph, it seems you aren't just a muscle head like Zald was," Alfia said dismissively before smiling as she looked up at the stars. "I wonder how Bell is doing?" She whispered before looking back to Ottar. "Anyway, you have disappointed me for not leveling up for almost a decade so die Ottar. Gospel!" Alfia whispered and a semi-invisible sound wave was born that pushed toward Ottar, Freya, and the other high-level Freya Familia adventures that were hurriedly trying to dodge with Ottar carrying Freya as he charged to the side as the sound wave obliterated all in its path.
The sound wave Alfia sent out at the Freya Familia cut a ditch more than five meters deep and ten meters wide into the ground as it carved a straight path for more than a hundred meters turning all that it touched into dust or wet debris depending if it was material or the hapless flesh that was in the way of the soundwave.
"Take Lady Freya!" Ottar roared as he tossed Freya into the air towards one of the Gulliver brothers that were priorly in the back of the procession to keep people from attacking their lady from the flank. So they had more time to use their super strength and speed to get away from the coming sound wave.
Then as Freya passed out of the range of the sound wave Ottar, Hedin, and Hogni met with the sound wave Ottar brought down his dual swords down it with a roar and likewise, Hedin and Hogni met the sound wave with their magic.
"It's still not enough," Alfia muttered as the green-tinged soundwave gained power, and with a shattering noise, Ottar's dual almost fish-hooked swords shattered like a mirror sending shards of ultra-hard adamantine into the large man's chest as shrapnel but it wasn't over as Alfia whispered. "Lugio." And then the sound wave's brightness increased and then exploded violently.
"So you came to destroy Orario Aflia The Silence!?" Freya demanded to know furiously as she watched Ottar stubbornly climb to his feet despite his chest armor being shattered and large gashes being torn across his body.
Alfia tilted her head to the side as her gloved hands creased into a fist as she spoke slowly. "I don't like shouting... But no, Zald and I gave our lives to better Orario, but you all have rested upon your laurels and have done little since then. I have decided to claw my way out of my grave to do it myself... But the sight of Ottar is an eyesore with how he has not leveled up despite him having stats at all S rank at level seven." Alfia snarled at the end as she stomped towards Ottar who held up his fists unwilling to go down without a fight.
"I will send him to level up then!" Freya said hurriedly as she caught the crux of the issue Alfia that was glowing and clearly about to send another sound wave that would kill Ottar paused as she looked at Freya in interest so the goddess of beauty continued. "I will send him a pilgrimage and he will level up or die. I swear by my name of Freya as I have held my end of the deal with Hera for all these years so you know my word is good." She offered and Alfia's hands that were at her sides pulled up to softly clap in front of her chest as she smiled at the goddess with her eyes still closed having never found the Freya Familia worth looking at.
Freya didn't even bother attempting to charm Alfia due to her ridiculous willpower that exceeded gods own willpower as she knew the moment her purple eyes glowed with her charm, she knew without a doubt that Alfia would kill her regardless of any curse she could lay upon her from Tenkai for the killing of her mortal form.
"You hear that Ottar... Go save a kingdom from a monster tide or something, and maybe you will be worthy of leveling up. But should I see you in Orario without leveling up I will kill you where you stand for disappointing me for the third and last time." Alfia said uncaringly to the plight of the Freya adventurers who was attempting to heal Hedin and Hogin that had their arms and most of their body mangled by the exploding sound wave previously.
Then Aflia turned around and walked into the darkness of a nearby alleyway leaving Freya's adventurers fearful of the future due to a stronger Alfia having made a return and more importantly not looking to commit elaborate suicide again.
For a moment there was a harsh silence in the street where Freya's executives stood but with a snarl, the goddess of beauty looked to the five Gulliver brothers who were still unharmed. "Kill Ishtar's adventures and drag her to me by the end of tonight now go!" She ordered with her fingernails biting into her hands so hard that her hands bled crimson divine ichor onto the street.
Then Freya turned around with Hedin and Hogni who were mostly healed by Heath Velvet guarding her as she made her way back to the Tower of Babel while Ottar silently and with great purpose walked out of Orario to find his fortunes in order to save his goddess from the Silence's displeasure.
