The Strongest Eriri in History

Chapter 40: Adventurers' Guild

Eriri and Arifureta descended onto the bustling main street of the travel hub city, Horaud, landing lightly beyond its gates. Holding hands tightly, they stood on the cobblestone road, their school uniforms starkly contrasting with the surrounding people clad in armor or magical robes.

In this world, many people have jobs that allow them to fly, so their descent from the sky did not surprise the crowd on the street. However, their appearance caused a great stir, drawing everyone's gaze toward them. Admirers murmured in awe and enchantment.

Women in the crowd admired Eriri and Arifureta's beauty without a hint of jealousy, sighing with warm appreciation, completely captivated by them.

On the other hand, some bold male adventurers and merchants stared at Eriri and Arifureta with lustful eyes, eager to approach them but hesitated, holding each other back, each seeking the right opportunity.

Ignoring the crowd's curious glances, Eriri led Arifureta down the street, casually choosing a direction to stroll.

Shopping was about wandering, seeing what interests you, and spending money on what catches your eye. Since they had acquired a large amount of gold in the workshop with the artifacts, they didn't need any other means to obtain money.

Because Horaud is mainly inhabited by adventurers, mercenaries, and soldiers, the shops primarily sell goods catering to them. Weapon, armor, and potion shops were everywhere, along with stores selling local specialties and everyday items. Most street vendors sold snacks and prepared foods to satisfy hunger.

As Eriri and Arifureta enjoyed their shopping, a voice suddenly called out from behind, "Hey, beautiful ladies, mind if I join you? I can cover all your expenses!"

A man in luxurious robes, with a somewhat frivolous but reasonably handsome appearance, approached them, his eyes filled with desire as he gazed at Eriri and Arifureta.

However, the two paid him no mind, not even sparing him a glance as they continued walking leisurely ahead.

The man stood frozen, his face alternating between red and blue. Taking a deep breath, he swallowed his anger and caught up with them, saying, "Ladies, won't you give me a chance? I'm a gold-ranked adventurer." He reached out, intending to place a hand on Eriri's shoulder.

To the man, as a top-ranked adventurer, women usually flocked to him, so he believed he was honoring them by approaching.

But before his hand could touch Eriri, an invisible force from behind her slammed into him, sending him flying at high speed into the nearby hillside. He embedded in the rock, blood oozing from the human-shaped indentation, leaving his life or death uncertain.

Eriri continued smiling, seemingly unperturbed, holding Arifureta's hand and walking ahead.

Those who witnessed the scene were terrified, their previous intentions to approach withdrawn. They instinctively moved away, not daring to overstep.

...

After wandering a bit, Eriri and Arifureta arrived in front of a building marked with the Adventurers Guild sign.

In another world, an Adventurers Guild is a staple feature in most fantasy worlds. Driven by curiosity, Eriri and Arifureta decided to take a look inside to see what the guild was like in this world.

The guild's door was made of metal, and as it opened, the sound of metal clashing resonated inside, acting like a doorbell to alert those inside of newcomers.

Inside, the walls and floor of the hall bore marks of damage or rough repairs, with dirt or other stains giving an unclean impression. This greatly disappointed Eriri, who had expected the guild's interior to be grandly decorated, but instead found it in a state of disrepair.

Directly opposite the door was the Adventurers Guild's counter, while to the left was a dining area filled with idle adventurers, drinking themselves drunk even in broad daylight.

The second floor also had dining tables and was much tidier than the first, yet few chose to dine there.

The aura emanating from the adventurers on the second floor suggested they were significantly stronger than those on the first, possibly reflecting a class distinction where only the strong could enjoy better environments.

When Eriri and Arifureta entered, everyone's eyes instantly locked on them, stunned and captivated by their beauty. But most quickly averted their gaze, as if remembering something, not daring to stare openly.

Only a few drunken adventurers continued to leer at Eriri and Arifureta, seemingly emboldened by alcohol, until other adventurers pulled them aside, whispering in their ears, making them sober up and retreat in fear.

"Hmph!" Eriri snorted at the now-quiet adventurers.

At the sound, those who had leered at them suddenly convulsed, pain etched on their faces. They spat out blood, collapsing weakly, looking like they'd need months to recover.

Through the adventurers' conversations, Eriri understood why their attitudes had changed so quickly.

In the time they had been shopping, word of Eriri and Arifureta had spread throughout Horaud.

The town now knew these two stunning girls were not to be trifled with. Their power was terrifying; with a casual strike, they had left a gold-ranked adventurer for dead.
