The Otherworldly Mercenary

Chapter 35: Ch 34 - Thor and Loki

In the other part of the castle, Frigga was chatting with her son, Loki, they were discussing topics of magic.

"What happened, Loki? You seem down." Frigga caressed her son's head and asked gently as she saw him frowning from time to time.

Loki realized that his weird behavior was caught by his mother quickly shook his head. "It's nothing, Mother. It's just some random stuff."

Frigga was not angry or anxious and she gently caressed her son's cheek, her eyes filled with motherly love and care.

"All right. But if you want to share anything, then you can do it with me. You know we always love you."

Loki opened his mouth slightly before he bit his lower lip. He placed his hand over hers and felt her warmth as he smiled.

"I know,"

Frigga smiled and nodded her head. She wanted to chat with her son but was interrupted by her husband's voice. She paused in her spot and a look of panic flashed in her pupils.

Loki quickly noticed his mother's unusual behavior and quickly asked worriedly.

"Mother, what happened? Are you alright?"

Loki might had some differences with his father and brother but he was very close to his mother. He was not very happy with his father always putting his trust in his brother, Thor, and not in him.

That's why he always tried to play mischief to attract his father's attention and impress him.

But alas, his father, Odin never paid that much heed to him, focusing his attention on his elder son, Thor.

Loki was very displeased because of that and tried to harm Thor a few times.

But no matter how much he hated or was angry with his father and big brother, he loved his mother dearly.

Frigga did not have time to pay attention to Loki as she patted his hand and said urgently.

"Forgive me, son. But I have to go. Your father needs me now!"

She then jumped to her feet and walked out in large steps, waiting to return to her husband's side as soon as possible.

Loki could not help but furrow his brows as he could read between the lines and reached the conclusion that something big must have happened.

Aside from that nothing else would make his mother so anxious.

Frigga was a calm, gentle, and wise queen who could handle many difficult situations with ease.

So, for something to make her so anxious and scared, it must be something significant, something that could cause chaos.

'Hmm... it seems there is something happening in the Nine Major Realms. Let's go and check it out. Maybe, I can use it to gain some recognition from Father and get to the throne...'

A playful and mischievous smile appeared on his face as he slowly disappeared from his room, leaving a glittering glow behind.

Frigga unaware of her stupid son's actions and thoughts arrived in Odin's chamber and saw him frowning.

"What happened? Is she really here?" Frigga walked over and placed her hand on his shoulder, asking slowly.

Odin closed his one eye and nodded his head heavily. "Yes. I just felt her aura appearing in Asgard. She is here!... I cannot also contact Heimdall for some reason. I am afraid that..."

He did not finish his sentence, but Frigga realized it and sighed heavily. She knew her husband was implying that Heimdall had been killed by their daughter, Hela.

"I have sent Thor and others to see what happened to Heimdall. Let's just hope it is not that bad. If I fight with my daughter now, I might have to sleep for the next decade to recover." Odin spoke in a sad tone.

Frigga placed her hand on his chest and caressed it gently.

"Everything would be fine. I am here with you. Maybe, it is not that serious."

"Let's hope so," Odin spoke in a solemn tone.

On the other side, five figures approached the dome like structure built over the rainbow bridge.

In the lead was a handsome, tall, and fair-skinned young man with blue eyes and golden blond hair. He had a muscular physique and a height of over six feet. His blonde hair was tousled, giving him a rugged, yet heroic look. His facial features consisted of a strong jawline and prominent cheekbones. His blue eyes were piercing and expressive, conveying both determination and warmth. He was also sporting a short beard, enhancing his rugged charm.

He was wearing a combination of metal and leather armor that emphasized his warrior status. He was also supporting a flowing red cape that added a regal touch and enhanced his presence.

Last but not least was the intricately designed hammer in his hand.

Thor Odinson is the Asgardian God of Thunder and the eldest son of Odin and Frigga. He is raised by his father as a proud warrior and crown prince.

He was very conceited, arrogant, immature, and stubborn in nature. Not only that but he also had a bloodthirsty nature as he enjoyed the challenge of battle and combat. But nonetheless, he greatly cared for his loved ones and friends.

Among the group of five, the most eye-catching was definitely the young woman. Unlike other women, she had a rather heroic spirit about her, and she was dressed as a warrior.

Her name was Sif and she was Thor's childhood friend. She had long, dark hair, typically styled in loose waves or braids. She was wearing intricately designed Asgardian armor that consisted of a fitted breastplate, gauntlets, and thigh-high boots, all in shades of black, silver, and dark blue. She was wielding a sword in her right hand. She kept her pace with Thor who was physically stronger than her because of her strong, athletic build which she had attained after years-long training and experience as a warrior. She exudes confidence and strength in her posture and movements.

"Thor, calm down. We are already there. No need to be so angry." Sif tried to assure him.

But Thor was too hot-headed as he shouted angrily. "How can I calm down? How dare someone actually infiltrate the Asgard and even harm Heimdall?! It is straight challenging Odin's authority!! I swear on my pride that I will kill this person and take his head to my father with my hands."

Somewhere in the Asgard, inside a bar

Seph was drinking their unique beer cheerfully as he had never tasted something so good when he paused.

"What happened?" Hela caught his action and asked curiously.

"Nothing. I just think you really have a funny brother." Seph laughed and emptied the big glass in one breath.
