The Alpha's Rejected Omega

Isla was taken aback by the question. She wasn't too naive to not understand what Mira was implying. She had been too focused on forgetting Damon that she didn't realize that her period was late, very late. She felt her throat go dry and she suddenly wished for a huge jug of water to quench her thirst.

"I… I don't know," She stuttered, her voice barely above a whisper. " Why are you asking that?"

Mira held her Isla hand,her face softening. Her eyes were filled with concern and something more. "Isla, I know you're freaking out and you know where this is going" she began gently, "I think you're pregnant." 

The air suddenly felt heavy and suffocating as the words settled in. Isla's hand trembled violently as she tried to process the words that Mira had just uttered.

"What…pregnant?" She said in a cracked voice. "I can't be pregnant, it's not possible…"

Mira shook her head,a sad smile playing on her lips. " I'm sorry Isla, it's very possible. But I'll have to confirm it with some test, just to be certain"

Isla held on to the little hope that the test might confirm that she wasn't pregnant. Her mind raced with different thoughts, fear and the consequences of getting pregnant in a situation like this. How could she possibly be pregnant under this kind of circumstances? The thought of having a child never has never really crossed her mind.

"I'm not pregnant," she whispered,tears welling in her eyes. "I can't be, this can't be happening. No!" 

Mira raised her hands to her face, wiping her tears. " I know that you feel so overwhelmed right now but I want you to remember that I'm still here. Always have been and always will be with you. "

Isla nodded robotically. Mira pulled her in for a hug, rubbing her back as she let her cry out her heart.

Isla lay quietly on the bed, Mira's words echoing in her head. It's been confirmed that she was indeed pregnant. The thought of being pregnant made it difficult to breathe. She had wanted to continue her life quietly staying in the background of everyone's life. Instead,she finds out that she's pregnant for someone who has nothing to do with her.

She knew that Alpha Marcus would kill her before Damon gets to find out that she's pregnant. The thought of aborting the child crossed her mind but she buried it. She didn't want to think of doing that to the baby in her.

Mira was busy in the kitchen preparing a herbal tea,her back hunched over the kitchen table as she mixed the herbs together. The air was filled with the familiar clinking of jars and the rustling of dried herbs as she crushed them. The sound usually comforted her but right now,the sound annoyed her,it made her sick.

"Isla," Mira said gently, walking towards her with a mug of tea. "Drink this. You bumped your head really bad when you fell,it will help prevent headaches"

"Thank you" Isla whispered accepting the mug from her. The tea had a bittersweet taste which she liked. 

"I don't want to pressure you right now to make any decisions but you really have to make a decision very soon" Mira said,her back facing her.

Isla gulped down the liquid in her mouth. " What do you mean?"

Mira released a tired sigh before sitting in a chair close to the bed. "You understand that the baby in your womb is the Alpha's first child which automatically makes him the next alpha. If the pack finds out, I don't know how this will end" 

" Please can we keep this between us* Isla said immediately in a firm voice. "I don't want anyone to know about this…pregnancy. Not the pack and definitely not Damon. No one should know about this" 

Mira remained silent for a few seconds before she spoke. " I understand your reasons but I think it's better to address it now before it spirals out of control"

" Please Mira, I'll handle whatever is to come, please" Isla said hollowly. She had no idea what to do but letting Damon know what the result of there reckless night together was a terrible idea. He didn't want her as his mate so he'd not want a child from a weak Omega too.

Mira looked as though she was about to refute but she nodded reluctantly. "Okay child. I'll respect your decision,but I want you to think fast. You're no longer living for yourself alone anymore" 

Isla nodded dazedly,her hands unconsciously drifting to her stomach. The thought that a tiny life was growing inside of her made her feel so many kinds of emotions. She'll keep the baby,she finally had a reason to push through the horrible life she has.

Mira looked at the young girl on the bed, shaking her head. She remembers the little girl she had brought home years ago,she had grown to become a beautiful lady. She whispered a quiet prayer to the moon goddess to protect her.

In the shadows of the garden outside the kitchen, a figure stood quietly hidden by the vast trees of the garden. The figure had heard the entire conversation from Mira and Isla.

The news came as such a shock and was hard to digest. The alpha got an Omega pregnant when he was mated to another? This is a huge scandal which would result to enormous consequences. It will surely ruin the alpha if it gets to the wrong ears.

"I need to inform the alpha" 

The figure stepped back quietly away from the cottage,their feet moving silently against the soft soil of the forest as they disappeared into the trees.
