Chapter 6: Preparations
"Master, it's time to depart. Gobta and Rigur are ready. And a small selection of hobogoblins have been assembled and are prepared for their mission," Ranga informed Henrik who was finishing speaking to Rigurd about his duties as the newly declared 'Goblin Lord.'
It has been a week since Henrik and the founders council set the first laws of the land and in that time, the Lazek wolves and goblins had been paired up and had done some basic combat training under Henrik's tutelage. Thanks to his unique skill [Strategist], all of the goblins and wolves had reach B rank on their own and when the wolves fought as a pack, the combined might just broke A rank.
There was one problem and that was that the hobogoblins relied too much on the unity of the wolves. Because of this, Henrik knew if the goblins were ever separated from them, it's likely they'd be killed. He knew the goblins needed more training on their own and he knew just the man for the job. In fact, a small band of goblins led by Rigur was going to locate him.
Henrik, giving a kind smile thanked Ranga and told him to tell Gobta to be ready to move because Henrik, along with Gobta, Ranga and a few goblins, were going to make the first alliance of the nation. And hopefully get some materials and clothes, as the hobogoblinas were starting to get uncomfortable with their male counterparts staring at their tattered clothes. Especially given their recent evolution and more mature appearance.
"So, Rigurd. While I'm away, remember to keep the guys from trying anything with the girls. I know they won't disobey me, but I feel a lot safer knowing you'll be here to keep them in line. I should be back in two or three weeks at most."
Rigurd looked like he was about to cry tears of joy from hearing Henrik say he trusted him. Though he just said it without thinking, Henrik liked seeing his subordinates with this joy in their faces and all he could do is smile.
Then in a quick motion, Rigurd saluted Henrik and said with seriousness in his voice, "Absolutely Lord Henrik. I promise I'll keep all the men in line. When you come home, you'll see a lot of hobogoblinas who are thankful for your protection."
"Glad to hear it," Henrik said with a smile, "Well, I think it's time I set off. The sooner this is done, the sooner we can focus on building the city."
After saying this, Henrik left the tent that he'd been sleeping in and walked to Ranga and Gobta who was standing at the entrance of the village. As he approached, he could see a massive amount of goblins and wolves lined up, all ready for their respective mission.
Before going to on his mission, Henrik went over to Rigur who was organising a group of 30 goblins and wolves. Rigur and the goblins saw Henrik approaching and all saluted, now used to seeing Henrik as their king.
"Lord Henrik. The men and I are ready to leave on your orders. The men and wolves know of our mission and are completely dedicated to fulfilling it. We won't let you down sir," Rigur said as he was still saluting to Henrik, only putting his hand down when Henrik says he can.
"Great job," Henrik tells him, "Remember. You're to find the small band of ogres I sensed coming this way. They're strong so do not risk a fight with them. Simply offer them a home here and tell them I'll grant them all names. There should be five or six. Also, tell them that I'll help them avenge their home."
Rigur saluted again before replying, "Yes sir. If we think it's gonna turn into a fight, we'll make sure to safely retreat. Our Lazek wolves can use [Thought Communication] with Ranga so if we need to, we'll alert you."
"Yes, if you have too, alert me and Ranga. Then just keep them distracted till I get there. Now, go. If my calculations are correct, with your head start and us being in Dwargon for a few days, we should meet up on the way back here. We'll see you all then. Until then, you and Gobwa are in charge of your squad."
After receiving the order, Rigur and his men mounted their wolves and rode off, looking for a small band of ogres, some who will become important figures in the kingdom, and one who'll one day be counted among The Big Three.
Henrik then walked to Gobta and Ranga, who was standing with a few others that would be accompanying Henrik to Dwargon.
"Gobta, you'll be leading us to Dwargon since you've been there before. Take us the quickest route. Wolves, since your evolution, your stamina is near limitless. You should be able to run at full speed for all daylight hours. If you need to rest in-between, it's fine just tell me. Now let's go." Henrik says as he mounts a large Ranga.
Gobta then mounts his wolf and all the other goblins follow him. After they surround Henrik to make it look somewhat like a royal escort, Henrik gives the order and Ranga howls, signalling to all the wolves, the ones with him, the ones with Rigur and the ones staying in the village, that Henrik was on the move.
Then, all the wolves run at full speed, match Ranga step for step as he's the on carrying the king. With the wind blowing in his hair, the wolves in unison and everything going according to plan, Henrik grabs onto Ranga and enjoys the ride, excited to finally see more of this world he loved to read and watch.
Then, suddenly, with [Mana Perception] Henrik realised a large object flying to him at immense speed. After focusing on it, Henrik immediately identifies the object coming towards him, it's Velzard. The eldest of the True Dragons.
As if the situation couldn't get any worse, Henrik then hears a voice in his head.
"It's time we talked, imposter."
It was Veldora, somehow speaking to him from inside [Predator].
---------------------
Hi, Omni_God2000 here.
First off, I'm sorry. Over a month and nothing, it's unacceptable of someone trying to make this a career and there's no excuse that makes it ok.
However, in this month I wasn't just sitting on my ass, watching life pass by, I've been planning a new book. It's called 'Rise Of Camelot' and the first chapter is out on now on Royal Road and Webnovel. So expect chapters to be released for both books either every day or every two days.
So I hope you guys can go and give that book a try. Given I've been gone for a while, I think it's only fair I give you a pretty nice tease for the upcoming chapters.
So, expect two ultimate skills in the coming chapters, the introduction of the ogres (more Shuna is always a plus), another ultimate skill, some True Dragon content and Henrik officially becoming a True Dragon himself. But you didn't hear that from me.
I should also say, these aren't even the best bits I have planned, just a tease.
Hope you enjoyed and stay tuned (Not for as long this time. Promise).
