Inside the Clocktower—now reborn as the official headquarters of the Cursed Ones—the air was thick with purpose. Built and outfitted by the Anderson family, it was more than just a base. It had everything: a cutting-edge training facility, mission briefing rooms, strategy command centers, and even a leisure hub with custom dormitories for each member.

Yet none of that mattered now.

Jason stood in the center of the combat chamber, arms folded behind his back, facing the four members of his squad. His gaze was sharp, unwavering.

"Now then," he began, voice calm but commanding. "It's been a few days since we started our work. Gotham's underworld is either hiding or plotting. I'd wager even the League and Batman are watching closely. But that's a concern for later. Today, I want to focus on something else—training."

Livewire raised an amused eyebrow. Her fingers crackled with sparks as she crossed her arms.

"Train us? Are we really in need of that? I mean... come on, I think we've proven we're plenty ready."

Jason didn't even blink before Red Hood chimed in, his tone clipped and cold.

"The enemies we face won't stay stagnant. They're smart. Resourceful. Sooner or later, someone's going to figure out how to counter that electricity of yours. You ain't special."

Livewire scoffed, brushing back her glowing blue hair.

Harley leaned lazily on her bat, blowing a pink bubble with her gum.

"Boohoo. So what? Someone messes up, I bash their skull in. Training done."

Katana, silent as always, finally spoke—her voice calm, every word precise and calculated.

"What if such an individual is superpowered? You, I, and Livewire needed all three of us to put down Bane. He wasn't even a metahuman. Just enhanced. Still almost overpowered us."

Her words cut through the ego in the room like a blade through silk. No one argued.

Then Harley piped up again.

"So what? What can you teach us anyway, huh? You're blessed with power. We aren't."

Jason smiled faintly.

"Is that what you all think? That I'm just lucky?"

He turned to them, eyes scanning each face. He stepped forward.

"Tell me—what do you think is the origin of my power?"

Livewire shrugged. "You're a metahuman. That much is obvious."

Harley gasped. "Ooooh! Maybe you're Superman's evil cousin! Like, from Brooklyn!"

Red Hood grunted. "Experiment. Black book project."

Katana's voice sliced in, as always.

"Curses."

Jason pointed at her.

"Bingo. Katana's right."

Livewire raised an eyebrow. "Curses?"

Harley looked confused. "Like—fuck, shit, asshole, damn? Those give you power?"

Red Hood pinched the bridge of his nose.

"No, you lunatic. She means curses as in magic. Like voodoo crap."

Katana nodded.

"No. Not magic. Not divine. Something darker... older."

Jason stepped forward slowly toward a line of training mannequins.

"Let me give you all a demonstration."

He raised his hand.

"Cleave."

The word left his lips with finality. One of the mannequins split clean in half, cleanly, without a sound. No explosion. No theatrics. Just absolute, controlled devastation.

They all stared in stunned silence.

"This," Jason said, "is the power of Cursed Energy."

He turned back to face them.

"Think of it like magic... but it's not divine. It's not born from gods, from will, or even faith. Cursed Energy is the manifestation of negative emotions—fear, pain, hatred, regret. It doesn't need rituals or incantations. It needs only one thing... the world's darkness—and your own."

They listened, captivated now.

"Unlike magic, it's not reserved for some chosen few or bloodlines. Anyone can wield it—if they've suffered enough. If they've been hated enough. If they've seen enough death... or caused it."

Jason looked to Harley first.

"You. You're not a metahuman. But the Joker's shadow left a stain on this city—and you were right there, standing in it. The people of Gotham fear you. Hate you. They curse your name. All that negativity? It surrounds you like a cloak. You're a magnet for Cursed Energy, Harley."

He turned to Livewire.

"And you—Leslie. A woman who spoke the truth. Criticized Superman, called out the hypocrisy, the propaganda... and the world made you a villain. Even when it wasn't your fault. The accident... the backlash. The way people cursed you when you couldn't control your powers. Their hatred feeds your potential. You're more than just a metahuman—you're a living conduit of scorn."

Red Hood didn't even flinch when Jason looked at him.

"You don't need a lecture. You already know what death is. How it changes you. You've taken more lives than most villains. You carry guilt, fury, vengeance—and they fuel you. That's why you're able to understand me the most."

Then Jason turned to Katana.

"And you. You're different. Your sword—Soultaker—it's not just a weapon. It's a Cursed Tool. It absorbs cursed spirits. Stores their power. You don't produce cursed energy—but you wield it through your blade. You need to learn to tap into that potential... to stop just swinging it, and start commanding it."

The group went silent again. For once, no banter. No jokes.

Jason stepped back, his gaze scanning the room with sharp intent.

"What I want," he said, voice low and commanding, "is to teach you all how to harness that power. How to become Cursed Energy Wielders. This training won't be physical only—but mental. Your soul will be open to me. As I train you, your deepest secrets, your fears, your emotions... all of it shall be tested."

He paused, letting the weight of his words settle.

"Once I'm done with all of you... no one in this city will be able to stand in your way."

A slow, confident grin tugged at his lips.

"Now prepare for training. I've prepared a special schedule for each of you."

....

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit bar nestled in one of Gotham's more forgotten corners, sat a man unlike any other.

He wore a tailored black suit that shimmered slightly under the neon lights, and his golden blonde hair flowed back effortlessly, like silk. There was something about him—something regal, untouchable. He didn't need to speak for the entire bar to know: he was dangerous.

Even in a den brimming with thugs, smugglers, and cold-blooded killers... not a single soul dared approach him.

They didn't know his name. But they knew instinctively—he wasn't one of them. He was above them. Far above.

"Bartender," the man said, voice velvet smooth, tapping a manicured finger against the counter. "Be a dear and make me a Negroni, would you? Equal parts gin, vermouth rosso, and Campari—stirred, not shaken. I like my sins... well-balanced."

The bartender nodded quickly and turned to prepare the drink, hands slightly trembling.

As the man waited, he produced a pen and a black envelope from his coat pocket. Unfolding a parchment that seemed entirely out of place in this era, he began to write.

To Mr. Jason Anderson,

Do be so kind as to meet me at Rosso's Bar — yes, that one, the charming little pit just off Crime Alley. You'll find it tucked behind the shattered piano shop and the broken dreams.

Don't ask who I am.Don't ask what I am.You'll find those answers terribly disappointing.

All I ask is that you leave your house. Alone. And come to me.Alone.

Oh, and Jason, my dear boy…

I know.

About the reincarnation.About those little… Sukuna gifts you've been hiding.

Quite the glow-up, I must say — from fumbling college mortal to heir of blood and curses. A most thrilling transformation, really. You must be so proud.

Now, if you'd prefer all that rather unique baggage of yours to remain between you, yourself, and your many inner demons… then come.

Let's talk.

With warm regards and a touch of curiosity,A Connoisseur of the Unnatural

The ink shimmered as it dried.

He folded the letter with slow, deliberate care, sealed it with a press of his thumb... and tapped the back twice.

With a faint, soundless pulse of unnatural energy, the letter vanished.

Elsewhere—miles away, in the dead quiet of night—it appeared.

Right on Jason's desk.

Waiting.
