—-----

Title: The Game Creator

Description:

Dying at the age of 18, fresh out of high school, was a terrific experience

Frankly, he expected to disappear from this world- for his consciousness to dissipate into oblivion

But unexpectedly, he entered a boundless void… And yet, he was still 'alive'

[Create Your Own System]

Now, he wasn't a good programmer… but he was an otaku, and he knew exactly where this was going

With the choice to go to another world of his choosing, and with a system of his own creation, he vowed to live his second life to the fullest

He had an early death and didn't have the chance to fulfill his dreams. And so, he will do his best to cherish this opportunity

A/N: Gamer fanfictions are known to be…. unsatisfactory and not up to par in terms of quality

Of course, there are exceptions to this.

The Avatar: Awakened Gamer(Amazing MC) , Cursed Gamer(Had one of the best and most satisfactory endings), Gamer of the Void(Stopped updating years ago, and... a lot of smut), and Eostia: Harem Quest(Well, the ratio between smut and plot is a bit... ambiguous, but it is one of the best-written fanfictions out there) are personally my favorite gamer fanfictions

I have read many others. Some were not bad…. But it is just that- not bad- just like junk food if I had to make a comparison

This one in particular was inspired by a system CYOA

So, I decided to write this idea of mine. I wanted to see how a smart person would utilize the overpowered gamer system to its full potential

….Then again, in most cases, the MC's IQ= the Author's IQ, so the above statement is not that reliable

SoI will try my best, and please give me suggestions on what I could improve upon, or what could be done better

….By the way, I was really into this idea. I wrote most of the first 2 chapters in one day with 5 hours of sleep, so… excuse my mistakes and the lack of quality

[Create Your Own System]

Snapping back to life, the-now- unnamed soul stared at the holographic message in front of him with intensity, as if trying to confirm that it wasn't an illusion

Could one blame him? It sounded ridiculous no matter how you twisted it

…Dying, being transported to a boundless void while still alive(?), and seeing a holographic scene before you….

The soul prides itself in being able to accept foreign circumstances, but the events he is currently experiencing look like they came straight out of a badly written fanfiction

'Haah'

A hollow sigh escaped his…mouth? He doesn't have a body currently, so it would be more accurate to say that he sighed in his own mind

The unnamed soul was just that, a soul without a vessel of flesh and blood

He was an otaku, often immersing himself in various forms of fiction.

From anime, to manga, light novels, to even fanfictions

So truly experiencing such a thing that only happens in fiction….

Expectations bloomed in his heart…But he toned them down, as this might just be a figment of his imagination

It could be his brain playing tricks on him in his last moments…. Or he could have fallen into a coma, and his subconscious constructed a hyper-realistic dream

… Or something along those lines

Of course, it was also very possible that this was real

Why?

[Create Your Own System]

Because he can feel it

A strange connection to something foreign. It was an interesting sensation, as if he could control something beyond his own material body before his death

And so, having already accepted his death in this void where the passage of time was twisted, and having nothing to lose….

The unnamed soul extended his control over this holographic screen, prompting it to… do something

[Module [Uncapped Growth] and [Heads Up Display] have already been installed]

[.....]

[To create more features, energy is needed]

Indeed, he could feel the presence of these two 'modules' already in his control

And energy….

The soul could already feel a metaphysical well of energy. It was not inside him, and neither was it inside the 'system' which he has control over

It was… just there. The energy was present around him

However, the energy seemed… too little

'.....'

Closing his (metaphysical) eyes and concentrating, he extended his limited control over this 'well of energy'. The soul wanted to know the source of this energy

As he traced the source, he extended control over the system, trying to change and force it to display the source in a simplified manner

….In a manner the soul knew best

[Energy already present in the system: 75]

[Drawn from the age of soul: 2]

[Drawn from the event which led to the death of the soul's physical body: 6]

The soul smiled, seeing that it was successful in its endeavor

Except for the energy that was already present, it seemed as if this 'rudimentary' system could draw energy from the achievements in his life

…It was ridiculous, yet, he couldn't deny that it was beneficial for him

Besides, it was difficult for him to gauge exactly how much energy he had…. But even though he hadn't yet finished the system, it could still calculate the amount according to his specifications

However… something bothered him about the way that the system addressed him

[From the achievement of Master's loss of virginity before the age of 17: 5]

'Much better'

The soul thought to itself

…Although it didn't have a voice, and it communicated through texts, he still wanted the System to address him as 'Master'

It was a much better option than just 'soul'. And it was also fitting in a way, given his administrator-like control of the system

[Extracted from Master's vast imagination: 10]

[Taken from Master's influence: 2]

[Total: 100]

The soul's (metaphysical) lips twitched at seeing how little energy his influence gave him

He wasn't popular in his life… But really, only 2?

…. And he can guess that the only reason he obtained 2 points and not 0 was because he was a well-known author in Webnovel

'Whatever…..'

….

..

.

It was an interesting discovery

While he was fiddling with the System and trying to create features he had already seen in most systems of fiction in his previous life, he found something interesting

The soul added a classic 'status' system, where he would be able to see an accurate representation of his attributes

And so, when he finished that feature-

[Had 2x the normal stats of an average human: 20]

'....'

It was a welcome surprise, to be sure

He had diligently exercised his physical body since he was 13, so it was satisfying to see his effort being rewarded…. Even if it was in such a weird way

But more than that, it got the soul thinking-

'Can my skills draw out energy?'

It asked itself

And why would he only ask? It was better to try it and confirm it for himself

….

..

.

And, as he had suspected, it worked

[Programming; Lvl 50]

[Mathematics; Lvl 28]

[Physics; Lvl 10]

[Chemistry; Lvl 7]

[Calligraphy; Lvl 40]

[Drawing; Lvl 5]

[Cooking; Lvl 62]

[English; Lvl 100]

[Greek; Lvl 100]

[Japanese; Lvl 10]

[Running; Lvl 65]

[Swimming; Lvl 26]

[Chess; Lvl 45]

[Negotiation; Lvl 10]

[Flirting; Lvl 34]

[Socializing; Lvl 50]

[Sexual Arts; Lvl 25]

Designing a skill feature took…. Effort

He also noticed that it consumed energy. It was roughly the same cost as adding attributes, but the cost would surely depend on the scale of the new feature or modification

Also… While he will roughly mimic the Gamer System from the webtoon 'The Gamer', it doesn't mean that he won't add new features

For example… Merging skills

Having so many skills is tedious. It is better to have few but powerful skills than have a lot of useless ones

He also added skill evolution. This feature has theoretically infinite potential….

For example, the evolution to knife throwing could be just throwing in general.

And something like cooking, maybe it can evolve to….Alchemy? Or maybe making food with magical effects?

He isn't sure, but he has seen enough fanfictions to know this feature is overpowered

Though, all of these features cost a lot of energy

If adding attributes alone costs 10…. Then skills, with evolution and merging cost roughly about 30 energy

…. Very much worth it, in his opinion

Still, it was great that skills from his life could be registered as actual 'skills' in the system. If he goes to another world, it would give him an edge in early life

…..

….

.

'Traits… Something that wasn't in the 'The Gamer' webtoon, yet it is a great addition to a system'

The soul thought to itself, exerting control over the system to add this specific feature

He didn't know what specifically qualified as a trait in this system, nor did he know what conditions need to be met for one to have a trait

Nevertheless, from the fiction he has read, traits are quite advantageous

…Maybe he shouldn't regard anything fictitious as true…. But this situation is ridiculous enough, so at least some of the fiction he has read is bound to be true

'.....'

Maybe he should add titles too? They do go well with traits

'....'

So much to ponder, so many features to add….

…. And so little energy

'Should I….?'

A trace of hesitation appeared in his mind

To be honest, his idea was absurd…. laughable, even

Then again, everything that was happening around him currently was absurd, so it could work

Deliberately adding flaws to the system in hopes of saving energy, and having more to work with... Yes, perhaps it could be done. He has infinite time in this void…. So why not try it?

….

..

.

'Fuuu~'

The soul exhaled, a sigh of pure exhaustion leaving it

How much time has passed? 8 hours? 8 days? Weeks?

He doesn't know. The passage of time was a blur to him. In this boundless void where only blankness was present, the only thing keeping him sane is the presence of the system, and the control he has over it

The idea succeeded. He obtained energy and added everything he could think of to the system

Now thought… It was time for the most difficult part

Choosing a world to reincarnate

The soul had very little energy in its possession… So there was no possibility of going to higher-ranked worlds like Marvel and DC

With the energy he has left…. He can only go to worlds where there are little or no supernatural elements

And that was fine with him, he already had the means to travel to other fictional worlds. Now, he only needed to go to a safe world to develop his abilities, and then take the risk of going somewhere else

'.... Well, there is no use in delaying it'

With little to no hesitation, the soul braced itself, gathering its remaining energy

And then, he manipulated the system to send himself toward the nearest low-leveled world, wherever his energy would support him

..

.

~Pov change~

The world hit me with a sudden, crushing force.

One moment, I was floating in a warm, dark cocoon, the next, I was being squeezed, pressed from all sides.

My body felt like it was being pushed through a narrow tunnel, every inch of me compressed, every nerve screaming in protest.

The pressure was immense, a constant, painful force that seemed to go on forever.

My lungs burned as I struggled to take my first breath. The cool, sterile air filled my chest, a shock after the warmth I had known.

I wailed, the sound raw and instinctual, a primal response to the overwhelming sensations assaulting me.

"それは男の子だ (It's a boy)." a voice announced. The words were distant, almost drowned out by the roar of blood in my ears.

I felt hands on me, lifting me from the crushing pressure into the open air. The sudden change was disorienting, the bright lights blinding after the darkness.

I squinted, my eyes barely able to open against the glaring light. Blurry shapes moved around me, their features indistinct.

I could make out the shape of a face leaning over me, a man with sharp features and an intense gaze— my father.

"ようこそ世界へ 八百万アダム (Welcome to the world, Yaoyorozu Adam)." he said. His voice was deep, resonant, filled with a gravity that seemed to vibrate through me.

I didn't understand his words, but the name echoed in my mind, Yaoyorozu Adam—

A softer voice murmured something nearby, and I turned my head slightly, drawn to the sound. my mother.

Her face was a blur of pale features and tired eyes, but there was a warmth in her gaze that offered a moment of relief from the overwhelming sensations.

"彼は完璧だよ (He's perfect)." she whispered, her voice filled with exhausted joy. Her fingers brushed against my skin, cool and soothing.

Another figure came into view- a baby, she was being carried by my new father, her eyes wide with curiosity. She was my sister. She looked at me with a mix of wonder and delight

As much as a baby could express those emotions, anyway

"Ehehehe" She giggled softly, her happy giggles echoing in the room

"ああ,あなたもかつては同じように小さかった,モモ (Ah, you were just as small once, Momo)." Our mother replied. "そして今あなたを見てください (And look at you now)."

In that instant, my tiny hand instinctively reached out, grasping my father's finger.

His expression softened, a rare smile touching his lips. "彼は強いです (He's strong)." he observed, pride evident in his voice.

The pressure, the pain, the disorientation—they were all part of this moment, the beginning of my life as Adam Yaoyorozu. The future was an unknown expanse, yet I was fully prepared

For now, I was content to rest in their embrace, feeling the dual forces of love and expectation wrap around me.

The first chapter of my story had just begun, and I…. was too tired to think of anything else beyond the fact that it all wasn't a dream

This was reality

The darkness of tired sleep caught up to me, it's as if the world around me softened, quietened, and faded into the background.

Thoughts become hazy, like distant whispers fading into the night.

[Gamer's Body has leveled up!]

[Gamer's Mind has leveled up!]

[Gamer's Body; Lvl 1 —--> Lvl 17]

[Gamer's Mind; Lvl 1 —---> Lvl 44]

With the notification of my creation, the darkness itself seems to deepen, wrapping around me like a comforting blanket.

With each breath, I sank deeper into the abyss of slumber, my consciousness slipping away into the oblivion of dreams.

And finally…. My consciousness surrendered to the embrace of sleep

….

(A/N: So yeah, Starting World is My hero academia

I didn't like this beginning, at all. I feel like he was too quick to accept everything. Though he had the time to do so, I don't think it was properly shown

But well… What do you think?)
