Chapter 78: Chapter 78
Public classes, even students who usually don't pay attention, will pretend to listen, especially with so many parents watching.
After taking her family members on a tour during the break, Rias returned to class, but she frowned as she noticed that Akeno's seat was empty, feeling an inexplicable discomfort in her heart.
Where did Akeno go…? Don't tell me…
Rias remembered that Akeno seemed to be together with Teacher Riku when she brought her brother and father on the school tour. Instantly, Rias felt uneasy.
She almost couldn't help but get up and head back to the clubroom, but glanced at her brother and father, pursing her lips. Akeno, you actually took advantage of this chance to sneak away!
She finally endured until class ended. As soon as the bell rang, Rias broke away from her brother and father and hurried back to the Occult Research Club.
Outside the clubroom, Rias sensed the presence of a barrier, which confirmed her suspicions and left her with a complicated expression as she returned to her classroom.
The barrier remained in place until the end of the school day.
When she finally returned, all traces of the battle inside the clubroom had been erased by Riku, it was as if nothing had happened.
Akeno, meanwhile, sat next to Riku in a fresh uniform, her cheeks flushed, her eyes tinged with a subtle crimson.
"Mmm, no wonder you need so many girls together. Riku-sensei, your stamina is way too much. No wonder you usually need Asia and the others," Akeno teased, finally having calmed down. She shot Riku a flirtatious look.
If it hadn't been for the fact that classes were ending and she'd begged for mercy, it probably still wouldn't have stopped.
"Hmph, who told you to tempt me? I had to show you the authority of your teacher," Riku said smugly.
"But even though you already have Schwi, and you've also taken Asia and the others, and now you've accepted me, are you planning to build a harem, teacher?" Akeno smiled playfully.
"Harems are a man's romance, of course, it's necessary," Riku said without hesitation, the corners of his mouth curling up. "You're all my wings. I won't let any of you go."
"That's a pretty bold statement." Akeno rolled her eyes. "But I like it."
After that, Schwi and the others arrived at the clubroom one after another. Schwi just glanced between Riku and Akeno a couple of times, glared at Riku, and then, as usual, took out a snack and started eating.
Asia, Xenovia, and Irina didn't make a fuss. Koneko wrinkled her nose, glared at Akeno, then coldly glanced at Riku before sitting opposite them with a sulky look.
Finally, Rias returned. As for Yuuto, he'd taken Rias's brother and father back to their house.
"I have an announcement to make," Rias said seriously, looking around at everyone.
The girls all turned their attention to her, and even Riku felt a little awkward under her gaze. Rias was the first to notice he had realised that long ago.
He'd always known Rias's 'catch the cheater' skills were maxed out, but he hadn't expected them to be this strong.
"From today onward, Akeno, Koneko, and I will move into Riku-sensei's house. Is that a problem?" Rias looked straight at Riku and spoke directly.
"Uh…" Riku touched his face. Yep, she's jealous.
"Agreed." Koneko was the first to raise her hand.
"I agree with the president's proposal, too," Akeno said, raising her hand as well.
Seeing this, even though Asia, Xenovia, and Irina didn't know why Rias suddenly made this decision, they just shook their heads, indicating they had no objections.
"Do as you please." Schwi looked at Rias and replied calmly.
In the end, Rias stared hard at Riku, making it clear she wouldn't let the matter go if he refused.
"Uh, I don't mind," Riku said after touching his face and clearing his throat. Living together wasn't a bad idea this way; he wouldn't have to worry about a love triangle.
"Then it's settled," Rias said, finally revealing a smile. She shot Akeno a glare. She'd only looked away for a second, and so many girls had gotten ahead of her. Since that's how it was, everyone would stay together from now on, and no one could sneak around anymore.
After that, Riku led Rias and the others back to his apartment under the envious eyes of the students.
Of course, the original size of the apartment wasn't enough, so Rias boldly expanded Riku's house into a mansion. Although it looked ordinary from the outside, the inside was ten times bigger. Riku's bed was big enough to fit all the girls.
Sleeping with so many girls at once should have been enjoyable, but since he couldn't be too handsy, Riku could only calm his restless heart and simply enjoy the peace.
......
Time flowed by like water. In just a few noisy days, the meeting of the leaders of the three factions finally began.
In the meeting room, around a luxurious table, sat all the important people from each faction. Riku sat at the head, with Michael standing behind him, along with his three divine servants, Asia, Xenovia, and Irina.
As for Schwi, she wasn't interested in this kind of thing, and with Riku able to handle everything easily, she chose to go to the arcade and play games.
The devil faction's representatives were Sirzechs and Serafall. Grayfia stood behind them.
The fallen angel faction's representatives were Azazel, with twelve black wings and Vali, the White Dragon Emperor.
As for Rias, Akeno, Koneko, and Kiba, they stood off to the side.
Sona, Tsubaki, and the others were also on standby nearby.
"Now that everyone's here, let's begin the meeting," Riku declared, glancing at Azazel, who was looking at him curiously.
"Heh, about the fallen angel executive Kokabiel, Azazel, do you have anything to say?" Sirzechs was the first to question Azazel.
"Ah, that was definitely our fault. I never imagined Kokabiel would do something so crazy. I'm willing to provide compensation for this," Azazel said, rubbing his forehead and apologising without hesitation. However, due to his looks and tone, it somehow didn't seem very sincere.
Seeing Azazel apologise so straightforwardly, Sirzechs couldn't press the matter further and dropped it.
"This meeting isn't supposed to be about such trivial things, is it? We should be discussing the prospects for peace between the three factions," Azazel said, crossing his arms on the table and getting straight to the point, which made the atmosphere in the room suddenly tense.
"Before anything else, let's hear the opinion of someone who could greatly impact the world. Vali, what kind of world do you want?" Azazel turned to look at Vali, who was leaning against the wall.
In an instant, everyone's eyes turned to him.
"I just want to fight strong opponents," the White Dragon Emperor, Vali, said without hesitation, his blazing fighting spirit fixed firmly on Riku.
"Is that so? You really are a headache," Azazel sighed.
"As for peace, Sirzechs, Serafall, what are your thoughts?" Azazel then turned to look at Sirzechs and Serafall, asking for their opinions.
"Us? Personally, we want peace. But the final decision isn't ours to make," Sirzechs said with a bitter smile.
"Don't ask me." Serafall turned her head away.
"Huh?" Azazel was left speechless. Just what were these two Maou up to? The others were equally dumbfounded. If these two couldn't represent the Underworld, then who could?
Behind Sirzechs and Serafall, Grayfia shook her head slightly and glanced meaningfully at Riku, who had a faint smile on his lips.
"Forget it, seems you two aren't sure either. In that case, let's ask the most important person here, the new God of Heaven," Azazel muttered, rubbing his forehead as he looked at Riku.
"Peace is so boring. Wouldn't it be more interesting if the world got a bit livelier?" Riku said nonchalantly as everyone turned to him.
——!
Everyone was stunned. Azazel's pupils shrank sharply.
"Well, since Lord Riku says so, we think the same," Sirzechs and Serafall exchanged glances and finally replied helplessly.
"Uh…" The atmosphere instantly grew heavy and strange. Rias and Sona stared at their brother and sister in shock.
"Hey, hey, are you guys kidding?" Azazel could no longer remain calm, his face a little ugly as he glared at Sirzechs and Serafall. Wasn't the purpose of this meeting to discuss peace? How did it turn into this?
Is it because of the new God…?
"Lord Riku, looks like Sirzechs and the others are taking you as their leader. When did you all become allies?" Azazel took a deep breath, regained a bit of composure, and stared at Riku. "I've heard a few things about your reputation in the Underworld."
"Allies? That's not quite right. It's more accurate to say I'm the true ruler of the devils, and at the same time, the new God of Heaven. Hmm, to put it simply, you could call me a Demon God," Riku replied, completely at ease.
——!
That sentence hit the crowd like a nuclear explosion. Those who had been in the dark were utterly shocked, their hearts thrown into turmoil.
Even Vali's eyes widened in disbelief.
Michael was left speechless; he hadn't known about any of this.
"So that's it. Not only did you become the new God of Heaven without anyone noticing, you secretly took control of the devils as well," Azazel said bitterly. "Demon God really is a fitting title for you."
After Rias and Sona processed what they'd just heard, they instantly understood all the previous oddities why the Maou would treat a God with such deference…
"I've never heard of a massive war breaking out between you, why would all the devils submit so easily…?" Azazel stared at Sirzechs, his expression complicated, and asked one last time.
"Because all the strongest of our entire race played a game against Lord Riku. In the end, we lost completely, so we all submitted," Sirzechs summarized with a wry smile.
This revelation was even more shocking than the last. Azazel's pupils contracted violently as he stared at Riku, who remained utterly calm.
Vali, too, was dumbstruck, shaken to his core.
Rias, Sona, and Michael, everyone who hadn't known the truth, couldn't help but draw a sharp breath, unable to hide their shock.
They'd always known Riku was strong, but for the entire might of the devil race to be defeated by one man, this was terrifying beyond belief.
"No wonder, no wonder I always felt something was off. So that's how it was…" Azazel slumped powerlessly in his chair, his thoughts finally connecting.
If this were all true, Riku could easily wipe out the Fallen Angels. Not to mention, he now commanded the power of devils and angels, and even announced that peace was boring. In this negotiation, he had no leverage at all.
"So, Demon God, is it? Are you planning to start a war?" Azazel asked bitterly.
"Even though I think peace is boring, well… All kinds of relaxing, wonderful lives are built on peace. So if the Fallen Angels are willing to become allies and follow my lead, I won't go to war against you," Riku said, causing Azazel's eyes to flicker.
Everyone else let out a sigh of relief.
"But, I also have my own little goal to accomplish," Riku said with a smile.
"A goal?" Everyone looked over at him.
"To gather all the powers of the world under my command. What I want is to rule the world," Riku announced without hesitation.
——!
Once again, everyone was shocked as they stared at Riku.
This declaration was even more explosive than before. It was a terrifying ambition that could plunge the entire world into chaos.
Vali, on the other hand, was filled with a fanatic excitement, as if he'd glimpsed the ultimate being.
"Lord Riku, you must be joking," Sirzechs said with trembling lips, forcing a smile. But if it was Riku… maybe he really could do it.
"Lord Riku…" Michael's face turned pale.
"Sirzechs, do you know why I was able to take over the Underworld without shedding a drop of blood?" Riku glanced at Sirzechs, speaking calmly.
"…That…" Sirzechs was startled, but then realised. He remembered when he fought Riku, Riku's goal was to rule, not to slaughter, as long as no one pushed things too far. That's why they surrendered, and except for the House of Naberius, who asked for it, not a single devil died.
"Looks like you get it now." Riku smiled calmly. "I'm very lenient with the three major factions. If you're smart enough to submit, I won't do anything to you. Nor will I shake up the established order."
"Besides, don't you think this is the only way to achieve true peace?" Riku smiled meaningfully.
