Starting from One Piece with the Rinnegan

Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Battle-Damaged Golden Lion? Just a Toy

"Damn it, what the hell kind of Devil Fruit user are you!?"

After yet another failed attack, the Golden Lion finally lost it. If Kaito had just happened to eat a superior Devil Fruit, that would've been one thing—but what was with all these different powers?

Facing the Golden Lion's question, Kaito put on a thoughtful expression and the Golden Lion's clothes suddenly exploded. His exposed skin was covered in blood.

Caught off guard without time to coat his body in Armament Haki, the Golden Lion had clearly been injured by the sudden blast.

Any ability Kaito absorbed with the Rinnegan could be activated through line-of-sight. The explosion just now came from the ability he gained after absorbing the power of the Pop-Pop Fruit—he could detonate any inorganic matter within his line of sight.

Panicking from the sudden attack, the Golden Lion quickly reinforced his lower body with Armament Haki. If his pants blew off like his shirt, that would've been a truly humiliating disaster. What would all those other old-timers of his generation think?

Kaito, however, felt the move was unnecessary.

He hadn't blown up the Golden Lion's pants out of kindness for the elderly. He just didn't want to see anything too scarring—Kalifa and Ain were still spectating in the back, after all.

"It's not over yet. ROOM: Switch."

The Golden Lion's body flickered like a glitching image before returning to normal, but his expression turned ugly.

"Damn it, what was that!? It felt like some invisible force was trying to move me somewhere!"

Kaito looked at the still-stationary Golden Lion and nodded thoughtfully.

He had tried to teleport the Golden Lion directly into the sea using Switch—but it had failed.

As expected, against opponents with strong Haki, you needed even stronger ocular power to succeed. Though the Golden Lion wasn't as powerful as he used to be, he had once stood at a Four Emperors-level of strength. His foundation was still there.

Still, Kaito wondered—during his fight with Luffy, where exactly had all that Haki gone?

Seeing Kaito no longer using those bizarre abilities and instead just lost in thought, the Golden Lion suddenly felt a surge of nameless fury.

Since when had he been looked down on by some brat in the Marines? To him, Kaito's behavior was blatant humiliation.

The Golden Lion surged toward Kaito, raising his leg to slash down.

Kaito glanced up, shaped his hand like a pistol, and aimed at the Golden Lion's chest.

"Injection Shot."

"Nani!?"

Sensing danger with Observation Haki, the Golden Lion abruptly stopped mid-charge and instinctively dodged sideways—but his left arm shook violently.

He let out a grunt of pain, clutching his left arm tightly in the air.

There were no visible wounds, but the Golden Lion knew—his muscles, nerves, and bones inside were completely shattered. This arm was now useless for the rest of the fight.

Injection Shot was a technique using the Op-Op Fruit's power to destroy an opponent's internal organs within the ROOM space. In the original story, Law used this to strike Doflamingo's abdomen.

Normally, it wasn't this devastating. The reason it had such catastrophic effect even on someone like the Golden Lion was because Kaito had enhanced it—he'd combined it with the Pop-Pop Fruit's ability.

If the original Injection Shot was like an armor-piercing round, then Kaito's version was an armor-piercing round with explosive payload.

The move could've been dodged, but the Golden Lion's Observation Haki had severely dulled, so his reaction was too slow. He took the full brunt of what was essentially a true-damage skill.

Kaito shook his hand casually, not even glancing at the Golden Lion.

"It's extremely rude to interrupt someone while they're thinking, Shiki."

The Golden Lion clenched his teeth, face twisted in pain as he clutched his arm.

"You monster... what the hell do you take this fight for? Are you using me as some kind of test subject!?"

"Yeah."

Kaito turned his head, smiling pleasantly at the Golden Lion, completely ignoring the latter's constipated expression.

"For a washed-up piece of garbage from a bygone era like you, just being used as a test subject is already a courtesy. You wanted to release those animals from that island into the East Blue, didn't you? People like you don't belong in this sea anymore."

"What the hell would a brat like you know!? I'm the Golden Lion! You've never even heard of my name!?"

Kaito shrugged, clearly unimpressed.

"Nope. Never heard of a 'Golden Lion.'"

"AAAARGH!! Bastard! Die!!!"

Now completely hysterical, the Golden Lion violently swung both legs in the air, unleashing wave after wave of golden slashes.

Kaito remained calm. He teleported to the front of the warship, where deep purple energy surged around his body. A massive, purple spectral warrior enveloped him—and then fully materialized.

The moment it appeared, the purple giant unfurled its massive wings, blotting out the sky as it stood before the warship like a shield.

Both the Golden Lion and the crew on the warship—Kalifa and the others—watched in stunned silence, jaws dropped at the overwhelming pressure exuded by the purple giant.

It was Kaito's Complete Susanoo.

With his ocular power now elevated, the Susanoo had reached a towering height of 300 meters.

Standing within the diamond-shaped space on its forehead, Kaito looked down at the incoming slashes and smirked.

"Heh... almost forgot you were a swordsman too. Let's see how you handle this."

The Susanoo gripped its sword with one hand, purple energy flaring. With a flash, it unleashed a massive slash—a shockwave of purple light ripped through the sky, heading straight for the Golden Lion.

The golden slash from the Golden Lion clashed mid-air with the purple slash from the Susanoo. A blinding white light erupted from the collision, forcing everyone aboard the warship to shut their eyes.

When they opened them again, they were dumbstruck.

The sea beneath the clash had been ripped apart, forming a canyon of cascading water on either side like twin waterfalls. The gap remained, unable to close—like a newly-formed natural barrier.

And the most terrifying part? That was just the aftershock of a battle between two people.

"Hah... hah... you really are a monster..."

The Golden Lion gasped, bloody from head to toe, looking like a man soaked in red.

It was obvious—he had lost that clash.

Kaito stood with arms crossed, coldly gazing down at the pitiful sight below.

For someone who harmed innocent people just to lash out at the world, he felt no sympathy.

And frankly, with his current strength almost at the level of a Four Emperors, a battle-worn Golden Lion wasn't much of a challenge.

Put simply?

Just a toy.
