Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: One Year

To elevate Storm Kingdom to Empire status, Feng Mo needed a unanimous vote from the fifteen-member council, consisting of the chairmen of the Federation's fourteen empires (excluding the three empires of the Western Warzone) and the Federation Speaker.

As Feng Mo entered the parliamentary hall, he noticed that all representatives of the three empires in the Western Warzone were absent. It was clear they were determined to establish their own alliance. Feng Mo recalled Gu Jun's warning about the ambitions of the Frostmoon Empire, which, sooner or later, would likely annex both the Cloud Dream and Snow Eagle Empires.

With the Snow Eagle Fleet annihilated and the Snow Eagle Empire weakened, the Frostmoon Empire would not miss this opportunity. But for now, the Federation's overwhelming pressure restrained their expansion.

For the elevation of Storm Kingdom to Empire, none of the council members voted against it—only votes of approval or abstentions. Before them stood Feng Mo, only 29 years old, a T5 Fleet Commander, the ruler of the Storm Empire, and the Federation's foremost starship design master. No one would openly show disdain or opposition; they would, at the very least, extend courtesy to avoid burning bridges.

The process for elevation began with the Federation Council voting. After unanimous approval from the fourteen empire representatives and the Federation Speaker, the proposal was opened to the general assembly. If over 20% voted against it, the elevation would fail; otherwise, it would proceed.

After the vote, the Federation Speaker stepped forward to announce the result.

"I hereby declare, by a unanimous vote of the Federation Assembly, the Storm Kingdom is officially elevated to the Storm Empire. Its ten systems are now sovereign territories of the Empire, sacred and inviolable!"

With this announcement, the Storm Empire officially became the fifteenth empire within the Interstellar Human Federation, and the three empires of the Western Warzone were formally expelled from the Federation.

It had taken Feng Mo eight years to go from building his first starship to establishing an empire. Eight years, at the age of 29—a mere "child" by Federation standards, where anyone under thirty was still considered young.

Yet, Feng Mo was now a sovereign ruler, the leader of an empire. The Storm Empire, unlike other empires in the Federation, operated under a feudal system, with absolute authority vested in Feng Mo himself. In ancient terms, he would have been called an emperor; in the interstellar age, he was known as a Lord.

Time passed swiftly, and within a year, Feng Mo found himself occupied with consolidating the ten systems into a unified Star Domain, expanding the fleet, and establishing the Empire. The territories he had won came with numerous surrendered fleets, which he dismantled, decommissioning outdated, weaker starships and integrating the remainder into his five main fleets, dramatically boosting their strength.

Each fleet now comprised over three thousand starships, with T4 ships making up 30% of their numbers. Every main fleet was anchored by a quasi-T5 flagship, either the Hurricane or Mastodon, with 900+ T4 ships and over 2,100 T3 ships per fleet. When united, these five fleets could form a vast, large-scale armada, a rare sight even among the Federation's T5 fleets.

Meanwhile, the Storm Fleet, the Empire's primary fleet, underwent a period of rapid expansion. Alisa, who had been working tirelessly, first led a team of engineers to repair the Storm God and twenty T5 Sword Dragons. Then, without pause, she began developing the T5 Paladin-Class Stellar Annihilation Battleship, while Feng Mo, unable to rely solely on her, personally led a team to develop the T5 Pegasus-Class Interstellar Missile Ship.

With both of them leading separate teams, they managed to complete the construction of these two ships within six months, before diving into the development of the T5 Wolf King-Class Destroyer and T5 Bay-Class Supply Ship.

After another four months of exhausting work, they returned to Storm Prime for some well-deserved rest. The mass production of these new ships would no longer require their direct involvement. The addition of these four types of ships ushered in a period of substantial growth for the Storm Fleet.

Currently, the Storm Fleet possessed 38 combat starships and over 100 support starships, predominantly industrial and supply ships, ensuring extended operational range.

One of Feng Mo's major projects during the year was upgrading the Empire's stargate system. His T4 stargate technology was no longer a secret to the Federation, though, as a T4-grade technology, it did not provoke much concern. However, Feng Mo's design and construction skills continued to draw attention, especially after the battle against the Snow Eagle Empire, where his four T5 Mystic Birds had demonstrated superior power compared to the Federation's own T5 stealth bombers.

The Federation's Ship Design Department, tasked with analyzing Feng Mo's uploaded combat footage frame by frame, sought to refine their designs using insights gleaned from the battle. This meticulous analysis was a testament to the Department's reputation for cutting-edge development.

In the Storm Empire, Feng Mo also established a Starship Design Department, appointing himself as the director, with Alisa and Ai Er as deputy directors. While this department couldn't compare to the Federation's, which boasted the galaxy's finest minds, Feng Mo had his own strategy: public recruitment.

The design department issued a recruitment poster, which included the promise that Feng Mo would personally mentor the candidates. This attracted a flood of starship design enthusiasts. Candidates faced an open-book examination, with three hours to complete it. Unfortunately, the test's difficulty proved daunting, as out of over a million applicants, fewer than 300 passed.

Even Alisa, upon first seeing the test, struggled to finish it and muttered, "Monster," as she glanced at Feng Mo afterward. Feng Mo could hardly blame her; the test had cost him 160 points to obtain from the Spark System, and even he had nearly run out of time himself. For students who had never seen the Spark System's advanced designs, it was unsurprisingly challenging.

The selected hundred or so candidates possessed talents worthy of the Federation's own design department. Determined to avoid losing these promising recruits, Feng Mo personally deployed the Storm Fleet to pick up the designers and their families,

ensuring their loyalty to the Storm Empire.
