Star Wars: the purge

Chapter 19: Regreat (3)

Time passed dauntingly slow for Shaak Ti. over the following days after her discussion with grand master Yoda, and with this time she dedicate all her time preparing both her mind and body for the upcoming conflict.

Knowledge can be the difference between victory and defeat, but if one does not act and prepare on said Knowledge then one is doomed to fail every encounter.

And as a Jedi master and member of the council Shaak Ti was no slouch. With every ounce of time she found unallocated she would train her self to exhaustion. Once she finished training she would then meditate in hopes of finding any flaws during her training and way to improve.

As the day of departure arrived Shaak Ti with a sharp mind and strong will began to make her way to the designated Venator class star destroyer.

Believing that the personal under her command had the right to know the pertental dangers that this mission could entail. As well as giving the crew and soldiers enough time to properly prepare themselves.

As Shaak Ti boarded the star destroyer class ship. With steadly and calculated steps she made her ways toward the ships bridge, were all the highest ranking officers and clone commanders would be.

As she entered the Venator's bridge, she was met with the sight of the officers that she had served with on numerous occasions finalising the battle strategies.

The current captain of the star destroyer, a well accomplished Republic navy officer noticed her fist. Flashing a kind smile in her direction before greeting her with respect of someone her position deserved.

" Though a little earlier then expected, it is my honor to welcome you aboard my command vessel once more Jedi master Shaak Ti."

Unlike most Jedi during the clone wars who's reputations had dropped significantly, Shaak Ti was one of the few who was loved and respected by both officers for her strategic mind and cunning plans. And by the clones as she was the overseeerof their training.

Her wisdom compassion for other and her ability to listen to her officers made her very well liked.

The other officers and clones now noticing her precence all welcomed her with kind expression.

The captain seeing the overly sharp look in her eyes caught on to the idea that something about this mission had changed for the better or for the worse he did not know." Is everything Allright General Ti you look overly troubled then usual."

Giving a bitter smile in response, before making her way over to the other officers she began to explain the pertental threats tbey would most likly face on this mission.

" I doubt any of you have been informed. So let me tell all of you now, the threat of this mission has been raised many fold. The council believes through the use of a spy the (CIS) Has set an ambush for myself and the clones under my command in hopes of eliminating said threat."

As the officers inside the bridge heared this information a silence spread. Before the captain commented." To have you worried, and for that matter, and for the federation to believe they have a chance of eliminating you,can only mean General Greivous and his elite guards will be there."

Another silence followed after the mention at the famed General of the (CIS) one had bestowed apon himself the title of Jedi killer. His reputation had become well known through out the Republic.

Nodding her head in confirmation." Yes that is the most likely outcome"

" And becomes of the circumstance and the pertental involvement of a spy, we will be expecting no further reinforcements."

To the officers and soldiers inside the bridge, the current mission ahead of them would most likely be extremely costly, one that had the pertental to have extensive clone casualties.

With a concerned look on his face, one of the one officer and one the only clones invited to this private talk spoke." So what you saying is that without reinforcements we will have to rely of the slim chance that someone is crazy or stupid enough to volunteer for this mission."

The clone commanders comment snapped the captain out of his thoughts and allowed him to remember the reason why he was extra chipper today. Before the sudden bad news the captain had been waiting to address the good news he had received a day prior.

With a smile now gracing his face that earned the attention of the other around him." I have been waiting to tell the rest of the officers until master Shaak Ti arrived. But a recent report that claimed that will have received quite the number of volunteers."

Now earning the full attention of everyone including Shaak Ti he continued with a smug look on his face." The report stated the general Vincent and small group of 50 elite clone troopers had unexpectedly volunteered their efforts to this mission."

With Vincent's name being well known by any respectable officer, a spark of hope could be seen return to their eyes once more.

The clone wars hand been the perfect place for out standing personal to prove their worth and competence. Some gaining extreme fame allowing the public to see them as war hero's, one of those few individuals was General Vincent.

Earning great reputation as an officer full of wisdom patience and most noticeably the ability to compete with trained Jedi masters in combat. A feat that in the eyes of many put Vincent on par with the (CIS) General Grievius.

And at that moment the bridge door opend wide, walking inside with a nominating precence that attracted the eyes of everyone inside.

With modified armor similar to that of the clone troopers and standing at a towering 2 meters tall, and equipped with several weapons he appeared to many as a walking war machine.

Even the famed clone commandos that followed behind him had their precence completely over shadowed by the walking giant before them.

And with a charming smile" it is trully an honour to be working along side such esteemed individuals such as yourself. And it is my greatest privilege to have the chance to fight alongside the beautiful Jedi master Shaak Ti."
