Chapter 280: Fighting the knights part 2

The knights realized that Silva meant it when he said he would not be holding back. The leader of the knights decided to try and salvage their situation before it became worse.

"Everyone, don't get in close. Keep your distance and fire at him. Make sure you aim at him," he yelled loudly, trying to boost their morale and get them to actually hit Silva.

But while he was talking, Silva had vanished. They began looking around but couldn't find him, and then, all of a sudden, tendrils shot out of the ground, attacking everyone.

They immediately began firing at the tendrils, trying not to get caught by them, and this made them forget about Silva.

Silva used the distraction and began taking the guards down. He only used his normal speed, but to them, he was a blur.

He appeared out of nowhere and disappeared into nothing.

Silva charged at a knight. The knight spotted Silva too late and tried to shoot him down, but a tendril blocked the line of fire, and Silva got behind the knight, sending a powerful kick to the spine.

The knight arched forward in pain, but Silva was not done. He grabbed hold of the knight and flung him into another knight so hard that the impact sent both of them flying.

Silva turned around and saw a gun pointed at him. The bullet was fired at close range. His normal speed would be slightly lower, and he would not be able to dodge the bullet.

So he had to use flash step, increasing his base speed and dodging the bullet before charging at the knight and slamming into his chest with enough force to break a rib. Enjoy new tales from empire

The knight was sent flying and rolling on the ground before coming to a stop. Silva picked up the gun the knight had left and pointed it at a group of knights headed for him with a smile on his face.

Bang, bang, bang. The bullets fired right into their arms, but it only left torn armor and red skin.

"Huh? These aren't real bullets? Well, I guess I can't really expect them to use real bullets for practice, but it doesn't make this any less painful," he said and then pointed at another knight.

Bang. He fired and then chucked the sword at the knight's head as well, knocking the knight out. Silva took out a plain sword from his ring.

The sword was then engulfed in abyssal flames. The flames were too hot for the sword, and the sword started melting. When it was almost liquid, Silva swung it around, and the liquid metal, covered in abyssal flames, shot in all directions.

Whoever it touched, regardless of their strength, was put into agonizing pain. But he wasn't done yet. Some of the knights still had their guns pointed at him, and they started firing at him nonstop, trying to hit him.

Silva ran, going faster than they could follow, so they couldn't hit him. When he saw an opening, he leaped into the air, took out a sword, and slashed it.

A mana-created sword arc shot out and tore through the air. The knights couldn't see the sword arc, but they could sense it.

They leaped in all directions. The sword arc hit the ground and caused an explosion, which left a very deep sword mark in the ground.

The knights stared at it in shock, seeing that this was what would have cut into them had they not moved fast enough.

Silva landed on the ground and still held the sword, ready to make another move. His feet dug into the ground, and he dashed off again.

"He is having too much fun," Drake said.

"Yes, and that's eating into the time we are to use for other things. He is trying to escape the work he has to do today," Lily said.

"Why does he have so many tasks all of a sudden?" Drake asked.

"He has always had lots of tasks. I just delegate them, but every once in a while, I'll grab him and make him carry out the essential ones I couldn't give to others," Lily said.

"Makes sense. So what are you going to do now? We can't let him keep bashing the knights. I don't think they want to fight anymore," Drake said.

"Sigh, I'll stop this," Lily replied and walked towards Silva. Silva noticed her and tried to make a run for it, but she was ready. Vines shot out of the ground and latched onto him, pulling him down.

"You know I can get out of this, right?" Silva said.

"I dare you to, and for the next few weeks, you'll have to deal with all your work by yourself," she threatened, and immediately she said that, Silva kept quiet.

"Good. Now, you've done enough damage, and you still have a chunk of things to do. Just give Drake the report on what you have observed from the guns and allow him to take it from there."

"Fine. Well, the guns are pretty good, seeing as they are really tuned-down versions of what we made. On a normal scale, the way they use the guns is really good.

Their aims were perfect, and their coordination was top-notch, not to mention the fact that they were able to stay calm under pressure.

Normally, facing me leads to panic and rushed decisions, but they were able to make the right ones. The only thing is their levels are low, and their battle experience is low.

All that would be fixed in the future as they engage in more combat. So from me, they get a passing mark. All of them did well," Silva finished.

"Hmm, when you get into this mode, you sound more like a king," Lily pointed out.

"Huh? I was just analyzing the fight. You should know I don't joke when it comes to combat. That's the one thing I really do enjoy," Silva said and left them.

Lily nodded at Drake and then followed Silva as well.
