She Asks for a Divorce Again

Chapter 4: Chapter 4 The Real Husband and Wife

After seeing off Bai Sheng'er, Shen Heyu was cloaked in exhaustion.

The liquor had drained her strength, and one thing after another had left her feeling doubly tired in heart.

As the password lock clicked open, the next second she was swept up by the man's arms around her waist.

There were no lights on inside the house, only in the dim light did she gaze upon Pei Yansi's jawline, his Adam's apple rolling, the air was diffused with a hormonal scent thread by thread.

A pair of phoenix eyes were misted with water vapor, his features were icy and sharp like the edge of a blade, tinged with strands of desire.

Only in moments like this did they resemble a true husband and wife.

After a night passed, Shen Heyu felt her body and energy were both overloaded.

She licked her dry lips and turned her head to look at the man next to her.

Under the ambiguous light, Pei Yansi was wearing golden thread glasses, his deep features sharp and full of tension. He slightly turned his head, a far cry from his usual indifference in front of others.

After the event, even the amber depth of his pupils harbored a few rare, undisguised tender emotions.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his voice a few shades hoarser, yet still maintaining his usual sharpness.

"If it's about ALI, stop thinking about it."

Unable to move, Shen Heyu only slightly raised her eyebrows, "I was just wondering how you view Bai Sheng'er."

Upon saying this, she distinctly felt Pei Yansi's body stiffen.

Pei Yansi flipped off the covers and picked up clothes from the floor.

Clearly, he had no intention of staying the night.

"Do you like her very much?" Shen Heyu pressed.

Pei Yansi gave Shen Heyu a sidelong glance; the emotion in his eyes had receded, more like a warning to her prying.

"Yes."

As straightforward as a swift knife, precisely stabbing into Shen Heyu's heart.

She forced a smile, hollow and self-mocking: "Then why do you need me to solve it for you? It seems you haven't touched her yet."

He had already dressed, leaning casually on the doorframe, lighting a cigarette with an impassive air.

His foreboding gaze fixed unwavering on Shen Heyu through the thin smoke.

"She is different from you; she is very well-behaved, and also too young."

"Can't bear to."

What a difference, what a reluctance to part with.

Shen Heyu's smile grew even more strained as the pain in her chest deepened.

When she was the same age as Bai Sheng'er, she didn't recall Pei Yan ever showing her the least bit of tenderness.

"Sounds like you've placed her right at the top of your heart," Shen Heyu said with a smile that made her eyes start to tear up. She took a deep breath to ease the rawness in her throat.

"So, why not be willing to divorce?"

"Such a good girl, don't you plan to give her a status?"

Suddenly, he exhaled a large plume of smoke, and as the smoke dispersed, the man's dark eyes became even more intense.

His sharp presence swept away all the room's ambiguous atmosphere.

Tense as a drawn sword, ready to spring.

"I suppose she also knows about our relationship. For such a pure jasmine-like girl, do you think it's fair to make her an unnamed mistress?"

"Pei Yansi, I want a divorce."

The dull pain at the bottom of her heart had accumulated to its peak; she even felt that saying each word was unbearably suffocating.

Pei Yansi narrowed his eyes, tossed the cigarette in his hand, and crossed the room toward her.

His domineering presence mixed with the potent scent of tobacco was sharp and aggressive.

Up close, she could see the towering fury in his eyes.

"Shen Heyu, don't even think about it," Pei Yansi said as he grasped her cheek and pulled her toward him.

Shen Heyu felt tightness in her chest and an overwhelming rush of blood and sweetness rising to her throat.

She lacked her usual strength and sharpness, always small and meek before him.

But today, she could bear no more, raising her voice in an attempt to mask the nasal sound in her words.

"Pei Yansi, when will you let me go? When can we divorce!"

She asked hoarsely, her long-suppressed tears falling unexpectedly.

But her tears could not elicit the slightest pity from the man.

Instead, Pei Yansi was thoroughly ignited by her questioning, his towering figure looming over her like a mountain collapsing, an instantly chilling oppressive aura enveloped her.

This brought Shen Heyu to the utmost agony.

"Shen Heyu, have I been spoiling you too much lately that you've forgotten what you did before?"

"Those sins, I want you to repay by my side for the rest of your life."

"A despicable woman like you, don't even dream of half a moment of happiness. You will never escape, not even in death!"

As he spoke, he leaned down to kiss her, with a heavy sense of punishment, not with the previous tenderness, this time it was even more rough and fierce.

It was the atonement he spoke of, the punitive wrath of his towering fury.

Shen Heyu struggled to push him away, but was restrained by one of his hands.

Already weak and uncomfortable, she had no strength to match his.

Her phoenix eyes were blood-red, tears streaming down.

"Pei Yansi, I've said before that your sister's incident had nothing to do with me!"

Pei Yansi's eyes were swirling with rage, his tone was like poison-tipped ice, "Shen Heyu, you still dare to argue now, but it was obviously a text from you that led her to the factory, and afterwards, she was... and died. How dare you say it wasn't you!"

"It wasn't me... really, it wasn't..." Shen Heyu's body was in extreme pain, her mouth filled with the taste of blood, tears could not stop flowing.

"Shen Heyu, just sit in Mrs. Pei's position until you die, for the rest of your life, we'll go to hell together!"

Pei Yansi's voice seemed to truly come from hell, causing Shen Heyu's heart to slowly die.

Her eyes filled with tears, the more she struggled, the more fiercely she was restrained, until all her strength was drained.

He seemed to want to squeeze her dry of flesh and blood, grinding even her soul beneath him.

Shen Heyu was tormented until she passed out, and when she woke up it was already midnight.

Pei Yansi had left, only leaving behind a tearing pain in her lower body, making Shen Heyu painfully aware that what had transpired was not a nightmare.

She chuckled at herself mockingly, shaking her head.

Numb like a walking corpse, she ordered an ointment for delivery.

But by the time the ointment arrived, her wounds seemed to be void of sensation.

She weakly toyed with the ointment, tears inexplicably gushing forth as she rolled over to sleep.

The long night dragged on, alone licking her wounds, pitiful and disheveled.

The next day, when Shen Heyu awoke, she received a call from the Pei Mansion.

Madam Pei wanted her to come home for a family banquet.

Shen Heyan changed into a proper outfit, trying her best to cover the scars from yesterday.

Upon arriving at the mansion, she saw no sign of Pei Yansi; she silently brought a gift to Madam Pei.

Madam Pei was a kind and gentle grandmother, one of the few who still treated her tenderly after the incident years ago.

After showing her concern, Madam Pei also explained the reason for having her over for dinner.

"Xiao Yu, I know you and Ah Yan are both busy with work, but grandma really wants to hold a grandchild in her arms, you don't know how that old lady from the Sun Family brags to me all the time!"

Shen Heyu's chopsticks came to a halt, her eyes dimming.

Though she and Pei Yansi often had relations, Pei Yansi was extremely cautious and always took safety measures.

He hated her so much, would he ever let her bear his child?

"It's my body that's not cooperating."

Shen Heyu didn't blame Pei Yansi, but just smiled through the discussion.

Madam Pei, however, looked at her with eyes full of sympathy, taking Shen Heyu's hands, "Xiao Yu, I know the incident from that year is a barrier between you and Ah Yan, but grandma believes in you, you didn't do that thing, you're a good kid."

"The innocent shall clear themselves, and you should not think so lowly of yourself because of those misunderstandings. Getting pregnant is a matter for two people, and what's really going on, grandma has an idea."

"Grandma believes in you."

In an instant, her fragile nerves seemed to collapse.

Tears gushed down.

She had never thought that in this world, there would still be someone who believed in her.

Even her own parents, because of that incident years ago, were now unwilling to associate with her.
