Run Away from My alpha a thousand times

Chapter 9: 9. I am not marrying him..

The next morning, after finishing her breakfast, Lucia heard the doorbell ring.

She padded over to the door and opened it, only to find no one there. Instead, a package sat neatly on the floor, her name scrawled across the front.

Bringing it inside, she opened the box and found a note tucked inside:

"Wear it. I'll be there to pick you up in thirty. — Kaiden Cross."

Rage bubbled inside her. This man was insane!

She dragged the package to the couch and flopped down beside it, peeking anxiously through the curtains every few minutes.

Exactly thirty minutes later, a sleek black car pulled up in front of the house. Her phone dinged.

The message chilled her:

"I'm already at your residence. Be downstairs in five, or you're going to court one hundred million compensation required immediately."

Lucia groaned, tossing the phone away.

"She couldn't believe how petty he could be"

With trembling hands, she opened the box again. Inside was a white dress, simple, elegant, yet undeniably a wedding dress.

Kaiden Cross...

Her breath caught. Of course — Cassandra used to swoon over him constantly. The ruthless, untouchable CEO. The man no one dared cross.

And now he wanted to marry her?

She thought that there was enough girls swoon after him, does he knows..

Heart pounding, she hurried into the dress, wincing as she scraped her hand against the doorframe. She rushed down the stairs, out the front door. She did not even have time to make her hair or put on any makeup on.

She simply put on a lipgloss trying to look as natural as possible.

Maybe that would throw him off

The driver quickly stepped out and opened the passenger door for her.

Taking a shaky breath, she climbed in, sitting as close to the door as humanly possible.

Kaiden glanced at her — his sharp green eyes gleaming with something unreadable. He could practically taste her nervousness.

But then... blood.

His wolf stirred, sensing it. His gaze locked onto the scrape along her hand. Without a word, he reached for her wrist, pulling it toward him.

She recoiled at his touch.

"It's fine," she whispered.

Ignoring her, Kaiden ordered the driver, "Stop at a pharmacy. Get disinfectant. Now."

He had no intention of letting anything happen to her , his mate. His woman. Whether she liked it or not. She was his to take care of.

She might hate him today, but soon… she would be bound to him completely.

The soft sound of piano music drifted through the church, gentle and elegant.

The priest stood at the podium, gazing solemnly at the bride and groom before him.

Lucia's mind spun. Her heart hammered in her chest.

How had this happened? How could she be standing here, about to marry a man she barely knew, a man who terrified her?

As the vows began, the priest's voice rang out:

"Kaiden Cross, do you take Lucia Hemingway as your lawful wife?"

"Yes."

Kaiden's voice was deep, unwavering. A ripple of admiration passed through the unfamiliar crowd.

"Lucia Hemingway, do you take Kaiden Cross as your lawful husband?"

Her throat dried. Her heart pounded louder.

"No," she said finally, firm.

Yet the priest continued as though her words had meant nothing. The crowd remained silent, unmoved.

When the priest asked them to seal the vows with a kiss, Lucia snapped.

She tore the veil from her head, storming away from the podium.

"I am not marrying him!" she shouted.

Gasps and whispers filled the church.

"What is going on?"

"Is she crazy?"

"She rejected Kaiden Cross?"

"She seduced him , and now refuses to marry him? Shameless!"

Tears burned in Lucia's eyes. Her legs trembled as cruel words pierced her.

If only they knew, this marriage wasn't her choice.

Still, Kaiden stood tall on the podium, completely unaffected. His icy gaze remained fixed on the cross at the altar. His expression was cold, unreadable.

The crowd grew louder.

"She already said the vows, it's too late."

Lucia couldn't take another second.

She bolted from the church, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Outside, she flagged down a taxi and hurried home.

Alone in her room, she grabbed her phone.

Still no reply from Will.

Why today, of all days?

She typed another message, tossed the phone aside, and screamed into her pillow.

Her once quiet life was in shambles.

And just as she began to calm down, her phone buzzed again.

Dread filled her.

"You can run today, But tomorrow… I'm coming for you." — Kaiden Cross.
