Reincarnated, we get strong weapons and become heroes.

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Phew, no unneccessary costs...

Scenery changed to a mountain peak. It was a little windy, their hair swaying to the side.

- This is your construct?

- Duh, you know who you used Ionsai on or not?

- Shut up.

Monadias had the gem near his right side. It was almost transparent, like glass.

- I have advantage on attack.

- Oh? Then what are you standing there for?

- I want to talk to you and you just dodge every sentence. No chit-chat, no nothing, you are awful.

- I heard that quite a few times already.

- I guess it was from the gauntlets guy.

- Not only, but he is a major contributor.

- Hah... You know, I also fought for the sake of beastpeople that were enslaved by the nobility, but it was useless. It was uncurable, whatever that enslavement is, but now that you magically healed it and I gave up fighting for them, mostly because of the bullying and my mothers death, I just wanted to get back at you for not coming earlier.

- No hard feelings here, either.

- Great. Thank you for understanding.

As she started to attack, the wind blew strong. Strong enough to push her while she stood.

- Have you been holding back?

- No accidental killing from me.

- So I should do my best then.

As she helped herself close the distance with her fans, she was met with a barrage of attacks. She dodged them, but couldn't proceed to go further.

[What should I do? Normal formations won't work, so maybe I can... no, he is not holding back, I can't go all in like this... what should I do?]

***

- I can't, my brain is getting fried because of this. I want them to do something else midway, but they just don't...

- Then maybe don't try to force them to do things. Remember, your weapon wasn't used for fighting before.

- How would that work? They are flying, and I don't control them?

- Just think on how you want it to go beforehand and then focus on something else. Your brain should adjust to the pattern with time, so that it does it automatically. And learn that pattern yourself, use it, and when you are good at it already, make a new one, and grow in strength. It's similiar to dancing, you don't go and perform everything perfectly in the first try. Formation is like a dance arrangement, you have to follow it, or it will be counted as a mistake.

- But what if I can't master a pattern? Should I do it till it's perfected?

- Perfection is different for other people, so try to make a definition of it yourself. Make, maybe three patterns and use them as you wish, and if you think you have mastered them enough, go and think of new ones.

- Okay! I will make them similar so that I can train easier!

- It should come to you naturally, you are a birn dancee afterall. Adjust yourself to your weapon, and grow stronger as you understand it more. You have quite the potential with them, but you can still chang....

- No! I will manage....

***

[I need something new, something that would be effective, but also usable in different scenarios. Okay, got it!]

- Formation four!

She then threw her fans at rapid speed. They went in a straight line, but they were accelerating with time. Monadias dodged them, but a speck of hair did fall from his head.

- Come back!

[Good, maybe something like this? This one will be harder, but still. I need something to help me close the distance.]

- Formation five!

Her fans then created a walking path, like stairs, that she used to get closer and higher.

[Okay, it's good. I need to make it a little slower, because it was hard to keep up, but it was okay.]

As some more arrows were flying towards her, she said.

- Formation six!

Her fans started spinning fast, making her some kind of shield, following her, while she was still in motion.

[Woah! I acted instinctively now, turns out my fans can follow my movements, even if just a little

Maybe it's due to the increase in potential through Ionsai and overall higher potential, but wow. I didn't think I could do something like that!]

As she didn't have antyhing below her feet, she started falling, but she was just above Monadias's head, so she was going in the right direction.

Monadias was watching her fall down, like a star from skies. He then dashed away from her landing spot. As she landed, she started chasing after him again.

- Formation seven!

She started running at full speed through the skies with fans covering for her feet.

[Okay, this is most definitely too fast! I might slip any second now!]

- Spiral shot!

A big spiral was flying towards her.

- Formafion six!

It was blocked, but not fully. She took some damage from that, but still was running at full speed. Or at least flying, now.

- Formation seven!

Her feet felt ground again, or well, her fans. She has closed some distance, but Monadias was still outside of range to do anything that could hurt him or his crystal, but to her surprise, it was Monadias who closed the distance. He dashed forward, to her left, trying to catch her off guard. Her reaction was good enough to dodge first shots, but as she lost balance with her fans, she was falling and got wounded badly.

She was at that point at 65% potential, but she knew she grew in strength thanks to this fight.

[I am too weak to get closer. Maybe I should have learnt more....But still. I understand my fans more now. It's not that they have to go somewhere where I don't have control. I can use them as something that helps me, like a shield or a walking path. It still is tricky, but manageable.]

As she was near the ground, she was pierced with arrows again. She lost her conciusness and woke up in the real world.

[Huh, that was a mistake, but he is holding back now, because we are in the real world. I feel weaker but now is the only chance I got at attacking him.]

As she tried to attack, she was nearly hit in the head with an arrow.

- Hey, Handeron! I think I now get how to fight without accidentally killing someone. Look!

His arrow was flying straight for her head, with such speed she wouldn't dodge it in time, but the arrow stopped right before her face, and a little wind blew on her instead.

- See? I can just reduce the power in the last second if it seems that it may kill and it's all good.

- So you learned something... Good to hear, but you still need to win.

- Oh, yeah. And also, she used some different attacks, I didn't see them before.

- Your opponent can also grow stronger when fighting.

- Ooh, right.

He then aimed at her, ready for her move.

[I can't move. Maybe there is a chance that he misses, but my body won't cooperate. It doesn't want to get hit by that spiral move now, huh? That would most certainly make me an amputee.]

- Are you going to stand there? Come on, fight!

- I won't. If you want to win, I giv-

She was interrupted by a person appearing in front of her. Her hair, moving due to the wind. Slaine wasn't happy, not at all.

- Hey, what do you think you are doing... attacking a student like that?

- She attacked me first!

Slaine looked at the girl. Her eyes demanding answers.

- He is right, I attacked first but it was them that were above the law!

- What did they do, Nainsi?

- They... somehow made a slave of a noblesman free.

- Huh? Then why would you attack and not head towards me?

- She at first lost consciousness, and was taken by the man in the gauntlets, but as I wanted to take her from them, I was stopped by the other one with the bow. It really seemed like she is being kidnapoed!

Slaine looked over at both Monadias and Handeron. As she was looking, a person emerged from the ruined shop in on the side.

- Hey, you! You will pay for that!

As she tried attacking Nainsi, she was catched by Handeron. She tried resisting, but to no effect.

- Let go, I will absolutely crush he...

- Stop it, it's not the time and besides, I won't let you do that.

Handeron then turned towards Slaine. She approached them, and asked:

- Is it true?

- Yep, but ask Monadias about it. I don't know stuff.

She looked over at Monadias. He was a little full of himself after the win, but Handeron with a quick poke on his stomach made him think about what he is gping to tell, and he started talking with sense.

Slaine was a little surprised at his statement, but she knew what she should do.

- Nobody mention anything about this to anybody without my approval. I will tell appropiate people about this, so that we do something with a power like that. I will resolve the situation with the noblesman. Now, Nainsi, when your shift starts, come to my office and we will do some paperwork. And about that girl... We will hide her at the Adventurers Guild.

- Okay, Miss Slaine!

She then disappeared from there, as fast as she appeared, and took the beastwoman with her. Handeron, Monadias and Nainsi were left there.

Handeron approached her, and extended his hand.

- My name is Handeron, and that guy you fought earlier is Monadias. Sorry for the trouble. I think you were right attacking us, but it turned out badly, so I apologize.

- Oh, no, no problem. I actually enjoyed fighting against him. I got a little stronger, you know?

- He told me about some new formations. I believe that you should do more physical training for this to be even more effective, but I am not an expert.

- Um, thank you, I will check that out.

Soon Monadias came over and they had a little chit-chat. Not too long after that people started appearing, trying to repare what they could.

- Shouldn't we pay for all that?

- It's the owners of this city's job to repay damages done by official forces fighting.

- I broke some walls not fighting with you. Does that count?

- Don't worry, Miss Slaine and I will take care of it.

Handeron felt relieved, while Monadias was smiling and rubbing his hands, like he just scammed someone.

- No unneccessary costs, yay!

- Do you even have anything that you could pay with?

- Nope.

Handeron sighed at that response. People looked at them with weird expressions, but Nainsi explained that this was just a misunderstanding. After they left the scene, they all walked together for a while, Handeron and Monadias were heading for the gates, while Nainsi was walking back to her home with her robe once again over her. She was talking mostly to Handeron, because Monadias thought it was too awkward to talk to a person, that wasn't too long ago his opponent.

- ...And that's all about me. It's not much, but I do my best!

- And what about that logo on your battlesuit?

- Oh, it's the logo of the most prestigous weapon mastery university in Daonna. I attend it, and currently have a apprenticeship here. I am near the end of my second year - one more and I can work in every city in Daonna. Still, I am kind of disappointed in where I was sent, because this place is so peaceful, that I don't really need to do anything besides paperwork. Also, there aren't many adventurers and if there are, they are 10% potential on their weapons or less, so I sometimes had to go do some quests here and there. But still, it's nice. I can earn some money through dancing... Oh, that's my place. If you want go head for the quest you got from the adventurers guild, go straight on from here and there should be the east gate.

- Great, thanks. See you!

- Hah, see you too!

As Handeron and Monadias left the city they headed for the mountains that weren't far from there.

- So we come back there?

- Nope.

- Then what?

- Turns out that there are mountains in the east, and a mountain on the west. We were lucky, because if you said something like: "We were living on a mountain nearby", we wouldn't probably have peace. That place is forbidden to enter, with threat of dying, so if we told them that we lived there, they would be suspicious of us, so we wou..

- Blah, blah, blah, yea I got it, I am just that good at making stories. How do you even know it all?

- She told me all the stuff about that place, when I asked her where should we go to handle the wuest you took.

- Yea, I guess.

- Besides, maybe we should try sparing sometime, like, tommorrow or something.

- Why?

- So that you can learn how to fight, how to use your skills and find advantages. It took you one loss to figure out Nancies techniques, and it's a one loss too much.

- Yeah, yeah, blah, blah. We should hurry up, I want to have a rest.

- So no talking, and we have a race?

Monadias didn't respond, and flew right after Handeron said that. He did that even though both of them knew that he was faster. Handeron sighed, but smiled a second after it, and soon enough he ran after him.
