Reincarnated in a Light Novel

Chapter 15: Fight For Your Life! 1

Eclair brought the container towards the forest, he felt like walking towards the child's location. Though he furrowed a brow after thinking that he couldn't keep calling the kid 'child' forever.

Whilst walking towards the location of the child, Eclair checked her condition, she was still staying in a certain spot he couldn't add more conditions to the technique lest it would fall.

He created his Art with food in mind, after all when it comes to presentation, most of the time a mold is needed. Especially when it comes to sweets, when Eclair decided to solidify his Art it only had one restriction.

To never use on a living being, after all, his Art is quite powerful. Besides, his Art could not shape everything to what he wanted. There are limits. You can't just make a cake castle without losing integrity, no.

If his conditions on a technique were too absurd, like, having a magic bolt that expands as it goes further away, it would work after he shot it outwards but at some point, it would just vanish. Why? The essence imbued in the attack wouldn't be able to sustain it, simple.

Omi may be a magical thing, but it is not unreasonable, have enough of it and it may create a miniature sun, Eclair was sure theres a Grand-Sorcerer that does that somewhere.

Speaking of Grand Socerers, the title 'Grand' is only bestowed to a limited few, despite thousands of Sorcerers out there, only a few have that title.

Before Eclair could sink any deeper into his thoughts, he looked forward to his surroundings, checking how far he was from the location of the child. Thankfully, he wasn't that far off, he could already hear the river stream of the river nearby.

As Eclair approached his destination, he froze, stunned by the sight of an eerily familiar figure heading his way. His brows furrowed as he recognized the fisherman in the distance. Furthermore, Eclair's defences rose as he felt miasma coming off the man.

"Well, this is a surprise, I didn't know that the sorcerer would come to me instead."

Eclair instinctively raised his Guard, Omi surging to reinforce his skin. He barely registered the movement before an eel lashed out, striking his neck with terrifying speed. The blow sent him flying into a tree, which shattered and fell under the impact.

Eclair groaned, an eel biting down his neck with serrated teeth, thanks to him raising his guard the Eel didn't dig deep. He clasped the creature off tearing it off his skin.

'This is bad.'

Eclair couldn't tell how bad the situation was, in the future of the light novel, Demon Taming is a thing, where a Sorcerer makes a pact with the demon, allowing Fusion of both man and demon to happen.

However, aside from Taming, theres another opposite thing that Demons have used over the years, the sole reason why trying Demon Taming has been pushed back. Demon Possession.

The reason why this was so dangerous is only one reason. Like Demon Taming, where the Sorcerer could fuse with their demon and use their abilities, Demon Possession is the same except the Demon is in control.

It is especially dangerous if the Demon and Sorcerer are compatible, what's worst is that if the vessel of the demon hasn't made an Art yet, the Demon could force one instead, making Demon possession much more dangerous.

Though that doesn't happen a lot, Eclair glared at the Fisherman, it was clear that the Fisherman allowed the possession to happen. After all, a pact only happens with consent even if it's coercion.

The Demon, or rather, Wilson the fisherman looked down at Eclair. He would stand no chance if the demon was a high-rank demon, middle class? He could run away from it.

"My dear vessel really hated you, you know?" Wilson knelt on one knee as he gazed at Eclair at eye level.

Wilson chuckled, his grin so wide it threatened to split his face in two. His eyes scanned Eclair again and he couldn't help but laugh heartily.

"Oh sorcerer, how unfortunate of you."

Wilson stood up, one of his hands bubbling and twisting as it morphed into a dark eel. He smirked, letting the creature snap its jaws twice as if savouring the moment.

Before Wilson could strike, Eclair swiped his hand to deflect the eel and leapt back. The creature veered off course, but Wilson followed, his movements unnervingly fluid and deliberate

As Eclair dashed from tree to tree, he wondered how Wilson managed to get out of prison, it isn't the best facility but a non-sorcerer wouldn't be able to break free from metal bars.

As Wilson followed Eclair at a measured pace, Eclair could tell that he was matching his speed. Wilson was toying with Eclair. He clicked his tongue as he continued to run away, the River wasn't a good place, much less the village.

Nothing would help him there.

As Eclair veered off just right to cover himself with a tree against Wilson, an eel struck towards the tree, splinter flew left and right as the tree thick as Eclair's waist collapsed.

"Come here, boy!" Wilson sang a merry tune.

Eclair clicked his tongue, he can't escape right now. The demon was faster than him and clearly outranked any demon he had faced so far.

'Teacher, your student might be more crazy than you think.'

He couldn't run, he couldn't hide, what can he do? Eclair thought, 'I have to fight.'

Eclair has thought of his Art before, why Mold specifically? Why not just use techniques and make an original Art?

His Omi flared and crackled fiercely like a flame, once more he used Magic Bolt as a base for his cast, except this time the technique wouldn't be molded by simple conditions.

"{Means of Violence}!"

Wilson tilted his head, intrigued, as multiple arcs of energy shot towards him. His skin bubbled, his shirt shredded, and from the back of his body, a mass of eels emerged, covering him like a second skin.

Wilson whistled, clearly impressed. "That's a neat Art!"

Wilson studied the eels coiling around his body. The scales were scratched, just a surface wound, yet something about it made him uneasy—though his smile never wavered.

Eclair assessed Wilson in turn. His torso was covered in dark scales, the possession clearly a two-way bond. There was only one way to deal with that. With a swift slash, he sent arcs of energy toward Wilson.

Wilson lunged, and Eclair quickly dashed away, releasing one or two slashes at a time as they played their deadly game of tag. Every time Eclair moved, Wilson matched his pace, landing with perfect precision, striking with one of his eel-like appendages.

Eclair continued to retreat, countering with his own slashes. But Wilson had been observing carefully.

'This boy's been gathering Omi in one hand… Think I won't notice?'
