Reborn With A Wizard System

Chapter 69: The Bloodwalker’s Legacy

Lyle sat beneath the courtyard's broken watchtower, his eyes on the Codex, fingers absently tracing the outline of the ring.

Three days remained.

The gate would open soon.

And he still didn't know what he was walking into.

Or what would walk out.

---

Juno found him there, silent as ever, a thin leather-bound tome in her hand.

She didn't speak.

Just dropped the book into his lap.

He glanced at the cover.

No title.

No markings.

Just the feel of age.

Old enough to remember things the world wanted forgotten.

---

He opened it—and stopped.

The symbol.

Two fangs. A curved blade. A ring wrapped around the center.

His ring.

> Q.T.G. – The Bloodwalker.

Traveler between worlds. Bearer of the Shadow Core. Slayer of the Starborn.

Status: Missing. Legacy: Unsealed.

"…Where did you find this?" he asked.

"Archive level three. Someone didn't seal it well."

He turned the page.

More names.

More sigils.

Warnings.

And then—

A phrase, underlined in red.

> "If the Bloodwalker's mark reappears, the barriers between threads will weaken.

And the one who inherits it will be hunted by both origin and echo."

Juno sat beside him.

"You're being hunted."

Lyle nodded.

"I figured."

"You going to tell me the rest now?"

He looked up.

At her.

At the ring.

At the Codex glowing faintly in his lap.

"…I think it's time."

---

He told her about the sigils under the Academy.

The whisper from beyond.

The first anchor.

The creature they'd fought.

And how the Codex had started listening differently since the ring touched it.

He didn't lie.

But he couldn't explain everything.

Because deep down… he didn't understand it yet.

Not all of it.

Not himself.

---

Juno didn't interrupt.

She just listened.

Until finally, when he finished, she asked only one question:

> "Are you going through the gate?"

Lyle looked down at the ring.

> [Gate Activation Countdown: 2 days, 19 hours]

"Yes."

She nodded.

"Then I'm going with you."

---

That night, something stirred beneath the second anchor.

Not a creature.

Not a ghost.

Just a ripple of power.

A reaction.

Because the Bloodwalker's ring had been activated.

And in the world that waited beyond,

Quinn was watching.

Waiting.

Preparing.

> "I told you I'd leave a path," he whispered.

"Now let's see who's strong enough to walk it."
