Chapter 52: Volume 1: Chapter 53 - I'm Pregnant
A storm of magical energy erupted from the Holy Lance. Artoria aimed the lance directly at Morgan in the sky, and a violent gale instantly sent the surrounding trees rustling, threatening to engulf Morgan.
However, at the very moment the storm was about to reach her, Morgan's figure suddenly blurred.
Immediately after, the single figure suddenly multiplied into more than a dozen, scattered across the sky. Each figure was identical to Morgan, down to their clothing and the fluctuations of their magical energy.
"What?!"
A look of surprise appeared on the pretty face beneath the helmet. Artoria watched as one Morgan was struck by the Holy Lance's storm, only for a dozen more to appear in an instant, leaving her momentarily stunned.
But she quickly recovered, frowning.
"Clones again? I'd like to see how many clones you have!"
The heart of the red dragon began to beat violently in her chest once more. With each breath, immense magical energy gathered on the Holy Lance again.
But before Artoria could raise her lance, the numerous Morgans in the sky began a high-speed incantation.
In an instant, orbs of magical energy of the four elements—earth, water, fire, and wind—gathered on each Morgan's staff. Without hesitation, they all fired at Artoria simultaneously!
—BOOM!
A violent explosion, accompanied by flying dust, filled the air.
But Morgan seemed to sense something at that moment. She pursed her lips and muttered to herself.
"To think she would be acknowledged by the Holy Lance. Just where does this woman get her luck..."
The moment her words fell, the dust-filled ground was instantly cleared. A violent, swirling current of air, with Artoria's Holy Lance at its center, swept across the sky from the ground up, immediately annihilating several of Morgan's clones!
Morgan waved the staff in her hand lightly. Although Artoria arriving with the Holy Lance had indeed been beyond her expectations, as a witch who had inherited the "Power of the Island," her abilities did not end there.
The magic circles that had already been laid out around the castle were activated with a wave of her staff.
Artoria felt a tremor from the earth. As a look of vigilance appeared on her face, a massive stone arm suddenly burst forth from the ground in front of her, forcing her to instinctively steer her horse to dodge.
Subsequently, a giant made entirely of earth and rock slowly emerged from the ground, straightened up, and stood upon the land.
Of course, there wasn't just one giant like this.
To Artoria's left and right, two more earth-and-rock giants emerged.
The three giants formed a triangular formation. Combined with the numerous Morgans in the sky, all of Artoria's escape routes, except for the path she came from, were completely sealed off.
"Golems? You've really prepared thoroughly... As I thought, you've been plotting against En ever since last time!"
Artoria looked up at the sky and questioned her sternly.
But all the Morgans just let out a light laugh and said in unison.
"I don't know what you're talking about. This is just a standard defensive measure. What, did you lose your little brother and now you want to blame someone else?"
"Oh, of course, it's also possible that En has simply grown tired of you, and that's why he came back with me. After all, do you really think that child is so easily knocked out by a spell?"
The Holy Lance in Artoria's hand trembled, and her heart clearly wavered for a second.
Seeing this, Morgan unhesitatingly ordered the giant golems to attack while she herself began to cast magic again.
—So easy to fool. And with that, you think you're fit to sit on the throne and keep that child by your side.
A flash of disdain crossed Morgan's eyes as she instantly released dozens of magical attacks. Looking down at Artoria, who was about to be engulfed by the six giant golem fists and the light of magic, she could almost imagine her opponent's miserable defeat.
But at that moment, a sense of emptiness suddenly surged through her heart, and she subconsciously recalled the words the innocent-faced boy had said to her that morning.
—[If that's the case, then couldn't you just go to Camelot, Miss Morgan? As long as you can get along with Sister, you can see us anytime.]
Hmph, such a naive suggestion. Even if I were to go, I'd first make sure this woman Arthur fails like a dog. Only then would the hatred in my heart be appeased.
After all, losing the throne is one thing, but I can't let all the good things fall into her lap!
A brief moment of hesitation flickered in her azure eyes, and Morgan involuntarily relaxed the output of her magical energy slightly.
But in that instant, a dignified voice suddenly rang out from the ground below, which was about to be consumed by the attack.
"Shine, O Lance at the World's End (Rhongomyniad)!!!"
"Wha—"
A look of astonishment appeared on her pretty face. In the next second, a storm of light that seemed to tear the sky apart completely engulfed Morgan's vision.
"Sister, she... why did she come here? Is everything really alright back in Camelot?"
Not understanding why Merlin hadn't stopped Artoria, Aozaki Rin felt that although he had been taken to Orkney by Morgan, he hadn't encountered any real danger. And once he regained his mobility after three days, he would immediately rush back.
Of course, his sister would probably worry about his safety in the process, but compared to that, the situation in Camelot, with its constant battles, was clearly more important.
But now was not the time to consider these things. Aozaki Rin clearly remembered the words Artoria had shouted from outside the castle just now.
Although he didn't know why things had turned out this way, a fight between sisters was something that absolutely had to be stopped.
He tugged at the chain on his arm with some difficulty. With a clattering sound, the chain remained firmly fastened, preventing him from leaving the bed.
Anxiety began to well up in his heart. Aozaki Rin pulled at the chain with both hands, using all his strength.
Finally, at a certain moment, a mysterious pattern flashed in his unfocused golden eyes. In the next second, with a snap, the chain broke completely. The feedback force sent him tumbling off the bed.
"My strength... is it back?"
Sitting on the floor, feeling the weakness and fatigue in his body rapidly receding, Aozaki Rin blinked in confusion, but he had no time to think.
He immediately picked up Durandal, which seemed to have been conveniently placed under the bed, and, relying on his senses while carefully feeling his way, he quickly rushed toward the direction where the sounds of battle had come from.
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the castle.
Morgan leaned on her staff for support, panting slightly.
Her Mystic Code dress was torn in several places, revealing hints of fair, delicate skin. The black veil she had been wearing had been blown away somewhere in the storm of the Holy Lance.
Her ample chest heaved with each breath. Morgan glared hatefully at Artoria, who was slowly walking toward her, Holy Lance in hand, her eyes filled with resentment.
She didn't understand why she couldn't win just once, why fate was always on Arthur's side, why it was so unfair.
Could it be that she was born destined to fail...?
Her expression grew dazed. Morgan stared at the lion-helmeted knight approaching against the light, speechless for a long time.
"I don't want to make this ugly. Give me back En, behave yourself from now on, and we'll end this here for now."
The Holy Lance in her hand was pointed directly at the other's fair, slender neck. Artoria's words were serious.
After all, at the moment she had been hit by those dozens of magical attacks, she had felt it. The attacks, which should have been far more lethal, had for some reason become slightly weaker.
Seeing as Morgan seemed to have unconsciously held back, Artoria had calmed down and had not thrust her lance forward.
Morgan lowered her head in silence. A moment later, she suddenly let out a few soft laughs, then looked up at the lion-helmeted knight who seemed to be looking down on her from above. As if an idea had come to her, a scheming light flashed in her eyes.
"Hehe, I refuse. If you have the guts, then do it, Arthur."
"...Do you think I don't dare?"
Artoria's brow furrowed, and she made a motion as if to thrust the Holy Lance forward.
To her surprise, Morgan neither dodged nor evaded. Instead, she leaned forward slightly, offering her own chest to the tip of the lance.
At the very moment the Holy Lance was about to touch her skin, Morgan took a deep breath, her lips curling into a smile.
"I'm pregnant. The child is yours and En's."
"Eh?"
—The thrusting Holy Lance stopped dead in its tracks.
