Chapter 5: Episode One: Techniques
Ten was the number of heavenly blessings in this world—or at least, that was the general idea. However, that changed when you were discovered harboring the All-Seeing Eyes within your little head.
I really hated it when Sir Tobi ranted, but I had to pay attention here. The Emperor himself, Lord Luci, had commanded all instructors to teach me everything I needed to know and train me well enough to join his imperial guard. So, all of this was pretty important.
Sir Tobi continued: ten was the number, twelve was the myth. However, with your emergence, it appears the myth is true, and twelve is the real number. Tell me, boy, how much can you see with those eyes of yours?
Sir Tobi was awfully close to me right now, and I was starting to get creeped out. As he examined my eyes, I simply ceded and told him as much as I could. I could see abnormalities, including things like death and misfortune. I could see everyone's spiritual energy and accurately determine how they used it in combat.
What else? Oh yes, I could see a person's power type along with their power levels, usually ranging from 1 to 100. But when I looked at Lord Luci, all I saw was infinity.
None of my powers worked on me, and I could see all of this whether I wanted to or not. Sir Tobi smirked so hard he seemed pleased with what I had just said. He then told me to listen up; I needed to properly understand all that I saw.
Everyone intrinsically has a source of power: spiritual energy. However, not everyone can put it to use. Even those who can require a lot of training and experience to pull it off. There are five power types: objects, summoners, physicals, creatures, and exceptionals.
To start with, exceptionals can simply use every type optimally, but they are extremely rare—about 97 currently exist in the estimated 8 billion population of the Vulgax Empire. Now, let's get to the other types.
Physicals strengthen themselves, increasing their physical, mental, and spiritual strengths with their techniques. Objects strengthen weapons and other items by infusing them with spiritual energy.
Summoners have the ability to summon anything they own at command, depending on how powerful their spiritual energy is and how much sacrifice they make to attain their summoning. This includes spirit objects and animals. However, this type can be very tricky.
Creatures, as the name suggests, can control any creature they want, even humans. However, there are conditions, and it massively depends on the target and how powerful they are.
Now, onto heavenly blessings—in simple terms… I cut Sir Tobi off right there. One thing did not make any sense at all: what's the difference between someone with creatures and, um, is it summoners?
Sir Tobi chuckled. He explained that, to put it simply, summoners can only control what they summon after making a sacrifice to create the summoning. This includes objects.
People with the power of creatures don't need to do all of that, nor can they control objects. Understood? I nodded, and that was it.
He then talked to me about heavenly blessings. Heavenly blessings are special powers given to humans by God himself. We thought there were ten, but due to my emergence, it appears there are, in fact, twelve, as the legends suggest.
Number twelve is the mythical wisdom of Haidedej, like the mythical All-Seeing Eyes, which is the eleventh. It was believed to be a myth since no one has had either of these powers in centuries.
I started to think to myself: how the hell will anyone know if someone had this heavenly blessing?
Number ten is Rexa. It's very hard to explain, but in simple terms, it controls all senses of its victim. This includes the sense of balance and all other senses, not just the five common senses.
This gives the victim very powerful illusions. This power can be used from anywhere in the world, and it only needs one physical touch for activation.
Number nine is Gortha. Apparently, it takes one's opponent into a world where the wielder makes the rules, and any event that happens to the wielder's victim shall occur in reality. The wielder is only limited by their imagination.
All the wielder is required to do is have the victim look into their eyes, and that will be the end. It really is that simple. The look only has to occur once, and the ability can be activated at any point in time, even decades later.
The eighth one is Veishar. It deals mainly with time and grants its user time-based powers. The user can dictate how fast or slow time goes, see the future up to a hundred years, move faster than time, and take away or add centuries and decades to the years their opponents possess by simply fulfilling the condition of landing five hits.
They can also take their opponents to any point in time and simply leave them there. However, although the wielder of this power can go back in time, whatever they do in the past will in no way affect the future.
If they killed someone by going back in time to kill them, if the person did not die naturally back then, they shall still be alive unless killed in the present. That rule also applies to the future, but the wielder can move through both as they deem fit.
Number seven is Karax. In simple terms, it grants instantaneous and perfect healing from any attack whatsoever. This occurs even if the wielder is killed; not even death can stop it, not even existential erasure. However, all self-inflicted attacks will never heal and carry twice as much damage.
Number six is Trax, and simply put, it is the power to issue divine commands. The wielder of this power merely has to say what should or will happen, and exactly what is said will occur. Its time frame is instantaneous.
However, this power can only be used on something or someone being seen or sensed.
Number five is Lashk. All it does is grant the wielder reality-warping powers. In simple terms, reality is whatever the wielder of this power wants it to be.
Number four is Thames. In simple terms, it allows the wielder to absorb any and all abilities and energy from their opponent, including life energy. The only drawback is that absorption can only occur when physical touch is involved.
That, unfortunately, is not all. Another power this heavenly blessing gives is power nullification, which only requires seeing the wielder of the power in question using it.
Absorbed powers, however, cannot be of any use to the wielder of this heavenly blessing.
Number three is Harax. It's pretty hard to explain, but it deals with causality. Everything requires a cause; this power allows one to control, remove, and create causes as they see fit. Not much is known about this power, but that's pretty much it.
Number two is Vulgax. In simple terms, it makes one's spiritual energy infinite and is the heavenly blessing possessed by Lord Luci. One with this power can never feel fatigued and can fight for as long as they desire.
Number one is Thaloria. In simple terms, all it does is give the wielder total mind control over whoever they want to control. All that is required is eye contact. Once eye contact is maintained for a little less than a millisecond, the control can happen from anywhere and at any time.
The victim will also believe that their actions are what they want, and they would abide by the implanted commands and feelings as though they were law.
No two persons can have the same heavenly blessing, and only one person alive can have one. It's also rare for one person to have two, and the only mention of such a case is from five thousand years ago—barely verifiable. With that said, my lessons for today came to an end.
I walked out as Sir Tobi asked me to take care and read better in order to gain more knowledge. He then mentioned that one nature type can employ another one, but the technique generated from the type that isn't intrinsic to their spiritual power will be very weak and unreliable compared to those who have those types intrinsically. Unless you are one who is exceptional, only then can you have the best TECHNIQUES......
