Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 396: Chapter 613: Three-On-One

Gardevoir Hotel – Battle Field No.1

This battlefield was reserved exclusively for guests staying in the Metagross Suite.

A little past 8 a.m., Julian was conducting some light training on the field with a few of his overly energetic Pokémon—especially Arcanine.

That dog had the most energy to burn and was currently sprinting across the field while dragging several tons of weight behind him, leaving a trail of sparks and lightning in his wake.

Meanwhile, Lucario was engaged in sparring practice with Melmetal. Neither used energy-based moves, relying solely on hand-to-hand combat skills—every strike landing with solid, meaty thuds.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The sounds of impact were relentless.

As for the other Pokémon? If they weren't busy eating, they were lazing around.

For example, Aggron and Pupitar were both busy munching on ore.

Being Totem-class Pokémon, their appetites were monstrous. In just one day, they could consume 1.5 to 2 thousand kilograms of top-grade ore.

And all of it was supplied by Julian's family.

The Walker family had two signature Pokémon—the most iconic being the silver Metagross, followed closely by Aggron.

Every generation of Walker trainers had these two Pokémon in their lineup.

Aggron, in particular, was notorious for its love of all kinds of metal ores. And since many Steel-type Pokémon had at least some preference for mineral snacks, the Walker family controlled the majority of the country's mineral veins.

Though top-tier mineral deposits were exceedingly rare, the Walkers still owned over a dozen of them. None were for sale—they were strictly reserved as food for their Aggrons and other ore-loving Pokémon.

Pupitar felt that following Julian was the best decision it had ever made. Where else could it gorge itself on premium ore every single day—and to the point of being completely stuffed?

Staring at the remaining pile of high-grade ore, Pupitar let out a helpless sigh—it simply couldn't eat another bite.

Seeing this, Aggron grinned: "I win again. That makes it 80 to 0."

Pupitar, clearly unconvinced, protested: "Don't get cocky! Once I evolve, I'll win for sure."

Aggron: "Yeah? Good luck with that. You've got a while to go before that happens."

With that, it went back to munching on its own ore. It didn't touch Pupitar's share because their preferred ores differed—Aggron's was high in metal content, while Pupitar's was richer in rock minerals.

This was due to their respective typings. Of course, they could eat each other's ores, but the taste just wasn't to their liking.

The refined metal from Aggron's ore served as Melmetal's usual snack—it had a preference for pure metal.

As for Steelix, it didn't care—whether it was metallic ore, rock ore, or even pure metal, it ate everything. Though its staple food remained Pokéblocks.

The other Steel-type Pokémon weren't interested in ore at all—they fed exclusively on Pokéblocks.

Just the four of them—Aggron, Pupitar, Steelix, and Melmetal—consumed ore worth more than 10 million in a day.

As for Pokéblocks, their value couldn't even be measured in money.

"Young Master, there are two visitors named Dean and Nate requesting to see you. Should I let them in?"

A hotel attendant approached Julian and spoke respectfully.

This particular battlefield was a private, closed-off space, so outsiders couldn't enter without permission.

"Let them in," Julian nodded.

Soon, the attendant returned with the Thornton brothers in tow.

"Young Master Walker."

The brothers greeted him with respect.

"Mm."

Julian acknowledged them with a nod but said nothing further, his gaze still fixed on the battlefield.

He wasn't sure if it was because Moltres had eaten too much in the morning, or maybe it had been riled up by Lucario and Melmetal's sparring—either way, it suddenly sought out Metagross, demanding a match.

More accurately, it seemed to be eyeing the leader's spot within the team.

During its time with Julian, Moltres had consumed all kinds of rare treasures and stat-boosting supplements that boosted its six base stats. It could clearly feel that its foundations were now far stronger than before.

At this point, defeating the old version of itself would be a walk in the park.

Faced with Moltres' challenge, Metagross naturally agreed.

It needed to stretch its limbs anyway—since leaving the secret realm, the only real battle it had was against Scott's Infernape. After that, it hadn't fought at all.

Despite Moltres coming at it with everything it had, Metagross handled it with practiced ease.

The clash between the two Pokémon was intense. Even though Metagross wasn't going all out, the shockwaves from their battle caused Lucario and Melmetal to halt their training.

Even Arcanine, who had been sprinting laps around the field, had to stop.

The arena's protective barrier activated, but the ongoing shockwaves made it seem like the barrier could break at any moment.

After all, Moltres was a Pseudo-Champion, while Metagross, though officially a late-stage Elite, possessed strength solidly at the peak of Pseudo-Champion tier.

Flames roared and devoured nearly half the field. Even with the barrier up, the searing heat could still be felt from the outside.

Dean and Nate were both shocked and terrified by what they were seeing.

At the same time, their eyes burned with desire as they took in Julian's team.

Every single one of his Pokémon—forget strength—just in terms of rarity, aside from Steelix (which was relatively common), the rest were exceptionally rare.

Steelix: 'So I'm the cheap one, huh?'

And among them were:

- One Mythical Pokémon

- One Legendary Pokémon

- Two Pseudo-Legendaries

- Two Future Pseudo-Legendaries

- Two Totem-class Pokémon

After about ten minutes, Moltres was already running low on stamina. Although many of its attacks had landed, they barely scratched Metagross.

Julian, however, suddenly grew intrigued.

"Dragonite, Kartana, support Moltres!"

Dopey Dragonite's eyes lit up upon hearing this and it immediately flew into the arena. 'Three against one? Maybe we really can take down Metagross!'

Kartana: "I disdain ganging up on a single foe."

Hearing this, Julian was about to send Lucario in instead—but then Kartana added:

"Except when it's Metagross."

This guy's lifelong dream was to one day cut Metagross down with its own blade.

Sadly, that dream seemed utterly hopeless.

Now, though, with a three-on-one, maybe—just maybe—there was a glimmer of hope.

Three Musketeers vs. Metagross.

The battlefield's protective barrier was activated at maximum strength—strong enough to withstand full-power attacks from peak pseudo-Champion level Pokémon.

But running this barrier? It burned through millions in energy costs every second.

This was like burning money just to fight.

That's why most exhibition matches rarely invited Pseudo-Champion-level trainers—unless absolutely necessary. It was just too damn expensive.

Against anyone else's Pokémon, Metagross wouldn't even bat an eye at a three-on-one.

But these three? They were its teammates, fellow elites under Julian's command, each a powerhouse among their peers.

Metagross had never believed that any Pokémon at its level could defeat it—except, perhaps, its own allies.

Now, their combined assault, even Metagross' expression turned serious.

For the first time in a long while, it could feel the pressure mounting.
