Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Scyther
During the journey, Victor and Carbink defeated several wild Pokémon one after another.
Most of the Pokémon outside the forest are only around level ten, so there was no need for Carbink to help.
After defeating many wild Pokémon in succession, Litten's level reached 8.
Pokémon: Litten
Attribute: [Fire]
Gender: [♂]
Characteristics: [Intimidation]
Level: [8]
Moves: [Grab, Spark, Shout, High Five, Hot Wind, Trick, Revenge, Licking, Roaring, Scratching]
Litten has the upper hand in battle from the moment it releases its Intimidation ability. Often, wild Pokémon will be hit hard by the nimble and agile Litten after being stiffed. In the end, even if it manages to survive, it will be easily defeated by a Litten in good condition.
Litten had almost accumulated enough experience. Victor decided to put Litten away and head deeper into the forest to find ordinary-level Pokémon for Carbink to practice against.
Soon, after Victor deliberately ignored the low-level Pokémon, their exploration speed picked up considerably. After entering the forest, wild Pokémon suitable as opponents appeared.
This Pokémon was very cunning. It had been following Victor and Carbink silently, looking for an opportunity to strike.
It was a Scyther, which had been at the late stage of the ordinary level for a long time.
If Victor hadn't had the power of wave guidance, Scyther might have succeeded in its sneak attack.
However, the moment Scyther stepped into the detection range of the waveguide power, the sneak attack was doomed to fail.
After communicating with Carbink through telepathy, Victor deliberately exposed a flaw.
Sure enough, after Scyther, which had been waiting for a long time without finding an opportunity, discovered the flaw, the muscles on its streamlined body tensed, and its limbs, covered with sharp edges, moved swiftly. In no time, it appeared behind Victor silently.
Scyther raised its right paw, and the sharp claw was gradually covered by purple-black energy. It was the move [Shadow Claw].
Scyther's green pupils, which usually exuded a charming aura, now revealed a mix of pride, murderous intent, and indifference.
All of Scyther's movements were exposed to the waveguide's vision. When Scyther swung its right paw, Victor rolled ahead of time to avoid the attack range and immediately gave a command.
"Carbink, use Ancient Power!"
"Carbink!"
More than a dozen rocks formed by the Ancient Power quickly gathered around Carbink and were quickly launched.
However, Scyther, who failed to land a hit, did not panic. Its dexterous body easily dodged the rocks.
Although all the Ancient Power attacks missed, Victor remained calm. He knew that speed-type Pokémon would be harder to hit, but the strategy was simple: attract it into the attack range and use area attacks to strike from all angles.
Victor linked with Carbink and asked it to use the move Harden while waiting for Scyther to approach.
Seeing Carbink growing stronger, Scyther, which had been relaxed, became a little anxious.
After thinking for a moment, Scyther turned into a phantom and appeared behind Carbink in just a few breaths.
This time, Scyther directly used its claws, now covered in pure black energy, to activate the move [Pursuit].
Seeing Scyther take the bait, Victor did not relax and immediately commanded Carbink to launch its final move.
"Carbink, use Flash Cannon!"
"Carbink!"
The powerful beam of light shot out from Carbink's gem, hitting Scyther squarely. The attack was a direct hit, and the blast sent Scyther tumbling to the ground, knocking it out.
After dealing with Scyther, Carbink's level finally reached level 20, the beginning of the ordinary level.

---
The high-intensity battle accelerated Carbink's growth, pushing it closer to evolving into a powerful Pokémon.
Although Victor wouldn't kill the Scyther that had lost its fighting ability, he didn't plan to treat it either. He simply continued moving forward with Carbink.
Not long after, they heard the sound of trees being chopped by sharp weapons ahead.
Victor withdrew the waveguide that covered all directions and instead stretched it forward in a straight line.
A green Pokémon appeared in his waveguide.
It was a Scyther.
Scyther was a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon with a reptilian head and three separate horns. The scythes on its arms had a metallic shine, said to be as sharp as a magic weapon. It also had two pairs of small wings, sharp-edged thighs, and claws with three toes, all perfect for cutting through trees and enemies alike.
At this moment, Scyther was swinging its sickles in both hands, leaving marks on a huge tree in front of it.
The trees near Scyther showed signs of being cut down. It seemed that this forest was its territory and training ground.
Pokémon: Scyther
Attributes: [Bug, Flying]
Gender: [♂]
Features: [Technician]
Level: [30]
Moves: [Leer, Quick Attack, Double Hit, Wing Attack, Shadow Claw, Swords Dance, Agility, Pursuit, Air Slash]
This Scyther had just entered the elite level, showing that it had reached its prime and was likely the leader of a nearby group of Scyther.
The force and momentum of Scyther's every slash showed that it was not just an elite Pokémon in name but a seasoned warrior.
Victor was somewhat tempted when he saw such an excellent Scyther.
To be honest, Victor coveted its power and hoped to capture it. But before doing that, there must be a battle.
Victor called upon Carbink and walked toward the direction where Scyther was.
