Otaku Witch

Chapter 57: 51. God and the Mortal_2

"Actually, Miss, if you were to go down to the surface, you'd find that many of the otherworldly races who haven't seen a real witch before still think that we witches all have three heads and six arms, green faces and fangs, much like the monster that is a demon,"

Upon hearing such an explanation, Dorothy's mouth twitched.

So, just how terrifying must witches have been on the battlefield to leave such a deep-seated and inherited impression of fear in these otherworldly races? It's as if the fear of witches is etched directly into their DNA.

"And the main reason?"

She pressed on.

The pure-white girl tilted her head but didn't answer directly. Instead, she posed a question to Dorothy.

"Miss, has anyone ever told you that you seem to lack a bit of self-awareness?"

"Uh... "

Dorothy was even more confused by this bizarre question.

What a joke. I've always been well aware of myself, thank you very much. I reflect on myself at least thrice a day, constantly reminding myself not to get carried away. Just look at me, a transmigrator who never dares to act like the protagonist of the world. Isn't that self-aware enough?

She was getting a little angry now and glanced at the Angel Witch beside her, who always seemed to make odd and insinuating remarks about her.

"No way. I'm very clear about my own awareness," Dorothy protested.

"Then what's your self-awareness about yourself?" Sophia asked again. Read new adventures at empire

"It's of course that of a little witch who couldn't be more ordinary. Oh, but now I'm not that ordinary. I have to admit, I've become a newly minted super-rich second-generation," replied Dorothy without much thought.

However, the expression on the pure-white girl's face said it all as she shook her head.

Sure enough, you really lack self-awareness. In that case, what do you think is the relationship between us witches and these otherworldly races?

Sophia threw another question at her.

"Obviously, it's the relationship between rulers and the ruled. Hm, it's probably only a bit better than that of masters and slaves," Dorothy considered carefully before answering.

But the Angel Witch just smiled and said nothing, her magic power swirling around her.

Infinite Holy Light radiated from her body, and the tiny Angel-type Armored Beast named Angela flew out from her, transforming into a suit of dazzling Holy Order golden armor that covered the pure-white girl's body.

Then, those sacred and blinding pure-white six wings unfolded behind Sophia, and as the wings symbolizing angelic power spread out, powerful magic began to erode reality, affecting the world in reverse.

As a result, a series of phenomena began to occur.

First came the Holy Song from an unknown place, sung by the purest of boys and girls. Just listening to it made one yearn and aspire for something more.

Then the phantom of heaven unfolded behind the pure-white girl, where majestic mountains and endless temple phantoms began to emerge. Dorothy recognized them as the center of heaven, the home of angels mentioned in history books—the scenes of Heaven Mountain that witches once stormed, a palatial residence so luxurious that mortals couldn't even dream a fraction of its splendor.

And within every temple on that Heaven Mountain resided an angel, each so powerful that even the hyperbole of legend couldn't fully describe a fraction of their might.

However, when Sophia arrived at the peak temple of Heaven Mountain, all the angels bowed their heads in reverence upon seeing her, fervent and zealous as if believers were witnessing their supreme deity.

Especially at the end, when that enormous halo symbolizing angelic authority appeared above the pure-white girl's head like a crown, the entire Heaven Mountain shook.

It was an earthquake caused by all the angels kneeling.

"Holy, holy..."

The terrifying power of the fervent prayers of countless mighty angels, even across worlds, was enough to shake one's heart and cast a fearsome pressure over the entire city.

So in that moment, the Six-Winged King of Seraphs descended upon the world like a myth, and Sophia became the focus of the whole world, the center of attention.

It took Dorothy quite some time to recover from the shock of witnessing the heavenly spectacle, and it was only now that she fully realized just how powerful the pure white girl, her mother's assigned housemate and nearly her fiancée, truly was.

Hiss... the duel before, she must have been holding back big time. How could what I defeated before be something like this? Is this what Sophia looks like when she goes all out with her strength? Is this the kind of might befitting a Great Witch Level?

Damn, someone tells me now this is the Divine King alive and I'd believe it.

But sister, I call you Angel sister, can we keep it down a bit? Isn't this a bit too ostentatious, I feel like quite a few big shots can't take this.

It was her excessively sharp senses that made the mistake again, as Dorothy could clearly feel countless gazes being cast from all over the Academy toward them. It was evident that Sophia's sudden display had caught the attention of the Academy's bigwigs, and just the look of these gazes alone, enough to strike fear into her heart, made Dorothy want to cry without tears.

She didn't want to become the center of attention on the very first day of school like this.

However, Sophia above seemed unaffected by those countless gazes, and most of the looks that scared Dorothy actually averted their gaze the moment they met Sophia's, not daring to stare any longer.

After all, she was the current Student Council President of Witch Academy, the de facto ruler of this institution, the supreme existence among the school, second only to the principal, and above ten thousand others.

If Witch Academy were a country, then the principal would be the King and the Student Council President the vice ruler. She only needed to answer to the principal, and even the professors had to adhere to the president's arrangements.

After all, the professors' research funding also needed the president's approval, and nobody dared to offend their financial backer. Who would want to risk next month's funding?

So, when the bigwigs saw that the Phenomenon was caused by the president, they immediately refrained from becoming spoil-sports, choosing instead to watch the drama unfold like eating melon seeds.

Especially now, in the absence of the principal's intervention in school affairs, allowing complete delegation to the student council, the president could do whatever she wanted—even if she whimsically decided to dismantle the school for fun, the professors wouldn't say anything but would instead help carry bricks.

As for whether the principal would get angry afterward, that's the family affair of the Angel Witch, the Divine King's descendant, as Witch Academy was originally her family's Witch Territory.

In short, all that mattered was that the president was happy.

Seeing that nobody out of turn came to make trouble, Sophia didn't say much more. She just quietly looked down at the bewildered young miss, feeling a small satisfaction of settling a score in her heart.

Hehe, my little miss, you've been carelessly showing off too much before. Now, I've finally evened the score.

So, the King of Angels atop the Heaven Mountain spoke, and her pure and majestic voice, like a heavenly query, descended.

"Now, do you understand the answer? My innocent and cute little miss?"

Dorothy was speechless. Looking around, she noticed all the Exotic Races, whom as if followers in the presence of deities, had fallen to the ground in a sort of fervor.

After a long while, she sighed.

I understand, witches are the deities of this world.

The relationship between witches and otherworldly races isn't that of rulers and the ruled, but instead even more terrifying than that of masters and slaves—it's the relationship of deities and mortals.

Divine might is like an ocean, divine might is like a prison.

Deities need not say much, and all creatures naturally revere them.

After all, the majesty of a deity is not something that mere mortals can offend—such is the crime of blasphemy, the greatest sin there is.

So does she, Dorothy, have the self-awareness of being one of these deities?

Dorothy doesn't know the answer to this question. All she knows now is that her school life is ruined.

Feeling the countless gazes of the bigwigs suddenly focused on her, Dorothy truly felt like dying.

So scary, I'm suffering from social anxiety. Reality is indeed terrifying, wuwuwu, I want to go back to the Magic Net World.

The Homebody Witch cries out in her soul.

This kind of fame from the start of school, whoever wants it can have it, I certainly don't want it. This is nothing like the school life I imagined, you asshole.

Mom, maybe I should just go home and obediently take over your estate.

... The little witch is in a state of self-isolation...
