One Piece: Revenge of the Slaves

Chapter 128: OPRS: Chapter 128

"Hey, Alistair!" Smoker shouted, thinking Alistair was about to attack the 16th branch. He tried to stop him, a futile act driven by his sense of duty as a Marine.

"Ignore it, bypass the 16th branch," Alistair said, waving a hand towards Ace.

Ace nodded slightly, adjusting the helm, steering the ship away. Clearly, Alistair wasn't planning on directly entering the 16th branch.

This made Hina think. She and Smoker didn't understand why Alistair's group had come to the 16th branch but weren't entering.

They didn't know that the 16th branch wasn't the target, but a waypoint—a coordinate to help locate Cocoyasi Village, which fell under the 16th branch's jurisdiction. Finding the 16th branch, then Arlong, would lead them to Nami's home village.

"Ace, find Arlong," Alistair commanded. Lafitte, on the mast, silently spread his wings and vanished into the sky.

They only now realized Alistair was looking for a group of fish-men. While curious about Alistair's motives, they'd grown accustomed to his command style; he only explained afterward, when he was in a good mood. Until then, they simply followed orders.

This was a deliberate habit Alistair was cultivating. They were still a military organization; obedience was paramount. Alistair, without relying on force or intimidation, had created a positive structure: while the Revolutionary Army currently prioritized strength for promotion, the future would see promotions based on ability and intellect.

This would create conflict: would the intelligent but physically weak obey the strong, or vice versa? The answer was simple: lower ranks obey higher ranks, regardless of strength. Alistair was training their instinctive obedience.

Lafitte's eyesight, Enel's Mantra, and Ace's ship speed quickly located Arlong—few in this area didn't know about Arlong; Lafitte could simply ask any passing ship.

They quickly found Arlong's location. However, upon seeing it, Alistair had Ace turn the ship away, bypassing Arlong. His actions were baffling.

Even without Ace speaking, Smoker and Hina asked. "Hina wants to know what you're planning," Hina said, extending her long legs, seemingly trying to entice Alistair, drawing his gaze.

"You'll find out soon enough. Get up," Alistair approached, removing their Seastone cuffs from the mast, giving them some freedom. He then turned to Tashigi. "Hey, Tashigi, you wanted to see what true justice is, right? Come on, I'll show you."

Alistair kept the two swords he'd acquired in his captain's quarters. Tashigi, still carrying her own sword, Shigure, stared at Alistair; only after his second call did she hurriedly approach, her clumsy demeanor making Smoker and Hina facepalm; Alistair was seriously considering recruiting her.

Honestly, everyone present was stronger than her; how did she earn Alistair's attention? Was it her looks?

Smoker and Hina examined her closely, making her blush and fidget, clearly uncomfortable under their scrutiny. A woman who couldn't even handle their gaze wouldn't be strong in battle—close to zero. Was she this shy in combat, too?

"Don't just stand there, come with me," Alistair said to his captives.

Robin and Lafitte waited at the ship's railing; even Ace was already there.

"Enel's not coming?" Alistair asked.

"He said he's not interested in this small village; nothing escapes his eyes while he's on the ship, so he's staying put," Lafitte chuckled.

Smoker and Hina were startled; they wondered if it was true. The village was at least tens of square kilometers, with extensive orange groves; if his Mantra covered all that, his Observation Haki mastery would far exceed their expectations.

A wide plank connected the ship to the port—there was no proper harbor, just a simple dirt one. As they stepped ashore, several people approached.

"Hey, who are you?" a man in old Navy uniform, scarred face and a small mustache, approached, musket in hand, loudly demanding. Others were clearly farmers, armed with pitchforks.

"Hello, I'm looking for Nami. Is she here?" Alistair greeted them cheerfully.

"Click!" They instinctively raised their weapons, aiming at Alistair. They knew what Nami was doing but hadn't intervened, hadn't tried to build a better future, instead distancing themselves from her; if Nami succeeded, they'd be free; if she failed, they wouldn't take responsibility. They didn't want to be implicated in her thefts; hearing someone ask about Nami, they pointed their guns. "There's no Nami here! Get out, outsiders!"

Their reaction made Alistair laugh.

"Tashigi, is defending their home justice?"
