Chapter 16: Chapter 16

As it turned out, Rogu was worried for nothing. And a message about a successful level-up instantly appeared before his eyes. At the same time, he felt a strange but pleasant feeling that filled his entire body.

It seemed as if the muscles and bones throughout his body were filled with some special strength, while the muscles on his bare arms tensed and the veins became clearly visible.

At this moment, he clearly felt all the muscles in his body undergoing changes. While his body was being transformed, new data related to the Super Strength skill began to surface in his mind. When the flow of information ended, the changes in his body also disappeared, and his muscles returned to normal, as if nothing had happened.

But Rogu knew perfectly well that there had been a change. He reached out and clenched his fist. At that moment, the muscles tensed again, and he felt that with this one hand he could probably kill Lester with one blow.

"Although, it seems I misunderstood a little," he said, scratching his head.

At first, he thought that Super Strength was a skill that simply improved his physical parameters. But it turned out that this was not entirely true. And although his physical strength did increase slightly, in reality, this was a secondary result.

The main purpose of the skill was to suddenly burst out in force. He could unleash a powerful blow in an instant. But after that, he needed a pause, even if it was very short - a second or even less. This skill was not designed for long-term use.

The slight improvement to his body only served to ensure that his own physical condition could withstand the strain of using this skill and not lead to injury.

"Well, if I really want to get stronger, I'll still have to train hard," Rogu concluded, curling his lips. But he wasn't disappointed. After all, he still had something to do. Besides, even though he didn't have any skills that directly increased his physical parameters now, that didn't mean they wouldn't appear in the future.

He looked at the remaining black iron coin in his Hunter's License and thought about it. He then invested it into upgrading the Moon Heart skill.

The skill immediately increased to level 5.

This time, the information that came to his mind was much more mysterious and difficult to explain. At that moment, Rogu even felt that he had reached a new limit in his skill. He felt an unprecedented ease and confidence that he could now use this technique without the slightest effort.

Looking with satisfaction at the inscription "Heart of the Moon, Level 5", he decided that it was time to go to bed.

"A real man always keeps his word," he said, lying down.

When Rogu woke up in the morning, he stretched and went to the first floor. When he came down after washing, he saw that the bar was completely empty. The owner of the bar had already prepared breakfast and was rubbing his hands, waiting for him to appear.

"Sir, breakfast is ready. As soon as you eat, we can leave," he said enthusiastically.

Rogu blinked, unsure of what to say. He felt that the change in the man's demeanor was too abrupt. But he didn't dwell on it. After all, Rogu had always been a man who valued the important things and didn't focus on the insignificant details. So, he simply nodded and sat down at the table to eat.

The bar owner, standing nearby, continued to tell: - Last night I did everything so that you would not be disturbed. I moved all the other guests to other hotels. I returned their money for the rooms, and also paid for their new housing. I did not sleep all night, and prepared everything. So as soon as you are finished, we can go.

Rogu nodded without saying a word, but he felt himself beginning to respect this man. He was clearly a man of action and, as he had promised, he was not going to cause him any trouble.

"I hope he stays like this "he thought to himself

But at that moment there was a creak and the doors of the bar swung open.

Uninvited guests burst inside, as if the bar had been opened especially for them.

At first, the bar owner was clearly annoyed. After all, there was a "Closed" sign on the door, and he was ready to throw out the uninvited customers. But when he saw who exactly had entered, his irritation was replaced by instant obsequiousness, as if by magic.

- Oh, so these are the respected gentlemen from the Marine Watch! What would you like? Something to eat? Something to drink? I'll prepare everything right now! - he said with a forced smile.

But Lester waved his hand, indicating that his services were not required. Then he walked unceremoniously over to Rog and sat down next to him. The first thing his eyes did was to look at the spoon in Rog's hand, and as if by instinct, he touched his knee, remembering the recent incident.

"When are you leaving?" he asked.

"I'll head out as soon as I finish eating," Rogu replied, this time deciding not to tease Lester, perhaps because of the upcoming separation.

Lester nodded and motioned for someone to come over. A young man appeared timidly from behind him and approached cautiously.

Rogu glanced at him. The face seemed familiar to him.

"I want you to meet someone," Lester said proudly, as if he were introducing someone special. "This guy calls himself Koby."

"Oh," Rogu nodded. "He's in the Marines now?"

- How did you guess? - Lester was stunned.

"Well... he's wearing a Marine uniform," Rogu sighed. He didn't want to humiliate Lester again, but looking at it, he still thought that Lester clearly had some problems with his intellect.

- Well, never mind. Anyway, what I wanted to say is, even if you don't want to join the Marines, that's okay! - Lester said, trying to sound confident. - There's never a shortage of geniuses in our ranks! We get training you never dreamed of! You'll see, even a weakling like Koby can surpass you in a few years!

— …And then what? — Rogu blinked.

"And then you'll regret that you didn't listen to me and join the Marines!" Lester concluded enthusiastically.

- Oh, I see. Well, good luck to you, - Rogu answered calmly.

- Damn it! That's all you're going to say? - Lester exploded.

Rogu thought for a moment. Perhaps he should have answered with more expression before parting. So he raised his lifeless eyes to Lester and said with a completely emotionless face: "Live your ugly life, silly."

"What?!" Lester stared at him in complete bewilderment.

"Hmm, yes, perhaps that's not quite the right phrase," Rogu said thoughtfully. Then he added, "Well, okay, okay. Go to your goal, my friend."

"Why do I feel like you're making fun of me?" Lester asked, a hint of doubt in his voice.

- It doesn't seem so. I really am making fun of you, - Rogu immediately confirmed. - Until yesterday I still doubted, but now I am sure: in a few years you won't even see my silhouette. Because you will never understand how terrifying someone who is closed to your understanding can be.

"What are you even talking about?! I don't understand anything!" Lester grabbed his head, finally feeling the same pain that his younger brother, Ferr, experienced while spending time with Rogu.

After a long pause, he sighed and coughed, "Even though I don't want to admit it, I have to thank you. Thanks to your help in capturing big pirates like Marsello and Alvida, my rank in the Marines will rise. How much exactly, I don't know yet, that will be decided after my training at Marineford
