Chapter 37: CH 37: END OF BATTLE
The island was in ruins. Smoke rose into the darkened sky, and the sound of clashing metal, explosive blasts, and desperate cries echoed across the battlefield. Marines and pirates fought in scattered skirmishes, but the central figures of this chaos were Yuji and Garp, whose battle shook the very earth beneath them.
Yuji, beaten and battered, suddenly laughed. The sound echoed unnervingly, cutting through the noise of battle. Garp paused, his fists still clenched and ready, as he watched the pirate captain with suspicion.
"Something funny, brat?" Garp asked, his voice sharp but calm.
Yuji grinned, blood dripping from his mouth. "You really thought that was enough to finish me?" he said, his deep voice carrying a dangerous edge.
Before Garp could respond, the massive hole in Yuji's torso began to close, golden scales knitting together in mere seconds. His regenerative abilities, bolstered by his Lunarian traits and Zoan resilience, were nothing short of miraculous.
Garp's eyes narrowed. "You're a tough one, I'll give you that," he admitted. "But that just means I'll have to hit you even harder"
Yuji roared, his wings flaring as he launched himself toward Garp. The vice admiral met him head-on, his fists coated in Armament Haki. Their collision sent shockwaves rippling outward, toppling trees and scattering debris.
Yuji's claws raked toward Garp's chest, but the Marine deflected the attack with a haki-covered forearm, countering with a powerful uppercut. Yuji twisted mid air, using his tails to whip at Garp's legs. Garp jumped over the attack and brought both fists down in a hammer blow aimed at Yuji's head.
Yuji blocked with his crossed arms, but the impact forced him to his knees, cracking the ground beneath him. Garp didn't let up, delivering a flurry of punches that struck Yuji's torso, shoulders, and face. Each blow landed with devastating force, driving Yuji further into the ground.
Yuji growled, the flames on his back reigniting with ferocity. With a burst of energy, he pushed Garp back, his massive wings flapping to create a gale that momentarily blinded the Marine.
"Let's see how you handle this!" Yuji shouted, his tails striking from opposite directions like scythes. Garp dodged one and caught the other, spinning Yuji by his tail and slamming him into the ground.
Yuji retaliated with a burst of Void Lightning from his hands, forcing Garp to jump back. The lightning scorched the ground, leaving smoking craters in its wake.
"Impressive," Garp said, brushing dust off his uniform.
As the fight between Yuji and Garp raged on, the rest of the island was consumed by chaos.
Bepo fought valiantly near the pirate ship, his martial arts training and agility allowing him to fend off multiple Marines at once. Despite his exhaustion, he stood firm, protecting their ship from being overrun.
Law, equally drained, provided support with his devil fruit abilities, teleporting Bepo out of harm's way or slicing through Marine weapons with precise ROOM techniques.
"Hurry up, Captain," Law muttered under his breath, his eyes scanning the battlefield for Yuji.
Elsewhere, Hancock was locked in combat with Bogart, Garp's loyal right hand man. She fought with deadly elegance, her kicks turning Marine soldiers into stone with every strike. Bogart, a skilled swordsman, managed to avoid her attacks, but the sight of his comrades falling one after another unnerved him.
"You'll pay for this, Pirate!" Bogart growled, his sword clashing with Hancock's armament coated leg.
Hancock smirked. "You should focus on surviving, marine," she replied coldly, her next kick sending him staggering.
12 hours have gone past since their clash begin.
The fight between Yuji and Garp stretched into the night. The once-lush island had turned into a battlefield of craters, shattered trees, and lifeless bodies. The relentless exchange of blows had taken its toll on both combatants.
Yuji stood hunched over, his wings torn and his scales cracked. Blood dripped from numerous wounds, yet his golden eyes burned with unyielding determination.
Garp wasn't unscathed either. His once-pristine Marine coat was in tatters, and blood leaked from his mouth and a gash on his side. Yet, his stance remained firm, his fists ready for another round.
"Garp," Yuji said, his voice hoarse but steady. "Look around you."
Garp hesitated, his gaze shifting to the battlefield. Marines lay scattered across the island, some turned to stone, others crushed or burned from the collateral damage of their fight. The sight of his loyal soldiers who had followed him into battle lying broken or lifeless caused his expression to harden.
"Garp," Yuji continued, his tone somber. "This fight is pointless. The future of your Marines is dying because of this nonsense."
The vice admiral clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. He scanned the battlefield once more, seeing the cost of their clash.
"What do you want?" Garp finally asked, his voice low and serious.
"I suggest we stop this fight," Yuji said, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "In exchange, I'll make sure Hancock undoes her ability on your men."
Garp narrowed his eyes, scanning Yuji's face for any sign of deception. "Fine," he said after a moment, though his tone was begrudging. "But if you try anything, I'll end you here and now."
Yuji chuckled. "Fair enough."
Hearing this, the remaining Marines stared at Garp in shock. "Vice Admiral Garp, are you serious?" one of them asked.
"This isn't up for debate!" Garp barked, silencing the protests.
Yuji called his crew over, gesturing for them to prepare for their departure. As they gathered, he began shifting into his full Ghidorah form, his massive size causing the ground to quake.
"Let's wrap this up," Yuji said, his voice reverberating through the air. "Hancock, undo the effects on the Marines."
Hancock hesitated but complied, her hands glowing faintly as the petrified Marines began to return to normal.
As the Marines regained their mobility, Yuji spread his colossal wings. "We'll be taking our leave now," he said, his three heads glaring down at Garp.
"You'd better keep your word, brat," Garp warned.
Yuji smirked. "See you around, Marine Hero."
With that, Yuji took to the skies, his crew riding on his back.
As they disappeared, Garp clenched his fists. "Who are you, brat?" he shouted into the sky.
Yuji's voice echoed back, carrying a hint of pride. "I'm Yuji, the captain of the Absolute Pirates!"
Garp watched them go, a thoughtful expression on his face. "That brat… he's dangerous," he muttered, wiping the blood from his lip.
The battlefield fell silent, the fight over but the scars it left behind a grim reminder of the Absolute Pirates' power.
