New Beginning: Star Wars

Chapter 4: 4)The birth of a Hybrid

Kamino, a remote and enigmatic planet located in the seclusion of Wild Space, was shrouded in mystery and isolation. Its oceans, vast and unforgiving, covered the planet's entire surface, interrupted only by towering, sleek structures that rose above the roiling waves—laboratories, research stations, and facilities that had become synonymous with the Kaminoans' dark secret.

The Kaminoans were a race of tall, elegant beings, known for their graceful yet alien appearance—long necks, slender bodies, and features that seemed sculpted by the stars themselves. Despite their elegance, the Kaminoans' reputation was built not on beauty, but on their unmatched mastery of cloning technology. It was this very science that had earned them favor with the Galactic Republic, who had entrusted them with creating the army that would serve as its backbone during the Clone Wars. But the Kaminoans were more than a mere soldiers factory for hire; they were pioneers in genetic manipulation, creating life from the very strands of DNA itself.

On this secluded planet, where the skies were often thick with rain and the oceans perpetually churned beneath the weight of relentless storms, something was about to happen that would change the course of history. The storm was unlike any other—an unnatural fury seemed to possess the air. Dark clouds rolled ominously above the horizon, casting shadows over the endless waves. The flashes of lightning that cracked across the sky were deafening, like the very heavens were announcing that something monumental was occurring.

The tension in the air felt palpable. It was as though the storm was not simply a natural occurrence but a harbinger of something far greater—an event that would echo throughout the galaxy for centuries to come.

Inside one of the many high-security research facilities on Kamino, nestled above the treacherous ocean, two Kaminoan scientists stood before an array of 50 large, gleaming pods. The lab was filled with advanced technology—cylindrical tanks lined with intricate equipment, humming softly with the energy of science at its highest level. These pods contained the culmination of years of work, and, for the scientists involved, the most ambitious project ever attempted: a series of hybrid clones, genetically engineered to become the perfect super-soldiers.

The project had been named Alpha-Miles, a name that conveyed both its significance and its ambition. Each pod housed the potential to create a warrior unlike any the galaxy had seen—a being who could surpass any of the soldiers that had come before, even the likes of Jango Fett, the template for the original clones.

The base for the project was simple, though incredibly complex in its execution: a hybrid of multiple species, each carefully chosen to provide specific benefits. The Kaminoans had started with human DNA, taking the genetic material of Jango Fett for his exceptional combat prowess. They had also incorporated samples from several powerful Jedi, hoping that the Force-sensitive genes might manifest in the subject, granting them abilities far beyond that of normal soldiers. To increase resilience and stamina, Zabrak DNA was added, with its superior physical attributes—two hearts, enhanced strength, and incredible endurance.

But the final piece of the puzzle was the most difficult to obtain—the DNA of a Gen'Dai. This ancient and nearly mythical species was almost impossible to study, with its immense regenerative abilities and longevity. Though the Gen'Dai's biology was radically different from the other two species, the Kaminoans believed that its unique properties could be integrated into their hybrid subject, granting it an extraordinarily long lifespan, an accelerated healing factor, and a body capable of withstanding incredible trauma.

The Kaminoans had great hopes for their creation. If successful, the hybrid would be a warrior unlike any other—highly resilient, powerful, and with the potential to harness the Force itself. But in the world of cloning and genetic manipulation, nothing was ever as simple as it seemed.

"How is it progressing?" The first scientist, a tall Kaminoan with sharp, elongated features, asked in a voice that echoed the seriousness of the moment.

The second scientist, a younger and more anxious Kaminoan, glanced up from a data pad, his long fingers trembling as he scanned the information. His pale eyes were wide with concern. "Worse than we thought," he muttered. "The forced merger of the DNA is causing a volatile reaction that destabilizes the subject's internal makeup. If this keeps going, the project will fail."

Suddenly, a red light flickered above one of the pods, bathing the lab in an ominous hue. The soft humming noise of the equipment faltered, replaced by the eerie sound of a warning alarm.

"What happened?" the first scientist demanded, his voice tight with anxiety.

"Specimen number 43… is dead," the second scientist replied, his voice betraying the desperation that gripped him. His fingers flew over the data pad, but no matter what he did, the vitals of the specimen continued to flatline. "We've lost it."

"Quickly, administer suppressants!" the first scientist ordered, but his command was met with only more failure.

Another pod turned red, then another, until the display showed a cascade of failures, one after the other. The scientists watched in helpless horror as the life they had worked so tirelessly to create unraveled before their eyes. There was no way to stop it—their hopes and years of research were disintegrating right in front of them.

The second scientist felt his heart sink, the weight of failure pressing down on him. "It's not working. The subjects can't sustain themselves—none of them."

Despair hung heavy in the room. Yet just as it seemed that all was lost, something miraculous occurred.

Pod number 15, located at the far end of the room, flashed green. The vitals on the data pad stabilized. No alarms blared. No red lights blinked. The screen showed steady readings, as though the specimen inside had become… well, normal.

"What's going on with number 15?" the first scientist asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The second scientist, equally stunned, leaned closer, studying the data pad with wide eyes. "I—I don't know how, but its vitals are stable. The biological makeup is holding strong. There doesn't seem to be any issue at all. In fact…" He hesitated for a moment, then looked up, his voice trembling in awe. "All three DNA profiles are harmonizing. The Gen'Dai DNA, the Zabrak, and the human—it's working. Somehow, it's working."

The first scientist's eyes widened with disbelief and a flicker of hope. "That's… extraordinary." He stepped forward, examining the pod from a distance, as if trying to will the miraculous results into something more tangible. "But if it's true… If this specimen is stable, it could be the key to everything."

The second scientist nodded quickly, already running diagnostics. "I'll make sure it gets everything it needs. Whatever's happening inside that pod, we can't afford to waste it."

"Do it," the first scientist ordered, his voice more urgent now. "We can't lose this one. If we've succeeded, this… this could be the breakthrough of a lifetime."

As the two scientists hurriedly worked to ensure that specimen number 15's condition remained stable, outside, the storm reached its peak. Thunder roared across the sky, shaking the very foundations of the lab, as if the planet itself was heralding the birth of something extraordinary—something that would change everything.

Inside the lab, the hybrid clone, now designated Alpha-Miles 15, lay motionless in its pod, unaware of the destiny that awaited it. But one thing was certain: its creation was a turning point—a moment that would set the stage for the future of the galaxy. The Kaminoans, with their calculated ambition, had created not just a soldier, but a force capable of altering the balance of power in the galaxy forever.

Yet unbeknownst to anyone, the newly born life form was conscious

'WHERE THE HELL AM I?'
