Naruto: Wooing Tsunade from Day One!

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Taking Tsunade to Visit the Uchiha

No one appeared until the construction crew left at noon. Kawakaze and his entourage evacuated immediately afterward, returning to their original positions after a quick meal.

"What is this Uchiha up to?"

Tsunade mulled over the script Uchiha seemed to be directing, but no answer came to her.

"Don't overthink it. I'll take you to find out for sure tonight," Kawakaze said with confidence. His assurance somewhat reassured Tsunade, though she didn't realize the night might unfold unpredictably, no matter how brave or skilled one was.

Meanwhile, chaos had erupted at the Root Ninja's location. Of the six sent out, only one remained alive, barely clinging to life and gravely injured. The other five lay lifeless on the ground.

"You Senju dare act this way! Aren't you afraid we'll report this to the Third Hokage?" the surviving Root Ninja threatened, directing his words at the black-robed man in front of him.

"Our land was approved by the Third Hokage. What is the meaning of your Root sneaking around here?" the black-robed man retorted coldly. "And if you don't make it back, who will know I killed you?"

As he stepped closer to deliver the final blow, the sound of a large group approaching reached them. Relief lit up the Root Ninja's face behind his mask—rescue had arrived.

"Damn it," Fugaku Uchiha muttered, cursing under his breath as he retreated without hesitation. He left swiftly, avoiding any entanglements.

The injured Root Ninja could hardly believe his luck. He hadn't expected to survive long enough to see backup arrive.

Moments later, an Uchiha Jonin arrived with dozens of others, taking in the grim scene. The lifeless bodies sprawled on the ground and the one barely surviving Root Ninja painted a clear picture of the carnage.

"I heard commotion and came over. I was heading to the construction site," the Jonin explained hastily, though his story was riddled with inconsistencies. Luckily, the wounded Root Ninja was too preoccupied with his injuries to notice.

"I ran into someone from the Senju Clan," the injured man gasped.

"Damn it. Let's get you back," the Jonin said, ignoring the bloodstains as he helped the injured man. He quickly left with him while the rest of the Uchiha clan dispersed.

The Jonin never had any intention of going to the construction site; it had all been for show. Once the Root Ninja was brought back to their base camp, the Uchiha Jonin departed with a smirk.

"What Danzo? What Root? They're just toys in the hands of the Uchiha," he muttered, his words dripping with disdain.

At the Root base, a Medical-nin was assigned to treat the injured survivor. Danzo's face was dark with fury. Of the six sent out, only one had returned alive, and even then, barely so. It had taken years to train them, and losing five was a bitter blow.

"What happened?"

Danzo's voice was laced with barely contained anger.

"I was the only one who encountered the Senju Clan," the injured Root Ninja began, wincing from the pain. "I was saved in time by the Uchiha. They arrived with a large group and scared the Senju off."

"The Uchiha suggested you question the construction team together tomorrow," he continued. "First, their people were injured, and now five of my comrades are dead. Even if we bring this to the Third Hokage, we'll be justified."

The Root Ninja recounted everything he had experienced and repeated the words of the Uchiha Jonin who had escorted him back.

"Even if it's Sensei's clan, they cannot treat me like this," Danzo muttered coldly.

Unbeknownst to him, he had walked right into the Uchiha clan's game plan. Heading to the construction site tomorrow could place him in grave danger, but he wasn't aware of the trap yet.

"Take him down and treat his wounds," Danzo ordered, suppressing the urge to lash out. Each Root Ninja represented years of cultivation and training, and he wasn't going to waste such resources on a fit of rage.

But tomorrow would be different. He vowed someone would pay with their life for this affront, Senju Clan or not.

The thought of Kawakaze flickered in his mind, the memory of their last encounter still vivid. That man was a thorn in his side. If they clashed again tomorrow, Danzo resolved to let the Uchiha Clan take the lead, ensuring Kawakaze's downfall.

Elsewhere, Kawakaze appeared relaxed, his lazy expression betraying no hint of unease. If Tsunade weren't nearby, he might have already gone home for the night.

As the construction crew's shift ended, Kawakaze stretched and stood up.

"Time to go," he said casually before vanishing in a few swift jumps.

After dinner, Kawakaze and Tsunade sat across from each other in a quiet dojo. Sakumo and Nayuki had their own matters to attend to and left the two undisturbed.

"Kawakaze, where are you taking me later?" Tsunade asked, unable to contain her impatience any longer. He had been deliberately vague about their destination.

"Uchiha territory," Kawakaze replied, sipping his tea as if discussing something trivial. His gaze wandered to the moonlight outside, calm and unbothered.

"What?" Tsunade shot to her feet, her voice filled with surprise.

"The Uchiha can't just be approached casually. Do you know how many people are in their clan?" Tsunade said, her tone clearly disapproving. The idea of venturing into Uchiha territory felt like walking into a hornet's nest. Moreover, the Uchiha had always been a contentious topic among Konoha's higher-ups.

"Don't worry, I'll take you there myself. I have my reasons," Kawakaze replied calmly. "With the Flying Thunder God Technique, we'll be safe."

Kawakaze exuded confidence, as if the absence of the Mangekyō Sharingan among the Uchiha rendered them incapable of posing any real threat, even if he didn't use the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Tsunade hesitated but eventually relented. His unwavering confidence reassured her. As long as they remained safe, the risk was manageable—even if they strolled through Uchiha territory boldly.

The moon climbed higher in the night sky, signaling that the time had come.

"Let's go," Kawakaze said, placing a hand on Tsunade's shoulder. The next moment, they vanished.

When Tsunade regained her bearings, they were already standing on the same tree branch they had used during the day. She glanced at Kawakaze, who remained as composed as ever, and couldn't help but be amazed. The amount of Chakra required for such a feat was staggering.

"Let's head straight in," Kawakaze said, leaping off the branch with casual ease.

Tsunade had thought they might hide their presence or take a more cautious approach. To her surprise, Kawakaze led her directly into Uchiha territory without any attempt at stealth. Unsurprisingly, they were soon stopped by a sentry.

"Kawakaze Hatake, here with Princess Tsunade, to visit the Uchiha Clan Head. Please announce our arrival," Kawakaze declared, ignoring the Ninja's surprised expression.

The Uchiha Ninja frowned, clearly displeased by the sudden and bold intrusion. His gaze lingered on Tsunade, trying to deduce her purpose here. But as a low-ranking member, it wasn't his place to question, so he turned to report to the Clan Head.

At the Uchiha Clan Head's residence, the report prompted immediate confusion. Not yet retired for the night, the Clan Head called for Fugaku.

After a brief discussion in a private room, they concluded that refusing to meet the visitors could damage their clan's reputation. Tea was prepared, and the messenger was sent back to bring the guests in.

Kawakaze and Tsunade remained silent as they followed the guide through the dimly lit pathways of the compound. Finally, they arrived at the Clan Head's quiet room, where both the Clan Head and Fugaku waited.

"Oh, it's you?" Kawakaze remarked with a faint smile as he entered and locked eyes with Fugaku, whose glare could have pierced stone.

"Hmph. Fugaku Uchiha greets Lady Tsunade," Fugaku said, his voice formal but curt. As the designated successor of the Uchiha Clan, he carried himself with a measure of pride.

Kawakaze's eyes flickered with a hint of amusement. This guy is Itachi and Sasuke's father? His strength seems... average.

"Tsunade greets Clan Head Uchiha," she said politely, maintaining decorum.

Without hesitation, Kawakaze took a seat and casually poured himself a cup of tea. His demeanor was relaxed to the point of arrogance. The displeasure in the Clan Head's expression was plain, though he kept it under control.

Tsunade joined Kawakaze, sitting beside him.

"I wonder what business brings you to my Uchiha at this hour," the Clan Head began, breaking the silence. His voice carried an edge of suspicion.

Fugaku, seated nearby, kept a wary eye on Kawakaze, ready to react to any sudden moves.
