Chapter 222: The Puppet Factory Beneath Roran

"It's getting late; we should leave now," Minato said, placing a hand on Obito's head while looking toward Haneda.

It was clear to him that Haneda was in no rush to leave. On the contrary, he seemed to want to linger longer.

"Let's have dinner before we go. There's still time, and the Ryūmyaku's current state is stable," Haneda replied.

"Yeah, Minato-sensei, I also want to chat more with the Haneda from the future," Obito chimed in, suddenly struck by an idea. With a sly grin, he added, "How about this—Minato-sensei, you take Kakashi to handle the mission while I stay with Haneda and the others?"

"What do you think, Deidara?"

"Sure! I'd love to witness Haneda-senpai's fire-style art. Hmm!"

"Baka! That's not art; it's the fire-style of the Uchiha clan!"

"Can't handle this nonsense anymore..." Kakashi grumbled, grabbing Obito's arm and dragging him toward the door. He turned back and said to Haneda, "I'd like to stay and chat over dinner too, but the longer you remain here, the greater the spatial-temporal distortion. Unforeseen consequences could arise."

"Let's go, Haneda," Kakashi added.

"Alright," Haneda nodded slightly, following along.

Minato watched Haneda's retreating figure, lost in thought. From Haneda's demeanor, Minato could infer some changes in the future. However, the mysteries of space-time were delicate—altering too much could make Haneda's return even harder. This was why Minato planned to seal everyone's memories after this event was resolved.

Based on reconnaissance from Minato's team, Anrokuzan—also known as "Mukade"—had constructed a massive factory underground.

In this factory, the citizens of Roran, especially able-bodied individuals, were enslaved. Forced to work like machines, they labored tirelessly for Anrokuzan's puppet army.

When Haneda and his group arrived at the factory, Queen Sara was stunned by the sight of her people, mechanically operating massive machinery.

The workers wore tattered, oil-stained gray clothes, and their eyes were vacant. Under the watchful supervision of mechanical puppets, they produced puppet components and assembled large constructs—machines that had become the tools of their own oppression.

For so long, Sara had believed Roran to be a land of beauty and prosperity under her rule. In the desert, her people had food to eat and water to drink.

But reality struck her like a cruel blow.

"Anrokuzan... how could he do this?!" Sara collapsed to her knees, unable to accept what she saw.

Haneda spoke calmly:

"All of this labor could have been done by puppets themselves. But to satisfy his lust for power, he enslaved them, taking pleasure in their suffering."

"Huh?" Obito looked at Haneda, surprised by his serious tone. He teased, "Why are you acting all deep and philosophical, Haneda?"

"Haneda-senpai has always been like this! He hasn't changed at all, okay, Obito-senpai!" Deidara retorted.

Suddenly, sensing an incoming puppet attack, Deidara hurled a clay bomb.

With a loud *boom*, the attacking puppet was blown to pieces—only to begin reassembling itself with threads of purple chakra.

"What... is this?" Obito pointed at the regenerating puppet, wide-eyed.

"You should be more concerned that we've been discovered, loser," Kakashi remarked, as cold as ever.

"Indestructible puppets?"

Deidara, intrigued, looked to Haneda and asked, "Haneda-senpai, can I finally unleash my art here? Hmm! Let these guys witness the beauty of explosions!"

Before Haneda could respond, Deidara mounted his clay bird and launched several C1 explosives at the puppets.

At that moment, Sara, realizing something, called out:

"The puppets are being repaired using the Ryūmyaku's power! You must escort me to the factory's core to sever their connection to the Ryūmyaku!"

"Where is it? I'll protect you," Minato offered. Turning to Haneda with a smile, he added, "I'll leave Obito and Kakashi to you. Please keep Anrokuzan occupied."

"Understood," Haneda nodded, his gaze shifting to the balcony above the factory.

There, Anrokuzan emerged, observing the scene silently.

"Minato-sensei, are you really letting us handle that guy?" Obito asked excitedly. He could hardly wait to take him on.

"Let's go, loser," Kakashi said, drawing his silver short sword. He turned to Haneda and asked, "Are you going to fight?"

"No, I'll just watch," Haneda replied, shaking his head.

If Haneda wanted to act, Mukade would already be dead. For now, Haneda only wanted to spend a little more time watching Obito.

"Alright! Leave it to me and this idiot Kakashi! No way I'd let you lift a finger for this," Obito declared, holding a kunai and turning to Kakashi on his right.

"Cover me, Kakashi!"

Anrokuzan, wary of Haneda, clapped his hands, summoning a massive puppet army into the factory. He extended a hand toward Haneda and proposed:

"Uchiha Haneda, I know the extent of your power."

"I am a shinobi of Sunagakure, and you are the Hokage of Konoha. Our villages are allied. Look at the puppet army here; I have already created tens of thousands of them."

"With this kind of strength, if you and I join forces, no shinobi village could stand against us."

"You take care of the Kage, and I'll lead the puppet army to handle the rest of the shinobi. Together, we can unify the world!"

"Haneda, don't listen to this guy!" Obito shouted.

Suddenly, he remembered something and yelled, "Wait, didn't you say the Hokage title was something even a dog wouldn't want? So why are you trying to steal it from me? Unbelievable!"

Haneda ignored Obito's ranting. Glancing at the puppet army, he remarked indifferently,

"Your puppets are nothing compared to his."

"And unifying the world? That's merely a means to an end, not the goal itself."

"Then see for yourself!"

Anrokuzan manipulated his puppets with threads of purple chakra, launching an assault on Obito and Kakashi.

The puppets, equipped with chakra-powered steam devices, moved with extraordinary speed and agility. They were even capable of flight, combining swift maneuvers with devastating weapon and chakra cannon attacks. For the moment, they overwhelmed Obito and Kakashi.

Anrokuzan sneered:

"You're referring to Sasori of the Red Sand, Suna's once-in-a-century genius, aren't you?"

"How do my creations compare to his?"

But despite his boasting, Haneda's expression remained unchanged, angering Anrokuzan further.

"If you refuse to cooperate, I'll kill them!" Anrokuzan threatened.

"That black-haired one, I'm unsure of, but the white-haired one—he's your best friend, isn't he?"

"Shut up! You won't touch them!" Obito roared, forming seals and unleashing a *Great Fire Dragon Technique* at Anrokuzan.

A puppet intercepted the attack, using a shield to absorb most of the flames. Anrokuzan stood amidst the residual embers, laughing:

"My puppet army has surrounded this factory!"

"No one is leaving here alive—not even you, Uchiha Haneda!"
