"Sasame-sensei, are we going on a mission tomorrow?"

Uzumaki Naruto, already bursting with energy again, asked excitedly.

Besides, three thousand ryo meant nothing to him.

His earlier frustration had vanished as quickly as it came.

"If you want D-rank missions like finding cats, pulling weeds, or milking cows, I can assign those."

Sasame replied leisurely.

"What about C-rank?"

Naruto grinned. "The four of us are way too strong for D-ranks!"

"Regulations state that new genin teams can only take D-rank missions at first."

Sasame watched his disappointed expression before adding, "But as the Hokage's advisor, I can approve anything—even A-ranks."

"Awesome!"

Naruto's eyes sparkled. "Let's go tomorrow, then!"

"Not so fast."

Sasame shook his head. "Higher-rank missions need the Hokage's approval. Go prepare, and I'll notify you in a few days."

Uchiha Sasuke gave him a glance but said nothing before walking away.

"Sasame-sensei, the higher the rank, the better!"

Naruto called out, still waving as he left.

Sasame chuckled before turning his attention to Hinata.

"Hinata, I'll walk you home."

"Mm."

She nodded, then glanced around—too many people to hold his hand.

With a tiny sigh, she followed behind him.

At the Hyūga compound's entrance, Hyūga Hanabi came running.

"Sis!"

She threw herself into Hinata's arms, looking up eagerly. "Mom said you applied for early graduation! How'd it go?"

"I passed."

Hinata pointed to her forehead protector.

"Wow! Let me see!"

Hanabi's eyes shone as Hinata handed it over.

She held it like treasure, carefully tracing the metal plate with her fingers—adorably serious.

"Hanabi."

Sasame teased. "You didn't even greet me?"

"I saw you!"

Hanabi pouted. "But why are you with my sister?"

"I'm her team leader."

He crossed his arms. "Shouldn't you be nicer to me now?"

Hanabi froze.

She knew what a team leader was—but Sasame?

That couldn't be a coincidence, right?

"Sorry, Sasame-nii! That was my bad!"

Her pearly eyes darted before she put on her most earnest face.

Hinata couldn't help but smile at the act.

"Little schemer."

Sasame ruffled Hanabi's hair, then—noticing Hinata's expression—gave her the same treatment.

Fair was fair.

"Alright, I'm heading back."

With a wave, he left.

Hokage's Office

Tsunade looked up as Sasame entered. "You're back late."

"Had to run a test."

He leaned against her desk. "All three students are impressive. They'll surpass us someday."

"Oh? That high of praise?"

She raised a brow. "You're serious?"

She was strong, sure—but still within normal shinobi limits.

Sasame, though?

With his Senju physique, Wood Release, and Sage Mode, few in the world could rival him.

"Absolutely."

He grinned. "They'll surprise you."

Even ignoring Hinata's potential, Naruto and Sasuke alone—especially if their deadbeat demigod dad decided to bless them—would be monsters.

Tsunade didn't fully buy it but nodded anyway.

If true, Konoha's future was secure.

"Now that you're here, let's call it a day."

She stood, stretching with a yawn. "Waiting for you wore me out."

"You didn't have to."

He took her hand. "I'd have been fine."

"Nonsense."

She flicked his forehead. "We're family."

Warmth bloomed in his chest.

Scooping her up, he teleported them home.

Shizune glanced over—then immediately looked away.

Dog food. Everywhere.

Face blank, she retreated to the kitchen.

Dinner was ready soon.

"Try this."

Sasame blew on a bite before offering it to Tsunade.

"Not bad."

She beamed, chewing happily.

Shizune's chopsticks paused.

The living room was spacious—but held no refuge from this assault.

She couldn't take it.

"Shizune-nee, eat up."

Sasame gestured at her full bowl. "I already had ramen, so you should have extra."

I'm already stuffed!!

Shizune's eye twitched, but she forced a smile. "Of course."

She downed two more bowls and fled.

Couch

Tsunade kicked off her sandals, bare feet landing in Sasame's lap.

"Why must you torment her?"

"Hm?"

He traced circles on her smooth skin.

Her toes curled involuntarily.

"Shizune. You enjoy riling her up."

"You do too."

"I do not!"

She relaxed into the cushions. "By the time I noticed, it was too late to stop you."

"Madam Hokage, slander is a crime."

He pressed his thumbs into her arches, drawing a soft sigh.

"Liar."

She nudged him with her heel.

He caught her foot, kneading gently as she shifted closer.

"You are a foot guy."

She smirked.

"Nope."

His gaze drifted higher—to where her top strained with each breath.

"Liar~"

She sing-songed, stretching lazily.

Sasame set her feet aside, leaning in until their noses almost touched.

"Wait—"

Her eyes widened. "We're in the living room!"

Her breath tickled his lips.

That rare fluster was delicious.

"And?"

He grinned.

But Tsunade wasn't some blushing maiden.

Composure returned fast.

"Remember our deal."

She tapped his chest with a warning finger.

"Then what about this?"

He clutched his heart dramatically. "Ah—I'm dying! The pain!"

"Don't joke like that!"

In a flash, she pinned him against the couch, eyes blazing.

"Got it."

He swallowed hard.

"Still thinking dirty, huh?"

She sighed. "...Fine. What do you want?"

"An alternative."

He whispered his request.

"You pervert!"

Her fist met his face before he could dodge.

"Why didn't you move?!"

She paled, helping him up.

"Why would I?"

He pulled her into his lap. "Now, about my compensation—"

"...Unbelievable."

After a long pause, she relented.

Future considerations swayed her—pregnancy would limit their options.

This might be necessary.

"Tsunade-nee, you're the best!"

He'd experimented with Uzumaki Ena before—but Tsunade was different.

For her to agree? A miracle.

Carrying her to the bedroom, he opened the window.

Tsunade bit her lip as her legs dangled over the edge, her weight entirely supported by him.

Eyes half-lidded, she gazed at the starry sky—no moon, but countless glittering lights.

Then—

A streak of brilliance.

Then another.

Her fingers dug into his arms as the heavens split open.

"A meteor shower…"

Sasame murmured, awed.

An impulsive idea had led to this.

Worth every second of the hour-long wait.

"Bath. Then bed."

Tsunade exhaled, skin still flushed where they touched.

Even for shinobi, this was exhausting.

"Next time, we'll stargaze properly."

He brushed damp gold strands from her neck as peace settled over the night.

Morning

Sunlight poured through the forgotten-open window.

Tsunade still slept, curled against him.

He traced her cheek, and she nuzzled closer with a sleepy smile.

"Morning."

"Time to wake up."

She only burrowed deeper into his chest.

It took forever before she finally stirred, stretching in a way that tested his sanity.

"Enjoying the show?"

She dressed slowly, deliberately.

"You're torturing me."

He groaned.

"Good."

She smirked. "Payback for last night. Suffer."

With that, she left—ignoring his protests.

"Woman, you'll pay for this!"

He vengefully scarfed down two extra breakfast bowls.

Under his aggrieved stare, she finally tiptoed over—

—and kissed the corner of his mouth.

"Good morning, my little man."
