Naruto: Legacy From Leaf To Clover

Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Slaughter Time

"Captain Reidi, we really reeled in a big one this time! That kid's grimoire… it has four leaves!"

Kerr eagerly pointed to Yuno, his voice full of flattery.

"A four-leaf grimoire? Just like the First Magic Emperor?"

Reidi narrowed his eyes at the book floating before Yuno, a greedy gleam flaring in his rodent-like pupils.

That look made Yuno deeply uncomfortable, like he was already a fat lamb laid bare on the butcher's block.

"What a disgusting gaze… Asta, shall we begin?"

Yuno stepped behind Houma, brimming with mana. The other boys, almost by instinct, began to cluster closer to Houma as well.

Even without saying a word, Houma exuded a pressure that far surpassed Kerr's flimsy façade. In a life-or-death situation, instincts pushed them toward true strength.

"You're Kerr, right? You were half right earlier — this really is the surprise of the evening."

Houma grinned brightly.

So far, he'd counted 132 bandits — a small army by normal standards, and in his mind, he could already smell the scent of that sweet Sharingan upgrade.

"It's slaughter time."

Shing!

With each step Houma took forward, a crimson grimoire materialized out of thin air. With a heavy crash, his massive broadsword slammed to the ground beside him.

Gripping the sword with both hands, his entire frame bulged with muscle, veins pulsing like coiled dragons. Sickly green light twisted together with blood-red arcs, dancing down both sides of his body like two beasts vying for dominance. Sword in hand, Houma began to pick up speed… and then — charged.

Like a beast uncaged, he rocketed straight for the bandit leader — Reidi.

"Earth Construct Magic: Titan Shield!"

Reidi panicked. He'd originally been preparing to mock Houma — who the hell still used swords in this era?

But the moment he felt Houma's aura — like a sapphire-blue wild beast — his legs buckled. Every hair on his body stood on end. That chill wasn't just fear — it was soul-deep dread.

Without hesitation, he activated his most powerful defensive spell.

Boom!

Massive pillars of earth erupted upward in four towering walls, encasing both Reidi and Kerr inside. The walls were nearly impenetrable, capable of withstanding advanced spell bombardments or physical destruction. It was Reidi's final line of defense — his life-saving trump card.

But one second passed. Then two. The walls didn't even tremble.

"…Was that it? Just a paper tiger?"

Reidi wiped the cold sweat off his brow. That aura had scared the life out of him, but now? The silence beyond the walls was almost comical.

Then, a moment later…

The screams began.

"Help! Help meee!"

"He's a devil! A monster!!"

Reidi and Kerr exchanged baffled glances.

…Had their men already begun killing the kids?

That would explain the terrified cries. After all, the men in their crew were blood-soaked criminals, and they often delighted in tormenting their prey before the kill. Hearing screams wasn't exactly unusual.

But something felt off…

"…Why do those screams sound like grown men?"

"Captain, maybe we should open a gap and check?"

"…Fine."

Reidi shifted the magic structure, forming four small windows in the walls.

The moment he peeked through, his eyes froze.

The ones screaming for help… were his men.

"Captain! Save us!!"

"Please — someone help—aaagh!"

"First one down!"

"Second!"

"Thirty-second!"

Houma rampaged like a tornado through the bandit ranks — so fast, his movements were invisible to the naked eye.

And each time he reached a new target, his massive sword would uppercut the unfortunate soul into the air. The weak ones died instantly. The tougher ones didn't survive the fall.

"Fifty-second!"

"Left flank cleared. Time for the right!"

Houma paused. His figure reappeared in full view, standing tall amid a field of carnage. The earth beneath him was now eerily empty — and the sky was filled with flailing bandits screaming as they plummeted.

Gulp.

The boys and girls meant to take the Magic Knights' exam were all frozen, gulping down fear.

This was beyond anything they could've imagined.

An entire gang of ruthless killers — wiped out without even a fight?

Thud!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The first wave of bandits Houma had launched skyward now began to fall — crashing to the ground like sacks of meat. One after another, they hit the dirt with final, sickening thuds.

Total: +6600 points!]

Houma's heart raced with excitement at the System's summary.

All that — just from a warm-up?

Indeed, hunting powerful mages was clearly the most efficient way to farm [System Points]!

His gaze swept toward the surviving bandits on the right flank, and his eyes burned with feral heat.

They weren't enemies.

They were walking points.
