Naruto :I will survive

Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Blackness, just chilling blackness...

When Genya entered Kano's consciousness, he never expected to see such a picture. He was floating in the air, surrounded by impenetrable darkness, unable to see anything except his own body.

He had been in such darkness before, but before he had always found something like a door or window - an entrance. When invading someone's mind, such an entrance, resembling a door or window, was a must. But Kano had nothing like that, only endless darkness.

Genya still couldn't determine who Kano was, but he was sure of one thing: this boy was definitely not an ordinary child.

"I'll have to resort to more drastic measures, even though it's not my choice," Genya muttered in a low voice as he floated in Kano's dark world. His hands quickly formed seals, and his gaze became serious.

The human brain is very fragile, especially the brain of a child. One mistake and it can become feebleminded: "Don't blame me..."

Hands froze, printing completed.

BOOM…

A flame suddenly flared up in the darkness, and within moments it had become a raging fire. In the light of the fire, low houses could be dimly seen, helplessly engulfed in flames.

Genya silently watched this scene that suddenly appeared in the darkness. It was the most painful memory of the one who was targeted by the genjutsu.

Krr… - a quiet sound was heard, like a clap of thunder.

Genya's gaze changed abruptly. He looked at the crack that appeared in the darkness, and a blinding white light poured out of it.

"Here it is..."

.....

In the hospital room, Kano held Koshibe's cold hand with an impassive face, not taking his eyes off her closed eyes.

The young nurse standing behind him sighed softly, looking at the girl with sympathy. Such scenes were common in the hospital: "Mr. Kano, please accept my condolences…"

Kano squeezed his sister's hand lightly, but then let go, as if afraid of hurting her.

"I paid you every last coin, but why did it turn out like this?" asked Kano, whose calm façade hid a volcano ready to erupt.

The nurse was speechless. Despite the guy's outward calm, she felt a chill for some reason.

"Why..." Kano slowly closed his eyes, "What did we do wrong?"

Krr! - a sharp sound was heard.

Kano opened his eyes abruptly, and tears rolled down his cheeks. Everything around him looked like a reflection in glass, and now a crack appeared on this glass, which ran right across the face of the peacefully sleeping Koshibe.

"No!" Kano screamed, and the world around him went dark, as if someone had turned off the lights.

....

"Cancel!" Genya, covered in cold sweat, stepped back. Shock and bewilderment were visible in his eyes.

"What happened?" An Anbu suddenly appeared and put his hand on his shoulder, stopping him.

Genya wiped the sweat from his forehead and said with difficulty: "It's difficult to explain."

The Anbu was silent. His masked face showed no emotion. After a moment, he asked coldly, "Does he meet the criteria for elimination?"

He didn't care what happened. He only cared whether Kano needed to be eliminated.

Hearing this, Genya shuddered and involuntarily looked at Kano, who was lying with his eyes closed and tears running down his cheeks. He opened his mouth, but could not utter a word.

"It corresponds to…" is what he wanted to say initially. But, recalling the last scene he saw, he couldn't do it.

"No," he said after a pause.

"Are you sure?" The Anbu looked at him closely, noticing his hesitation.

Since he had changed his answer, Genya decided not to hesitate any longer and firmly replied, "I'm sure."

The Anbu nodded, "I'll report to the Hokage. He'll be taken back soon. Be ready to report." With that, he disappeared.

After the Anbu left, Genya looked at the crying Kano with a complicated expression and said in a barely audible voice: "Who are you...?"

He noticed that Kano was beginning to come to his senses and became quiet.

"How is this possible..." he whispered, looking at Kano who was slowly opening his eyes, causing a whole wave of questions to appear in Genya's head.

"When did genjutsu become so weak? After all, the subject was a child who couldn't control chakra." With this thought, Genya heard a voice full of fear: "It turns out… that wasn't true."

Kano, who had woken up, looked around. Remembering everything that had happened as if in a dream, he felt the pain that was tearing his heart apart again. He did not understand why he had fallen into such a realistic dream, but he was sure of one thing: the culprit of all this was the man in front of him.

"Should I thank you... or hate you?" - a frightened Kano wanted to wipe away his tears, but forgot that his hands were tied.

Genya fell silent, not knowing what to say to that. He hadn't expected Kano to wake up so soon and remember everything so clearly.

"What will happen to me?" Kano asked in a calm voice, not continuing the previous topic. His tone was the same as if he were asking if the other person had eaten.

"It's obvious that you don't understand our actions, and even feel hostility towards us," Genya said seriously. Kano's sudden awakening and lack of memory lapses made him feel the need to say something.

Kano remained silent, maintaining an impassive expression on his face.

"I wish I could explain everything to you, but it seems useless. Perhaps in the future you will understand why we did this. For now, at least you can live in a relatively safe environment. So I hope you will put aside your hostility. Soon, a person will come and take you away. But before that…"

Listening to Genya, Kano's tension gradually subsided, convinced that the danger had passed. However, he suddenly noticed a glimmer of apology in his interlocutor's eyes.

"Before that, you must lose consciousness again. It's for your own good."

Kano's face showed amazement as he saw Genya appear behind him with incredible speed, and immediately felt a familiar pain in the back of his head.

"I..." the curse that was lurking on his tongue never managed to escape his lips.

Genya pulled his hand back, looked at the unconscious Kano and muttered, "I hope I'm not mistaken..."

...

Hokage's office.

Genya stood respectfully in front of the village leader's table.

Hiruzen Sarutobi, having studied the detailed report, sighed several times, and then slowly raised his head. His penetrating gaze was directed at his subordinate. The report was detailed and complete. And if Genya had not reported everything orally, then perhaps no problems would have been noticed.

"Genya, I see you're hiding something."

Genya, standing with his head down, shuddered, but quickly pulled himself together, ready for punishment.

Looking at him, Hiruzen sighed, "You certainly have your reasons for doing this, and I have always trusted you. You have outstanding abilities, but you do not have the heart of a ninja. Even I do not know if I should advise you to change that. You clearly do not belong in this position."

"Hokage-sama..." Genya raised his head, tears of gratitude glistening in his eyes.

Hiruzen shook his head slightly and continued, "This child has an outstanding talent for genjutsu, but as you said, he seems to have animosity towards Konoha. This is quite problematic."

"If possible, I would like to take him under my wing," Genya said seriously.

Hiruzen hesitated, but shook his head, "I'm afraid that's impossible. Orochimaru will be in charge of raising this child."

"I see…" Genya nodded.

"I won't punish you for withholding information, but it must not happen again. You may go."

"Yes." Genya replied and left the office. He couldn't help but sigh as he left the Hokage's residence.

Hiruzen looked at the door as his gaze wandered around the room. Genya had always been one of the most promising ninja in his eyes, but he lacked composure and was not decisive enough in many matters. Therefore, despite his outstanding abilities in all areas, he was weaker than the average jonin and could only work in the interrogation department, and not carry out missions for the village.

Knowing Genya and trusting him, Hiruzen had mixed feelings about Kano - joy and worry at the same time. Would it be good for Konoha if this talented child grew up in the village, or not?

He rubbed his temples. If Genya had raised this child…

"Eh..." - but, remembering Orochimaru, he only sighed heavily.
