Chapter 11: Chapter 11
The atmosphere created by the war seemed to have no effect on the children at the Ninja Academy. Knowing nothing about the world, they played, made noise, and laughed carefree. Just being born in Konoha was already a great fortune.
Since the day Kano ignored Minato, he felt like he was ostracized by all his classmates. However, that was exactly what he wanted. The same corner, the same loneliness – blissful silence.
All this time, Sawaki had not touched on the topic of chakra, focusing on the theory of using shinobi tools. This had been going on for several weeks now, and was starting to irritate Kano. Since his reincarnation in this world, he had a phenomenal memory and ability to understand. The knowledge that Sawaki taught, he absorbed instantly. However, not everyone was like him. For example: Kano could understand the purpose and use of any shinobi tool in a day, but others needed much more time. Because of this, Sawaki chewed on each topic for several days before moving on to the next. Unfortunately, there were many shinobi tools that were indispensable for a ninja.
This approach clearly showed how serious and responsible Sawaki was, ideally suited to be a teacher. It was this quality that Sarutobi valued in him, appointing him as the teacher of this graduating class. And the only thing that slightly worried Kano was Sawaki's excessive demands on everything and everyone.
Looking at the empty yard outside the window, Kano sighed. He was seriously afraid that he would go crazy if he had to live like this for another three years.
There was a creak as the door opened, drawing the attention of everyone in the classroom. A strong-built Sawaki walked into the classroom with no expression on his face, followed by a girl with bright red hair.
At that very moment, everyone froze and sat down in their places. However, upon seeing the red-haired girl, many could not hold back their usual whispers.
Ninja senses are very keen. Sawaki, despite the children trying to speak quietly, heard their whispers. He frowned slightly and said sternly, "Silence."
His words worked better than any other means and were much more convincing than the admonitions of his parents. Therefore, all whispers immediately died down.
Kano looked at the girl who had her head down and froze for a moment when he saw a familiar face, but then quickly regained his composure. The color of her eyes and hair were different. Despite some similarities in her features, this girl was not Koshibe. This girl with bright red hair was Uzumaki Kushina. She stole a glance at the people sitting in the classroom, feeling everyone's gaze on her, and averted her eyes out of nervousness.
After waiting for silence, Sawaki looked at the girl with her head down and said: "Please introduce yourself..."
Before he could finish speaking, Kushina raised her head and loudly interrupted him: "I am Uzumaki Kushina!"
Sawaki was taken aback, looking at Kushina, who raised her head and closed her eyes. He shook his head slightly, but did not pay attention to it.
After introducing herself, Kushina realized that she had unwittingly blurted out her signature phrase. She quickly covered her mouth with her hand, and a slight blush appeared on her cheeks. After a short silence in the classroom… the noise that Sawaki had previously suppressed immediately returned.
"Have you seen the color of her hair?" one boy said laughingly to his neighbor.
"No one has this color."
"How can you be so red?"
"Strange hair."
Kano, looking sideways at these stupid children, looked at Sawaki. He expected him to immediately call them to order with his stern look, but to his surprise, Sawaki remained silent, allowing the students to discuss Kushina's hair.
Kano frowned slightly, and confusion appeared in his eyes.
Listening to these taunts, Kushina stroked her hair in silence. She couldn't argue with them, because she hated this bright red color. But… no matter how much she hated her hair, she wouldn't let others humiliate her and talk about her appearance: "I… I will become the first female Hokage in this village!"
These unexpected words instantly silenced everyone. Those who had just laughed at her looked at her in surprise, speechless.
"Hokage?" Kano turned to the window, smiling coldly.
Sawaki remained silent, standing next to Kushina with an impassive face. In the silence that followed, Minato stood up, and pressing his fist to his chest, said with a smile, "I also want to become an outstanding Hokage that everyone will respect."
Kushina, looking at his soft smile, thought that he looked like a girl and looked completely unreliable. How could such a person become Hokage?
Minato, unaware of her thoughts, continued to smile. His words came from the heart. Perhaps almost no one present understood how seriously he took his words, but Kano and Sawaki felt it...
Unlike Kushina's words, which were blurted out under the pressure of the situation, Minato's words sounded much more convincing.
"Find yourself a seat and sit down," Sawaki finally said, glancing at Minato.
"Okay." Kushina nodded and, like Kano, chose an empty seat.
When she sat down, Sawaki said sternly, "Let's begin the lesson."
And so the tedious lesson began again. Sawaki could talk for hours about a single shinobi tool. And Kano could only spread his hands in admiration. Perhaps, from his point of view, Sawaki's actions were meaningless, but in reality, only such a responsible and diligent teacher could lay a solid foundation for these young sprouts.
An hour later, Sawaki finished the lesson and, leaving the classroom, gave the children a ten-minute break.
As soon as he left, the atmosphere in the classroom changed instantly. Several restless boys immediately surrounded Kushina in the far corner of the classroom. One of them, pointing at her, said with an unkind smile: "Tomato! Red hair, round face - the spitting image of a tomato."
"Hahaha, and I hate tomatoes the most," another boy with a short haircut chimed in.
"Me too, I always leave tomatoes on the plate."
"If everyone hates tomatoes, then how can she gain recognition in the village?" the boy said with a laugh, throwing his hands behind his head. As soon as he finished the sentence, everyone around Kushina burst into laughter.
Surrounded by so many people and listening to their ridicule, Kushina blushed again. Shyness made her lower her head, and her flaming cheeks really did look like a tomato.
Sitting in front, Minato, hearing the noise, turned to face the surrounded Kushina, surprised by what he saw, but said nothing.
Sitting at the back of the class, Kano, was the direct victim of noise pollution. He stood up silently as he watched the group bullying one girl. He didn't want to interfere, but the scene brought back childhood memories. After all, unlike today's childish pranks, the fight was over food.
"Wow, she's getting riper and riper," one of the boys said with a grin, looking at the blushing Kushina, and reached out to grab her hair.
Kano grabbed his hand sharply.
Kushina, feeling the movement, did not have time to react. Turning her head, she saw a black-haired boy with a rather cute face, who with a cold expression was holding the hand of the one who wanted to grab her by the hair.
Everyone who watched this scene froze, and silence reigned in the classroom.
