Naruto: I Draw Power Into Reality

Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Hmph, A Little Girl Lover

"He's drawing something."

"It looks like a red-haired person."

"Wow, so cool!"

At this moment, a series of gasps rose from the group of children watching nearby.

Kyoyuki curiously stretched his neck for a better view, but at the same time seemed afraid that Akaba would run off, feeling torn.

"He's drawing someone from the Uzumaki clan."

"I—"

There were already many people gathered around Akaba. Kyoyuki hesitated briefly before finally deciding not to go over.

At this moment, Akaba's Shadow Clone finished a drawing.

"Big brother, who is he?"

A child stepped forward, asking curiously.

"Nagato."

The clone smiled slightly and took down the finished painting.

"Go hang it up."

Without even waiting for it to be hung properly, everyone hurried indoors to get a good look at the person in the picture.

It depicted a boy about seven or eight years old, with red hair and long bangs covering one eye.

No Rinnegan, but still handsome and delicate-looking.

The Uzumaki clan descended from the Sage of Six Paths and may have known something about the Rinnegan. But the Sakuma clan likely had no records regarding such things, which could lead to unexplainable confusion later. The Third was shrewd; in some ways, hiding secrets from him was even harder than hiding them from Danzo. Akaba had no desire to tempt fate.

"Now I'll draw one of the kids here."

"This little girl has a manga book in her hand. It'll be you."

The clone spun around, looked toward Uzumaki Kyoyuki, and then pulled out a new sheet of sketchpad to begin drawing.

"Me?"

The little girl stared in surprise at the clone, then turned her head to look at Akaba, who was using Transformation Jutsu.

"A small gift."

Akaba smiled gently.

Since the clone was doing all the work, he felt perfectly fine letting things play out.

Kyoyuki nodded and stood straight nervously, fearing her portrait wouldn't look good.

With each careful stroke, the clone quickly outlined the figure. Before long, the general likeness of the young girl appeared vividly on paper.

All the kids got caught up in the drawing frenzy, leaving Akaba free to relax undisturbed.

However, seeing his Shadow Clone surrounded by a bunch of young girls looking at him with admiration—the expression on their faces—

Hmph, what a little girl lover!

Lying on the carriage, Akaba secretly sneered inwardly.

After mocking himself a bit, he suddenly realized something was wrong—wasn't the clone a little girl lover? Then what exactly did that make him?

"No way. I only like little girls like Kyoyuki who are sweet, considerate, and caring!"

Akaba silently nodded to himself, feeling reassured.

At this moment, the Q-version portrait of Kyoyuki was completed. After blowing lightly to dry the ink, the clone handed the drawing to Uzumaki Kyoyuki.

"Kyoyuki, let me see!"

"I want to see too!"

"Don't tear it! Be careful!"

A crowd of children instantly surged forward. The Q-version illustration was very cute and bore a striking resemblance to Kyoyuki herself.

This really was *just* a portrait!

Everyone was stunned. In this world, photographs existed, but manga—those illustrated stories Akaba drew—had never been seen before. These kids were seeing themselves drawn into such images for the first time.

"Big brother, if I buy a manga will you draw me too?"

All the children immediately became excited.

The guards from the caravan's eyes lit up—it was clearly an excellent marketing strategy. However, they soon turned to look at Akaba and his clone.

After all, Akaba was sort of a half-boss, while they were merely subordinates.

The clone hesitated.

Drawing portraits for every single child? What an enormous workload!

"Of course I'm willing."

Akaba sat up from the cart and smiled slightly.

"Huh?"

The shadow clone was taken aback, then watched as these children joyfully rushed into the shop.

In just a few seconds, everyone ran back out.

But none of them had any money—just grabbed books and dashed out like they had no intention of paying at all.

Akaba slightly frowned.

He didn't mind the money, but this felt a bit too much.

Just as he was about to ask, the little girl whispered, "Don't worry, Brother Akaba. The uncles and aunts will come pay later."

"Mm, so these are all the children from your village?"

Akaba nodded understandingly and casually asked another question.

"More or less. Our clan doesn't have many children."

While answering, she carefully tucked the chibi portrait away.

Ah, so their population really isn't that big!

Akaba thought for a moment and understood why.

With their powerful physiques and frequent intermarriage within the clan, it was no wonder the Uzumaki had few children.

"Label all their manga copies by number. Whoever's called next gets drawn first."

The clone said helplessly.

This kind of job was going to wear out a poor shadow clone!

Considering his short lifespan as a clone, he'd probably spend it all drawing chibi portraits of kids.

Konoha Village, manga shop.

"Uncle Yunlang, no need to unload the cargo. Just give us a copy directly."

"That's right, since Akaba isn't here, there's no poster gift anyway."

"Hurry up, we're in a rush to train."

Before the manga could even hit the shelves, a crowd stormed the truck, wanting to grab a copy straightaway.

"T-this doesn't seem right..."

Sakuma Yunlang hesitated, but in that brief pause, stacks of hundred-yen bills were tossed onto the table. Then each customer simply took a book and left.

Now that everyone's here, who has time to wait for him to stock shelves?

"Sakumo, your son sure knows how to have fun. You're completely different."

Shiso flipped through a manga while walking, making a sarcastic comment.

As an elite jonin, Kakashi was practically toying with these three kids who weren't even genin yet.

"He's not my son."

Sakumo refuted.

"Heh, don't be so sure. If one day you do have a son and name him Kakashi, won't you be extremely embarrassed?"

"Hmph, such a terrible name, there's absolutely no way I'd choose it!"

Sakumo insisted again.

Although he was speaking with Shiso, his pace of flipping through the manga didn't slow, and soon he'd reached chapter eight.

By this chapter, Team 7's test was finally over.

"Ninjas rely on teamwork, but Akaba always does his own thing."

They both scoffed simultaneously.

As teammates, they understood Akaba better than most.

Akaba never missed a chance to slack off, and only a handful of people in Konoha could keep him in line.

"I'm actually more curious about Mist."

Seeing two minor Mist ninja characters, Sakumo's mood became somewhat somber.

Mist ninja specialized in assassination, similar to their clan's swordsmanship style which also leaned toward assassination techniques.

If he had been able to take part in the battle in the Land of Whirlpools, his strength might have significantly improved, but unfortunately, he had to return early to complete a mission.

"There will be opportunities. The fight in the Land of Whirlpools won't end easily."

Shiso murmured gently.

From what he could tell, the chaos in the Land of Whirlpools was going to last a while.

"I hope so too. I really want to learn their assassination arts."

Sakumo spoke, then closed the manga.

At that moment, however, a voice reached their ears.

"Lord Danzo has ordered you both to proceed to Wave Country and eliminate or recruit the rogue ninja there."

"Wave Country!"

Sakumo and Shiso shared a look of mild surprise. Wasn't that the small country mentioned in Akaba's manga?

"That's correct. For this mission, you must not reveal yourselves as Konoha ninja. Your top priorities are concealment and self-protection — those were Lord Danzo's exact words."

The masked ninja continued explaining.

"Not revealing our Konoha identities means that if we're discovered, we'll have to eliminate them."

Shiso took a deep breath before speaking.

"Precisely."
