Naruto: I Draw Power Into Reality

Chapter 45: Chapter 45: I'm Still Just a Kid (Revised)

"This is Uzumaki Village?"

"Wah, they all have red hair."

"Idiot, don't act so surprised. The Uzumaki clan all have red hair."

And just like that, Jiraiya got punched again.

Akaba swept his gaze around, noticing that everyone inside Uzumaki Village indeed had red hair.

When he turned around again, he noticed Kazama's caravan wasn't entering the village, but instead taking a detour toward another direction before reaching the village entrance.

"Could it be that all the villagers of Uzumaki Village..."

A wave of shock hit his heart. Perhaps all the villagers were actually members of the Uzumaki clan, while those on the outskirts were where people from other clans lived.

"Honored guests, let me take you to meet the clan leader."

With a bitter smile, Kazama stepped forward to lead the way.

This was Uzumaki Village.

"Without Lord Hashirama, Konoha might have ended up just like this too."

Sarutobi sighed.

Though unspoken directly, the meaning was clear — when a clan became too powerful, the rest of the village inhabitants became insignificant by comparison.

"I think partly because of Hashirama-sama, and partly because of the Uchiha as well."

Akaba mused.

"Hmph, you're right about that," Sarutobi didn't object, because it was the truth.

The Senju, the Uchiha, and other families in Konoha formed a stable balance after competing fiercely, gradually evolving into what it has become today.

"The times make heroes."

Orochimaru mused thoughtfully.

"Balance amid Chaos."

Akaba borrowed a saying from his past life.

"That's quite insightful."

Tsunade was actually very intelligent, though she rarely cared to ponder such matters. Compared to thinking, she preferred fists and gambling.

As for Jiraiya, he was an artist through and through, with no interest in politics or power plays.

"That's the clan leader's office over there."

They hadn't walked far when Kazama pointed ahead.

Akaba lifted his head and immediately saw a building marked with the Uzumaki clan symbol.

Approaching closer, a figure already waited outside.

"Hiruzen, I didn't expect you'd come personally this time."

Although Hiruzen was using Transformation Jutsu, the person easily saw through the disguise at a glance.

"Hehehe, Shuhai, it's been many years. I heard Mr. Kazama had arrived at Konoha, so I came along to check things out."

Hiruzen removed the Transformation Jutsu and approached Uzumaki Shuhai, exchanging warm greetings.

So this was the clan leader?

Akaba observed silently. About the same age as the Third, the man exuded an aura of high status. His strength couldn't be determined merely by appearance, but it was unlikely to be anything less than formidable.

"It's been many years since I last visited Uzumaki Village. Let me show you around first."

Shuhai was very enthusiastic, yet his hospitality seemed mixed with other intentions.

"Actually, my main purpose here was escorting Mr. Kazama back. Let's handle official business first."

Hiruzen shook his head.

Considering the current situation in the Land of Whirlpools, he had no mood for sightseeing in Uzumaki Village.

"Fair enough. Let's walk and talk."

Everyone knows their own family's affairs best. Earlier, Shuhai had only been feigning composure. Cutting straight to the point suited him better.

Then Kazama reported his situation while walking, including being pursued by jonin and chunin, being rescued by Akaba, and following him to meet Mito Uzumaki.

"Wait, do you mean this manga?"

Uzumaki Shuhai looked at the book and then at Akaba, his face full of confusion. How could such a child's book contain any meaningful information?

"That's what the princess said."

Kazama replied respectfully.

"Hmm."

After hearing that, Uzumaki Shuhai opened the first page.

The Nine-Tails Beast?

Wasn't that Konoha's tailed beast!

Immediately, he thought about Konoha's first jinchuriki, who was none other than Mito Uzumaki.

Yet on these pages—

The Nine-Tails Fox had run wild, and its future jinchuriki turned out to be an idiot who couldn't even master [Clone Jutsu].

"My Uzumaki clan might have declined, but we'd never sink to this level!"

Seeing this, Uzumaki Shuhai nearly became furious enough to tear the book apart.

Seeing his angry look, Akaba remained very calm and answered nonchalantly, "Oh, that's what you think?"

"Although our Land of Whirlpools currently faces difficulties, others can't possibly hope to eradicate our entire clan."

Shuhai spoke confidently.

Every ninja in their clan possessed formidable strength; total annihilation was simply extremely difficult.

Hiruzen Sarutobi didn't interrupt, remaining calm as he smoked and watched the scene unfold, while Akaba snickered disdainfully and shook his head without speaking.

"What are you laughing about!"

Uzumaki Shuhai sneered coldly, "I'm not bluffing. The Land of Water wants to destroy my Land of Whirlpools? Not in this lifetime!"

"What if it isn't only the Land of Water?"

"The Land of Whirlpools has remained isolated for far too long—you've forgotten your true position yourselves."

Akaba spoke ruthlessly.

Besides, since he was just a child, if he really provoked someone, Hiruzen Sarutobi would definitely step in with diplomatic words anyway, so there was nothing to worry about.

"As long as others want to target us, they must pass through the Land of Fire first."

"Do you actually have an alliance with the Land of Fire? I don't recall knowing that."

Before he could finish speaking, Orochimaru interrupted.

"We—"

Uzumaki Shuhai pointed toward Hiruzen as he spoke, but suddenly realized—they had allied with Konoha, not with the Land of Fire!

"Ahem. Shuhai, kids will be kids. There's no need to take it too seriously."

Hiruzen quickly stepped forward trying to downplay things, so Uzumaki Shuhai wouldn't feel too desperate.

As the head of a clan, he wouldn't hold grudges against a child anyway.

Looking at the book again now, Uzumaki Shuhai increasingly felt this might very likely depict his clan's future.

Nation fallen, clan destroyed, legacy shattered.

He took a deep breath and slumped into his seat.

Could the Land of Whirlpools really survive if the Land of Fire decided to strike?

Even if Konoha's on our side, they'd hesitate to send real help if the Land of Fire moves against us.

"No wonder… No wonder only you came."

Uzumaki Shuhai flipped through several more pages of the manga before closing his eyes painfully.

At this moment, he understood everything.

Now he realized why Konoha had learned about the Land of Whirlpools' crisis, yet only Hiruzen Sarutobi had come accompanied by mere genin, under the pretense of protecting a caravan.

"Shuhai, it's not too late now. You can preserve your clan's future to the maximum extent possible."

Hiruzen Sarutobi said.

"And then what?"

Where could they go after surviving?

Hidden villages and nations must both cooperate and find a balance. If the Land of Fire truly trusted Konoha, the Twelve Guardians would no longer be necessary.

If the Uzumaki clan were to join Konoha again, things might become...

Caught in the moment, Uzumaki Shuhai saw the truth unfold—and his heart sank deeper into dread.

"Is it really that serious?"

Tsunade stood stunned. She had thought it was just an ordinary disaster, but now it seemed like the threat of national destruction.

"A Jinchuriki—that's what this comes down to."

Uzumaki Shuhai struggled to explain—it wasn't about position or power for his clan, but rather the issue of the tailed beast hosts themselves.

A perfect Jinchuriki—every village wants one, and no village wants others to have one.

Thus, calamity was inevitable.

The more he thought, the scarier he found the manga author's insight—especially since that author was right here, barely nine years old.

"Master, what do you think our Uzumaki clan should do next?"

Uzumaki Shuhai hesitantly asked.

"Split into branches, change your names and surnames."

Akaba kept giving meaningful glances toward Tsunade, implying something.

Was this suggesting the Senju clan?

Uzumaki Shuhai paused briefly, then considered the possibilities.

If they were talking about the Senju clan, whose numbers were still small, even the Daimyo wouldn't dare show disrespect.

Right! And they could form marriage alliances too.

"Master, if I recall correctly, aren't you from the Sakuma clan?"

He fixed Akaba with a burning, intense gaze.

You couldn't just pass down bloodlines haphazardly—these people were clearly extraordinary. Except, maybe, for that kid with premature white hair.

Uzumaki Shuhai started scheming about Orochimaru and Akaba, especially Akaba. The Sakuma line had weak constitutions, so they desperately needed the Uzumaki physical traits to strengthen their bloodline for the next generation.

Perfect! Now we're talking!

Akaba felt a chill as he was stared at, and quickly figured out what the old fox was planning. "No way! I'm still just a damn kid!"
