Multiverse System: Rebuilding Humanity

Chapter 3: Uchiha Bloodline

Noah backed away from the window, his mind racing. Looks like they can sense living things... That makes this even worse.

He opened his System interface and quickly navigated to his inventory. Selecting a compact crossbow and a quiver of bolts, he materialized them in his hands. The crossbow was light but deadly

His eyes flicked to his stats. Despite his disdain for the newly awakened "bloodline," he knew he'd have to rely on every advantage he could get.

As the first undead creature slammed into the building's entrance, Noah could feel the vibrations from the impact. He gritted his teeth, gripping the crossbow tightly.

"I don't care about being an Uchiha or using the Sharingan," he muttered, raising the weapon. "What I need is survival. Everything else can come later."

The sound of breaking glass echoed through the apartment complex, signaling the creature's ascent. Noah took a deep breath, ready to fight.

The apocalypse had begun, and he wasn't about to let anything stop him from surviving.

The sudden screech of a door breaking off its hinges interrupted his thoughts. His heart skipped a beat. They're here.

Noah rushed to the window, peering down. From his vantage point, he could see the dark figures moving beneath streetlights, a pack of undead searching for anything alive. Their movements were swift, coordinated, like predators on a hunt. He noticed some of them seemed to be human once, but now they were only twisted shells of their former selves. Their eyes were blank, lifeless—empty vessels driven by an insatiable hunger.

How could anyone be ready for this?

Noah stepped back, deciding to head for his front door. He moved cautiously, his crossbow still in hand, though it felt heavier now. I don't know if I can do this alone, but I have no choice.

He quickly made his way to the hallway, peering out from his apartment door. The building was eerily quiet, a contrast to the chaos outside. Most of the tenants had left for the night, leaving only a few scattered residents in their apartments. He had to make it to the rooftop for a better vantage point.

As Noah made his way through the building, he saw the first few undead stumble into the hallway. They were dragging their feet, their grotesque, bloodless forms crawling toward any noise. But Noah wasn't about to be caught off guard. He raised his crossbow, pulling the trigger with a practiced hand. The bolt flew through the air, piercing one of the undead in the chest.

The creature dropped to the floor with a sickening thud, but the others didn't stop. They turned toward him, their hollow eyes glimmering with a terrifying, predatory gleam.

'I need to get to the roof', Noah thought desperately, retreating back down the hallway and toward the stairwell. The sound of more undead echoed through the building, growing louder. His heart raced, but his training kicked in. 'i will survive this!!' he consoled himself

Noah burst into the stairwell, slamming the door behind him. The building was still relatively quiet on his floor, but the undead were closing in. He gritted his teeth. There was no time to hesitate. The fight had begun, and Noah was determined not to let it end in defeat.

He reached the top of the stairwell, bursting through the door to the rooftop. The wind howled around him, the sky dark and foreboding. From his new perch, he could see the vast expanse of the city—a city that was now being torn apart, his heart ached at the sight again and whispered"somehow...ill make humanity...populated again"

The undead were everywhere, but Noah had one thing they didn't—preparation. He pulled out the crossbow again, taking a moment to steady his breathing. There was no going back now.

Noah took a deep breath, his focus sharpening as he aimed his crossbow at the rooftop door. The faint hiss of footsteps echoed in the stairwell, accompanied by the soft scraping sound of claws on the metal steps. They're getting closer.

The undead were relentless. He could already hear the screech of their bodies dragging across the walls, the raspy breaths that didn't belong to living beings. He braced himself for the inevitable. There was no more room for hesitation. The time had come'i never killed a undead without powers but... Oh well'

The door to the rooftop creaked, then slammed open with a horrifying force. A lanky, bloodless figure stumbled through, its hollow, lifeless eyes locked on Noah as it let out a low growl. Without hesitation, Noah pulled the trigger, the bolt shooting through the air with deadly precision.

The bolt struck the undead creature's head with a sickening crack, sending it crashing to the ground in a heap. For a brief moment, Noah felt a rush of relief. But the next moment, his instincts screamed at him.

Another undead figure lunged from behind the first one, its rotting body hurtling toward Noah with a terrifying speed. He reacted in a split second, ducking low and narrowly avoiding the creature's grasp. The air rushed past him as he rolled to the side, narrowly missing the clawed hands that swiped at the space he had just vacated.

With a sharp exhale, Noah drew his katana in one smooth motion, the blade gleaming under the dim rooftop lights. His eyes locked on the creature that was now on the ground, twisting to face him.

The undead snarled, its empty, milky eyes fixed on him as it crawled forward. Noah didn't waste a second. In one swift motion, he swung his katana through the air, the blade cutting through the air with a clean arc. The undead's head was severed in one strike, the body crumpling into an unmoving pile on the rooftop.

He wiped the blood from his blade and looked around, his heart still racing. He had done it. But the fight wasn't over. In fact, it was just beginning.

Noah felt a strange surge of energy pulse through his veins, an unfamiliar rush of power that made his heart skip a beat. A notification appeared in his vision:

[You have gained 10 Mutation Points for eliminating the undead.]

Noah looked at the message with a mix of disbelief and determination. Mutation points? He hadn't fully understood the workings of his System yet, but it was clear that each kill brought some form of reward. He had no time to waste thinking about it now.

He quickly reloaded his crossbow and stood up, scanning the rooftop. The wind howled around him, carrying the distant sounds of chaos from the city below. But in that moment, Noah knew the battle wasn't just about surviving—it was about understanding his new power, the System that had granted him strange abilities. He wasn't sure how long he could last, but one thing was clear: this apocalypse would be a fight to the very end.

As more undead figures appeared in the distance, drawn by the sounds of battle, Noah tightened his grip on his katana and crossbow. He wouldn't go down without a fight. The game had changed, and he was going to play to win.
