Chapter 8: Chapter 8 New Home and Plans.
Auden walked through the streets of London until he reached a house with its gates shut tight. He checked the system again to ensure that the address he had recorded before was the same as the one he was standing in front of now.
He then took out a key from his ring, unlocked the lock, and removed the chains from the gate. He closed the gate behind him and walked in. The house was also a gift from the Flammels. According to them, it was a gift from an old friend that they never got to use. It was a simple two-story house with a spacious lawn and backyard. It was prime real estate in London—not too far in the outskirts, but at the same time close enough that a walk would allow you to reach places to buy essentials and such. It contained anti-apparition enchantments and protective enchantments currently connected to Auden and, in the future, to his descendants or people who get permission from him.
He looked around the house. There were enchantments to keep away the dust, so regular cleaning was not needed. He then took out the chess pieces in his hand that were present in the place he was born. According to what Helena had told him, those pieces were supposed to help him communicate with the Founders as long as he found the artifacts they had left for him.
Yep, that's correct—in this timeline, the Founders had created those four artifacts for him, and three of them had already been corrupted by Tom Riddle with his soul. Makes him want to use a time turner, go back in time, and bash his face enough while in the orphanage until he gets good.
Auden sighed as he thought about it, but he couldn't do anything right now.
Thankfully, the only artifact that was not corrupted was the easiest for him to get, as long as school started—and thankfully, the Sword of Gryffindor was not corrupted like Ravenclaw's tiara.
"I just need to wait for school to do that. But now, I need to plan the future."
He knew he was a year late from the start of canon. But in a way, that was better. Most people would be focused on the Golden Trio with their adventures, while he would be able to act from the shadows.
Though the chances were low, the quest Jason gave him might require him to fight in the light, as a person who has a standing in society. Plus, from what he had heard, the four Founders were actually two couples: Godric married Rowena, while Salazar married Helena. So if it came down to it, it could be revealed that he was a direct descendant of the Founders instead of being their homunculus creation. But revealing that at the beginning would not do him any good. It would only invite trouble early on, and even though he knew the plot, he had no idea about the society outside.
So he knew how to start. He needed to learn everything he could, record what he couldn't remember, and use it when needed. He should start as an orphan, with nothing about his parents known to the public, and climb his way up. And when he got stuck in a problem that required more than strength, that's when he would reveal the card about his origin—the descendant of the Founders.
But until then, the plan was to build up an image of power that could not be underestimated by others. And now, he had to prepare for the future.
The second year consisted of the Chamber of Secrets and the revelation of the first Horcrux. But Auden knew he had to change that. Being a descendant, he could control the Basilisk in the Slytherin Chamber. And the chances were that he would have a higher chance of taking control of it even if Voldemort returned one day.
So he needed to stop them from discovering the Chamber and, at the same time, find a way for the diary to reach Dumbledore so that the clues of the Horcrux would reach him.
Auden smiled as he knew just the way to do it. He immediately set out for Diagon Alley from his home. After taking a few local buses, he reached the Leaky Cauldron and managed to find the wall that led to the Alley. Although a few people turned their heads as they saw a child appear, they ignored it, as only people with magic would be able to access the pub on their own.
He counted the bricks and tapped them with his finger. From what he had learned, a wand was not actually required to do it—people just did it out of habit. The only thing required was a bit of magic, and he had learned that from the Flammels.
As it opened up, he took in the magical sight of Diagon Alley in front of him. He could only say that the movie had tried its best to capture it, but had failed, as he was greeted with a sight better than what he had hoped to see.
As he walked through the Alley, he found that the pathways seemed more spacious than congested. Though many of the shops seemed smaller than he had thought, when he reached his target and entered, he realized that the stores were bigger on the inside than on the outside.
"Welcome, young sir. What would you like to buy?" the owner of the pet store greeted him as he entered.
"I would like an owl, and I want one trained in battle rather than just post delivery."
The shop owner slightly frowned at that.
"Sorry, young man, but it's best if you choose one suitable for your age, as those are trained for people older than you. If you're patient enough, you can come back within a few years. I promise that I can give you one of the best battle owls before graduation."
There are two types of owls: battle-trained and untrained. The Ministry and Aurors always send risky mail through owls, and giving such sensitive files to some flimsy owl will only result in them being stolen. To counter that, battle-trained owls exist. They are faster than domestic owls, smarter, and capable of dodging spells and surprise attacks. But they are ferocious and will only obey a mature master. So normally, children only buy domestic ones used for posts and packages alone.
But for Auden's plans, he needed something stronger than normal.
A/N- hope you like it.
