Me, A Villain! Is It So Wrong To Live off The Heroines?

Chapter 27 - Doesn't It Feel Like a Surprise?

Chapter 027:Doesn’t It Feel Like a Surprise?

After finishing breakfast, Su Mingxuan drove straight to the company. That was where his focus needed to be — it was his career. After all, a grown man couldn’t spend every day circling around women. That’d be way too unambitious.

“Tell Jiang Ting to come to my office,” Su Mingxuan said calmly to a secretary as soon as he returned.

“Yes, President,” she replied with a flutter of her lashes, clearly hoping she could replace Jiang Ting herself.

Su Mingxuan ignored her completely. A man’s principles needed to be firm.

Back in his office, Su Mingxuan dove into a stack of documents. Even with Jiang Ting as his assistant, there were things she couldn’t handle. Some matters simply required his authority.

Half an hour later, the office door clicked open, and Jiang Ting slipped in like a whisper.

“Mingxuan…” She closed the door behind her and immediately flung herself into his arms. “I missed you.”

They’d only been apart for a day, but for Jiang Ting — who had grown used to being with him almost every day for over a month — that was already too long. The moment she saw him, she couldn’t help but melt into him.

Su Mingxuan gently patted her back, signaling for her to get down to business first. Jiang Ting understood. She picked up the documents from the desk and began going through them one by one, explaining what properties were being sold, which developments still needed attention, and other pending projects.

Transitioning the company was no small feat, and there were still existing operations that needed to be handled properly.

By the time they’d cleared the morning’s work, an hour had already flown by. And with the trivial matters wrapped up, it was time to get to the serious ones. As a man, priorities had to be clear. No slacking off — it wouldn’t look good.

Putting aside the documents, Su Mingxuan looked at her and said, “You’ve worked hard all morning. Let’s go do some cultivation.”

The Miracle Doctor Yin-Yang Scripture strengthened the body, harmonized yin and yang, and prolonged life. With consistent practice, it could even preserve youth indefinitely.

Su Mingxuan always kept his responsibility in mind. He couldn’t afford to be distracted from cultivation by mundane matters. After all, as the saying went: “When Heaven entrusts a great task to someone, it first tests their resolve.”

“Okay…” Jiang Ting answered softly, obedient as ever.

Time passed quickly.

When noon approached, Su Mingxuan tidied up and prepared to leave for his lunch appointment with An Mushui to finalize the investment contract. Jiang Ting, for personal reasons, wouldn’t be attending this time. With bodyguards in tow, Su Mingxuan headed toward the seaside.

Not long after the car set off, his phone rang. He answered. On the other end, a familiar but anxious voice spoke, “Young Master Su… it’s me, An Mushui.”

Su Mingxuan raised a brow. That was fast — she identified herself without prompting this time. “What’s up?” he said with a faint smile.

“I’m already at Long Time No See. Are you… on your way?” she asked hesitantly.

She had arrived quite early but waited until now to call. The waiting felt endless, and though she’d wanted to call him much earlier, she didn’t dare seem too eager. She was afraid he’d dislike that.

Su Mingxuan glanced out the window. The brilliant blue sea stretched out in all directions. “I’m already at the coast. I’ll be there soon,” he said flatly.

“Okay…” An Mushui clutched her phone tightly, heart fluttering with anticipation, but she didn’t know what else to say.

Click.

The call ended again.

Her expression deflated. Why so quick again? Couldn’t he say a few more words? Still holding her phone, she stood by the entrance of the restaurant, anxiously watching the nearby road for the silhouette of the car she hoped would appear.

No one knows how much time passed before a bouquet of flowers suddenly appeared in front of her, blocking her view entirely. An Mushui blinked in surprise, a surge of joy welling up in her chest. Her eyes misted over as she reached out.

“Su—” She took the flowers in hand, but before she could say another word, her face went from flushed to ashen in an instant.

From joy to fury.

“Qin… Yu!!” she gritted his name through her teeth, tossing the flowers to the ground. “What are you doing here?”

Qin Yu smiled sheepishly, unfazed by the rejection. “Shuishui, doesn’t it feel like a surprise?”

His voice sounded weird, like someone with a speech impediment.

An Mushui glared at him coldly. “It’s only a shock, not a surprise. Qin Yu, I want you to disappear immediately. Don’t ruin my mood!”

She was utterly disgusted. How could this bastard show up now of all times? She had thought for a moment that the flowers were from Su Mingxuan… she’d been touched for nothing.

She glanced down at the bouquet. Beautiful flowers — but not from the person she hoped. So they held no meaning.

Qin Yu wasn’t surprised by her attitude. He was already used to her coldness. Watching her pouty frostbitten face only made him laugh again. “It’s been so many days since we last met. Don’t I even deserve a smile? You’re too heartless, Shuishui…”

An Mushui stepped away from him, her expression frosty. “What’s wrong with your voice? And stop talking to me. I don’t want to hear it. I have something to do. Leave now.”

Qin Yu’s face twitched. Why was his voice off?

Well, of course — he had swallowed several silver needles and had only recently gotten them removed. If he weren’t a divine physician, he might still be in the hospital unable to speak. And it was all Su Mingxuan’s fault!

Just as that thought crossed his mind, a familiar black car slowly rolled into view.

Qin Yu’s face instantly darkened.

Of course… it’s him again.
