Putting down his napkin, George ignored Malfoy and the others, turning to walk directly out of the Great Hall.

At this, applause gradually began to fill the room. Then, whether from those who enjoyed a spectacle or those who just enjoyed a spectacle, the applause grew more intense.

It came not only from the older Slytherin wizards but also from wizards of the other three Houses.

Losing the House Cup last year naturally placed some responsibility on the older years, but George's statement effectively shifted all the blame to the second years. This made it hard for the older students not to agree with him.

For wizards from the other three Houses, Slytherin was generally disliked. Seeing internal strife among them was naturally a welcome sight, and the applause was largely to fan the flames.

However, there was still a small group of rather innocent young wizards who had stars in their eyes as they looked at George's retreating back, genuinely applauding him.

George was naturally aware of all this.

Whether genuine or feigned, at least his objective had been achieved.

"Harry, honestly, I was quite impressed just now. Even though he's a Slytherin and said he'd take our House Cup, I actually don't dislike him.

Especially, did you see Malfoy's face? Even when we won the House Cup last year, he wasn't that upset."

At the Gryffindor table, Ron couldn't help but say to Harry.

When it came to disliking Malfoy, he was actually more intense than Harry, especially after his father and Malfoy's father had a fight in Diagon Alley earlier.

Harry also nodded:

"George is different from Malfoy, but we can't lose the House Cup either."

"As George said, it's healthy competition. Let's all work hard together."

Hermione, at this point, was no longer angry about Harry and Ron's dangerous behavior yesterday and had returned to her usual self.

"We'll try our best!"

Ginny and Colin, standing nearby, looked at Harry with hopeful eyes, seemingly waiting for his reply.

Harry reluctantly encouraged them:

"Go for it!"

"I think the two of them are about to start a Harry Potter fan club."

Ron couldn't help but tease.

While one side was cheerful, on the other, Malfoy's face was so grim it looked like water was about to drip from it. The louder the applause in the Great Hall, the more bruised his face felt.

He knew that the older Slytherins had been unhappy about losing the Quidditch match and the House Cup last year. They just hadn't said much out of deference to his family and status.

Because indeed, before them, Slytherin had won for six consecutive years, which meant that the six years above them in Slytherin were simply stronger than the other three Houses.

Yet last year, they lost everything to Gryffindor, with the main reason being Hermione and Harry from their own year.

So, as the representative of Slytherin in his year, he naturally had to bear this burden.

If his grades could surpass Hermione's, and his Quidditch skills surpass Harry's, earning more points, they wouldn't have lost, even if Harry and his group had ultimately gained so many points.

"The House Cup must be won back, but not by him—by me, Malfoy!"

"Don't worry, he's just a joke. Time will prove that you are Slytherin's hope!"

Pansy's expression was also grim, but she wasn't at all worried.

Because unless George became exceptionally outstanding, even if his grades were decent, it wouldn't justify his speech just now, and the outcome was already predetermined.

"No choice. You brought this upon yourself."

After leaving the Great Hall, George continued exploring the ground floor.

As a Slytherin without the backing of a prominent family, to gain fame and attention quickly, he had to be conspicuously brilliant and not hide his talents.

As for whether doing so would make Dumbledore think of Voldemort, it wouldn't go that far. He hadn't shown any signs of disliking Muggle-born wizards, and he had openly acknowledged his friendship with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and others.

So, Malfoy's provocation actually provided him with a perfect opportunity to state his position and establish his persona; otherwise, it would have been difficult for him to say it so openly.

In fact, if not for this purpose, he could have completely ignored Malfoy's taunts. After all, the other party couldn't do anything to him.

Besides the Great Hall and the Waiting Room for the Sorting Ceremony, there were actually many other rooms on the ground floor.

For example, the Staff Room specifically for the academy's teachers, Filch the caretaker's office, the Transfiguration classroom, and some other temporary classrooms.

After exploring the first floor, he ascended the marble staircase to the second floor.

The second floor mainly housed the History of Magic classroom, where he would have class in the afternoon, the Head of Gryffindor's office, and the Hospital Wing, which was managed by Poppy Pomfrey, who specialized in healing magic.

There was also a girls' lavatory.

The third floor contained the crucial Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office and Moaning Myrtle's lavatory. That lavatory led to the Chamber of Secrets. George didn't enter but merely observed from outside.

The fourth floor contained the Charms classroom, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Trophy Room, and the Armour Gallery.

The Armour Gallery had many animated suits of armor. When he passed by, he was fortunate enough to witness two suits of armor fighting. The cause seemed to be one suit of armor singing so terribly that the other couldn't stand it any longer.

He was very interested in this magic that could imbue inanimate objects with sentience. If used in the mutant school later, it could add considerable defensive power to the school.

There was also another important place on the fourth floor, or rather, for him, it should be the most important.

That was the Hogwarts Library, renowned for housing tens of thousands of magic books and countless forbidden books unavailable for purchase outside. It closed at 8 PM every night.

The fifth floor contained some abandoned classrooms and a co-ed lavatory.

The sixth floor also had some abandoned classrooms and a lavatory reserved for prefects.

The seventh floor contained some unoccupied offices and the boys' lavatory.

The eighth floor contained the Head of Ravenclaw's office, the entrance to the Gryffindor Tower, the entrance to the Divination classroom in the North Tower, the entrance to the Ravenclaw Tower, the entrance to the West Tower, the entrance to the Headmaster's office, and the Room of Requirement.1

G2eorge knew how to enter the Room of Requirement, but he didn't go in.

In his opinion, most of Hogwarts Castle was likely under Dumbledore's surveillance. Suddenly entering the Room of Requirement would be highly suspicious.

Crucially, he didn't need the Room of Requirement right now.

He also had no immediate plans to interact with Voldemort's Horcrux hidden within the Room of Requirement.

After touring the castle, he also walked around its perimeter, visiting the greenhouses and gardens for Herbology, the flying broomstick practice grounds, and the Quidditch pitch.

All scouting completed, it was already noon. He didn't go any further to Hagrid's hut or the Forbidden Forest but returned to the Great Hall to eat.

This time entering the Hall, he was clearly no longer invisible. Many young wizards secretly pointed at him and whispered, some admiring, some envious, some disdainful, and some maliciously waiting to see him fail.

George was unfazed by this.

He also encountered Harry and the others who came to eat after their classes.

Hermione showed him the exquisite button she had transfigured from a beetle in Transfiguration class. Ron was in a terrible mood, and Harry told him it was because Ron had received a Howler from his mother after he had left that morning.

In the afternoon, George, carrying his History of Magic textbook, began his first class at Hogwarts.
