Rex walked out of the store, saying, 'Thank you, Joy.'"

"'It's the least I can do,' Joy said, her head bowed. 'I'm sorry, Rex. Because of me, you might have the Hatchet Gang after you.'"

"'This isn't your fault,' Rex shrugged, dismissing the threat. 'Don't worry, they're no match for me.'"

"'Don't be careless, Rex!' Joy's face was etched with concern. 'I know you're strong, but what if they use a gun next time? Please be careful!'"

Joy's words brought Rex down to earth. He realized his arrogance was misplaced. 'You're right,' he said. 'I shouldn't be so arrogant. Thank you.'"

"Joy grinned. 'I should get back to Rand Enterprises. We need to take precautions after this attack.'"

"Rex nodded. Before they parted ways, he exchanged contact information with Joy, saying, 'If you need anything, don't hesitate to call.'"

"'Alright, I'll be going!'"

"'I'll get you a cab.'"

After Joy left, Rex turned back to the store and saw Colleen waiting. He raised an eyebrow, saying, 'Colleen! What brings you here?'"

"'What did you say?' Colleen interrupted, pointing at Lorna. 'What kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into, Rex? You're making me regret bringing Lorna here!'"

"'I'm not the one to blame!' Rex exclaimed, raising his hands. 'Didn't you see Joy leave? The Hatchet Gang is after her! I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time!'"

"'Hatchet Gang?' Colleen frowned. 'Who's this Joy?'"

"'Joy Meachum, co-director of Rand Enterprises, and Danny's childhood friend. I thought you knew her!'"

"'I'm not that familiar with Danny to know his childhood friends!'"

"'Rex, I know you're capable, but don't you think you're getting in over your head with these wealthy people? They have enemies everywhere!'"

"'Colleen, I know you're Lorna's Sensei, and I understand your concern for her safety,' Rex said. His tone shifted. 'But you're not my Sensei. You can't come here and tell me what to do!'"

Colleen was taken aback by Rex's sudden assertiveness. She stared at him, realizing that he was a far cry from the young man she had known years ago.

"'Lorna is part of Lee's Chinese Restaurant,' Rex said. 'I'll do everything to protect her. If you trust me, you shouldn't worry.'"

"'He's only 19,' Colleen thought, surprised by his maturity. 'Did losing his parents make him grow up so fast?' She said, 'I trust you.'"

"Rex nodded and turned to Lorna. 'I have to go. People will be here to fix the door. You supervise them.'"

"'Okay, boss,' Lorna nodded, though she was still confused. One phrase echoed in her mind: 'I'll do everything to protect her.'"

"Rex noticed Lorna seemed a little different, but he didn't dwell on it. He turned to Peter, saying, 'Peter, go to the kitchen and get some buckets of water to clean up the blood.'"

"Peter sighed, reluctantly heading to the back of the store. 'My first job, and I'm cleaning up a crime scene,' he muttered. 'Not a good start.'"

"Rex gave his employees their instructions, then grabbed his phone and headed out. He hailed a cab and used Google Maps to navigate to the address he had in mind."

"When Joy mentioned the pier, Rex remembered the Yangsi Gonshi, the Hatchet Gang from the MCU. They were based in Brooklyn."

"Rex remembered the address from the series. Colleen had pronounced it correctly, one of the few words Danny Rand's actor got right. His accent wasn't exactly authentic..."

"Rex arrived at the Yangsi Gonshi headquarters and walked in. He effortlessly subdued the guards, then said, 'I want to see your boss.'"

"A moment later, a middle-aged Chinese man emerged, followed by two familiar faces – the gangsters who had fled his store."

"'Boss, that's him!'"

"The middle-aged man, Hai-Qing Yang, motioned for the gangsters to be silent. 'My name is Hai-Qing Yang. May I ask for yours?'"

"'Of course, you're most welcome,' Rex responded politely. 'My name is Rex Lee.'"

"'Half Chinese? Born in the United States?' Yang asked. Rex nodded. 'Very good,' Yang continued. 'It's rare to see people your age who still speak traditional Chinese.'"

"Rex waved his hand, cutting off the pleasantries. 'Boss Yang, I'm here to solve this little problem we have.'"

"'Oh?' Yang smiled, then burst into laughter. 'So you're here to say it was all a misunderstanding and we should just forget about it?'"

"Rex smiled confidently. 'Trust me, Boss Yang. By the time I'm done, you'll be thanking me for what happened today.'"
