Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 189: C136(2)

After chatting for a while, Hermione suddenly asked, "Godfather, the Quidditch World Cup is coming up. Let's go watch it together!"

A few days earlier, Ron had invited Hermione and Harry to attend the World Cup with him. Harry had agreed immediately, but Hermione hesitated—she wasn't sure if Kain would return in time.

Now, it seemed her decision to wait had been the right one.

"If you want to go, we'll go," Kain replied. "I'll ask the Department of Magical Cooperation if they have better seats available. Do your friends need tickets as well?"

Hermione beamed. "I'll write to them and ask right now!" She dashed out of the room, taking Kain's teacup with her as she left.

Meanwhile, Kain's potion material shop was on track to become the top supplier in Europe, cementing itself as a regular partner of the Department of Magical Cooperation.

Although Minister Fudge had been swayed by others to introduce policies aimed at curbing the shop's expansion, Guy had hired people to launch a relentless public relations offensive.

The principle of "money talks" worked wonders. Recently, Kain had instructed Guy to rent a long-term ad spot in the Daily Prophet.

They now used an entire page every day to criticize Cornelius Fudge, publicly lambasting him for his actions.

This holiday, Hermione stayed home for two days before heading to Diagon Alley. Kain later took her to the Romanian Dragon Training Farm for a few days.

While there, he injected a dragon egg with a gene serum prepared by Orochimaru, including dragon DNA. The egg hatched in Romania during their stay.

Raising a dragon privately was illegal, but Hermione had no intention of reporting her godfather.

Besides, during their time in Romania, she witnessed a magical side of Kain she hadn't seen before: his extraordinary affinity with fire dragons.

Even the most ferocious Hungarian Horntail in the training arena behaved docilely around him, nuzzling its head against him like an oversized pet.

Thanks to Kain, Hermione didn't get to ride his phoenix, but she did ride a fire dragon. Flying high above the ground, she took numerous photos, drawing envious looks from the dragon trainers.

For many of them, simply touching a dragon was a feat. Hermione, however, had already become a "dragon knight" within days of her arrival.

After a week of adventures in Romania, Kain and Hermione returned to England. By then, the charmander egg Kain had been incubating had hatched.

This charmander was a hybrid infused with the genes of a white snake sage, courtesy of Orochimaru's experimentation. Kain wasn't sure how large it would grow, but he had prepared in advance.

To house the creature, he had created a pocket solidified with an Untraceable Extension Charm. For this, Kain visited Newt Scamander and expanded the pocket to the size of a city, simulating various weather conditions inside.

When Scamander learned of Kain's plans to raise a fire dragon, he eagerly supported the idea. Scamander had once dreamed of raising a fire dragon for research, but their strength as adults made it too difficult to manage alone.

The most powerful magical creature he had kept in his case was a thunderbird, but failing to raise a fire dragon had always been one of his regrets.

After returning to Diagon Alley, Kain received an unexpected visit from Dumbledore.

Seeing him, Kain raised an eyebrow. "Professor Dumbledore, to what do I owe this visit? Is it about Sirius?"

"That matter has been resolved," Dumbledore replied. "Although Cornelius was reluctant, most members of the Wizengamot were willing to accept the truth. I'm here for another reason."

From his pocket, Dumbledore produced several old, weathered parchment books. Kain's sharp eyes quickly noticed the name Nicolas Flamel on many of the covers.

"After reading your reply, I remembered these books that Nick gave me," Dumbledore said. "He didn't want the art of alchemy to be lost. If you're interested, Professor pent, these notes are yours to study."

A flicker of joy lit up Kain's eyes. The notes of the greatest alchemist in wizarding history were a rare and precious gift.

"Professor Dumbledore, I deeply appreciate your generosity. Is there anything I can do for you in return?"

"I have faith that you, Professor pent, will master alchemy well," Dumbledore replied with a small smile. "After all, 'equivalent exchange' is one of the principles of alchemy."

With that, he moved on to his main purpose. "Hogwarts will be hosting the Triwizard Tournament next semester alongside two other schools. Unfortunately, our current Defense Against the Dark Arts professor is unable to continue teaching. I hope you'll return to the post.

"Truthfully, you've always been the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Lupin only served as your assistant last year."

Kain nodded. "Of course. I'll return to Hogwarts at the start of term. Hermione, come in—the tea is getting cold."

As Kain finished his conversation with Dumbledore, he used magic to open the door. Standing outside was Hermione, holding tea and snacks, her face flushed.

The aroma of tea wafted into the room, making it clear she hadn't just arrived.
