Marvel : Deadpool Is My Best Friend

Chapter 145: Chapter 145

Bonus Chapter

-------------

Over the skies of Hell's Kitchen,

"Look, I'm not underestimating you," Alex Ray said calmly, his tone filled with confidence. "I just used a little strength, and you already can't handle it."

His words darkened Carol's expression. She hadn't expected that this seemingly unremarkable man possessed such terrifying power.

"I don't know what the hell Nick Fury is thinking—he actually considers you my trump card," Alex continued, his voice matter-of-fact, not mocking, simply stating the truth.

Although Carol was seething internally, she was powerless against Alex Ray's overwhelming might.

At that moment, Carol shouted desperately, "Ikaris! If you don't intervene, I'm going to die!" Her voice rang with helplessness and frustration.

Just as she finished speaking, another figure soared into the sky—it was Ikaris, one of the Eternals.

Clad in silver-white battle armor, he descended like a god, radiating a divine and invincible aura. His arrival reignited hope in Carol's heart, which had been on the brink of collapse.

Alex raised an eyebrow, his expression flickering with curiosity as he stared at the newcomer. "An Eternal?" he muttered, voice laced with surprise, as if shocked by their sudden reappearance.

After all, the Eternals hadn't been seen for over 400 years. Anyone with knowledge of their existence should have died long ago.

Carol and Ikaris were both shaken by Alex's reaction.

They never imagined that Alex Ray—a man with no public profile—actually knew of the Eternals. Who exactly was this man? His strength, his confidence, his knowledge—it all stirred deep curiosity and unease.

"Who are you, and how do you know about the Eternals?" Ikaris asked solemnly.

His tone was edged with suspicion and wariness. The Eternals had kept their presence hidden from humanity for millennia. How could this man know about them?

Could he be a mutant?

Alex caught the look in Ikaris's eyes and chuckled, shaking his head. "Come on. I'm just your average Hell's Kitchen resident."

His voice was light, indifferent to their alarm or disbelief.

Then Alex added, "Didn't the Eternals receive orders from the Celestials not to interfere in human conflicts? Aren't you afraid of being punished for jumping into this war?"

There was a trace of irony and reproach in his tone.

"But I guess this isn't your first offense. Years ago, one of you—Druig—intervened in a human war," Alex sneered.

He clearly held no respect for the Eternals. In his eyes, they were just a bunch of arrogant entities who used their strength to do as they pleased, utterly indifferent to the fate of humanity.

Ikaris stared at Alex, stunned. How could he possibly know so much about their past? No one else should know these things. The more he learned, the more unsettled he felt.

"Enough talk—let's fight," Carol snapped coldly. Her voice was emotionless, cutting off any further conversation. In a flash, she lunged toward Alex like a bolt of lightning.

Seeing her charge, Ikaris pushed aside his suspicions for the time being.

Now wasn't the time to dig into Alex's identity. He had to first understand the man's true strength.

He followed close behind, unleashing a powerful assault on Alex.

"Even with the two of you, you're no match for me," Alex said calmly.

His eyes held a quiet, unshakable confidence—as if no force in the world could truly threaten him.

The battle erupted with shocking intensity. Each clash between them reverberated through the skies, shaking the very air with its force. Their energy pressure was suffocating.

Their fighting techniques and raw power had reached near-divine levels. Every move was as swift and fierce as lightning, with thunderous impacts.

Their figures wove and collided through the sky, painting a violent yet awe-inspiring spectacle across the dark canvas above Hell's Kitchen.

The battle didn't just shake the ground below—it lit up the entire night sky above Hell's Kitchen with terrifying brightness.

The deafening sound of their fight echoed overhead, loud enough to be heard even over the gunfire that constantly rattled the neighborhood.

"Damn it, how's anyone supposed to sleep with that racket?" an old woman grumbled as she stepped onto her balcony, cursing into the heavens.

Anyone who could sleep peacefully in Hell's Kitchen had to be either deaf—or a complete lunatic.

"Shit, who the hell is fighting up there? That noise is insane," a gang member muttered in shock, staring at the aerial clash.

Despite being in the criminal underworld, this was the first time he'd witnessed a fight of this scale.

"Who else could it be? It's gotta be our Lord of Hell!" said a Hell's Kitchen resident, awe flashing in his eyes.

To him, Alex Ray wasn't just a protector—he was a symbol of hope. A hero. A god.

"You bastards, how dare you gang up on our Lord of Hell! You think Hell's Kitchen doesn't have backup? Let's go, everyone! Wipe these bastards out and stand with Alex!"

A middle-aged man shouted, brandishing a submachine gun as he led a charge into the chaos.

Elsewhere, Tyler Vongola—Vongola I—watched the battle above with burning resolve in his eyes.

He turned to his fellow Guardians and said, "Let's give it everything we've got. We can't let Alex outshine us."

"Damn Alex Ray, he's so strong that even Carol can't take him down! Good thing she called in reinforcements," Nick Fury growled, his expression grim.

If Alex couldn't be eliminated, then all their plans would fall apart.

Alex was the linchpin—everything hinged on defeating him. Carol and Ikaris had to push harder.

"The Lord of Hell is ridiculously strong. If he wanted to destroy us, he could've done it already. Maybe he's not as bad as the federal government says," a bystander murmured, staring up at the sky.

The comment was like a stone thrown into still water—it rippled through the crowd.

People started to question: Had they misjudged the Lord of Hell?

But those doubts didn't last long. A deafening chant soon rose, drowning them out: "Destroy Hell's Kitchen! Defeat the Lord of Hell!"

As the aerial battle raged on, and their strength tested one another's limits, Ikaris gazed at Alex with an expression of disbelief.

"With your power, you could go anywhere, rule anywhere. Why stay here and protect these people?" he asked, genuinely puzzled.

Ikaris' expression didn't waver, but there was a flicker of surprise in his eyes. "I heard you like making friends. Why not stop here and become one of us? I could introduce you to other Eternals. The people down there... they're not worthy of your friendship."

—Alex Ray—didn't answer immediately. The temptation was strong. With the power of the system, he could quickly absorb the abilities of all the Eternals, becoming nearly unstoppable.

But that wasn't what he wanted.

His gaze swept across Hell's Kitchen. Every corner, every street was filled with his family—his chosen people—fighting for him, fighting for their home.

Lifting his head, Alex's voice was firm, resolute:

"My friends are the family I choose with my own hands."

"How could I abandon them? How could I just leave?"

With those words, the silver-white aura around him flared suddenly. The Ultra Instinct granted by the system awakened fully inside him.

The aura was gentle like moonlight, yet burning like a fierce fire. It spread outward, casting the night sky in a radiant silver glow. It was as if the stars themselves had descended to shine upon the earth.

Alex's hair turned completely silver-white, flowing softly in the night breeze, shimmering with a sacred and powerful light.

He had become terrifyingly strong.
