Konoha: Uchiha's Two-Way Travel in One Piece

Chapter 52: The Three Village Army Already Outside Uzumaki Capital

-----

Inside the Hokage's Office

As soon as they entered, Utatane Koharu couldn't help but question Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"Hiruzen, what's going on here?" she demanded.

"Didn't we already plan everything out? How did it end up like this?"

"Not only did Lady Mito lead the Senju to provide reinforcements, but even the Uchiha joined them?"

The most troubling part was that the Uchiha seemed to have aligned with the Senju and Lady Mito.

"This is not a good sign," Koharu said, her voice heavy with concern.

"Indeed!" Mitokado Homura echoed, casting a questioning glance at the Third Hokage.

"Ugh," Hiruzen sighed, lighting his pipe with deliberate slowness. As smoke curled upward, frustration etched deeper lines into his face.

"It was all planned, yes, but something went wrong."

"We didn't anticipate that the Uchiha's intelligence network would be so efficient. Somehow, they received word of the upheaval in the major villages and the turmoil in the Land of Whirlpools almost simultaneously!"

"They immediately gathered their elite and reached out to Lady Mito. This completely disrupted our plans."

"What's worse," Hiruzen continued grimly, "Lady Mito had even begun suspecting me, thinking I deliberately withheld information and delayed action, intending to let the Uzumaki Clan perish!"

(A/N: "How dare she think of me like this?")

In the end, the relationship between Konoha's leadership and Uzumaki Mito, as well as the Uzumaki Clan, was bound to decay even further.

"The Uchiha?" Koharu's brows furrowed deeply as she processed the sequence of events. Her voice turned grave.

"There's something off about this."

"The Uchiha reacted too quickly!"

"The Senju, too, were remarkably fast to mobilize!"

"If they had only just received the news, there's no way they could have assembled their elite forces and set off so swiftly!"

"I suspect that during Lady Mito's last meeting with the Uchiha, they secretly formed an alliance."

"Lady Mito likely entrusted the Uchiha with monitoring the movements of the major villages and any signs of trouble in the Land of Whirlpools.

"The moment something happened, the two clans would join forces and mobilize their elite for a rescue!"

"That must be it!" Koharu concluded firmly.

At her analysis, Hiruzen and Homura exchanged glances, both drawing a sharp breath.

"It's likely true," Hiruzen muttered, his expression darkening.

"It seems Lady Mito has been allied with the Uchiha for some time now."

"She's stopped trusting us completely!"

At this realization, Hiruzen's face grew even grimmer. Yet, he couldn't help but reflect—whose fault was this, really?

They had already acted against the Senju for years, scheming in the shadows, and now even contemplated standing idly by as the Uzumaki Clan faced annihilation. How could Lady Mito ever trust them again?

"It's obvious," Koharu said coldly, crossing her arms.

"So, what's our next move?"

"Currently, most of the Senju and Uchiha elites have left the village. Shouldn't we do something?"

Her tone carried a chilling edge, and her eyes gleamed with malice.

"No!"

Both Hiruzen and Homura vehemently shook their heads, staring at Koharu as if she had lost her mind.

"They've only left the village to assist the Uzumaki Clan, not died," Hiruzen snapped.

"Moreover, half of the personnel from the ANBU and Root divisions have joined the reinforcements. We don't have enough loyal forces left in the village to attempt anything drastic."

"Even if we could, the consequences would be catastrophic!"

"For now, we should focus on strengthening the village's defenses to guard against any possible enemy attacks."

"That's it. Get back to your duties," Hiruzen said, effectively dismissing them. He felt Koharu's earlier suggestion was far too reckless.

"Fine, I was just saying," Koharu said nonchalantly, shrugging as she turned to leave.

The Akimichi Clan

"Tsk, tsk! It seems Lady Mito has lost all trust in Hiruzen and his group," Nara Shikayama remarked with a chuckle.

"She'd rather ally with the Uchiha than place any faith in them."

"Well, you reap what you sow," Akimichi Torifu said, shaking his head.

"They've gone too far in targeting the Senju over the years. It's no wonder Lady Mito has stopped supporting them."

"This time is no different. If Lady Mito hadn't allied with the Uchiha in advance, they might not have even heard about the Uzumaki Clan's predicament until it was too late!"

"Sarutobi Hiruzen and his group have truly shown how heartless they are. They were ready to let the Uzumaki Clan be wiped out," Torifu added, his tone filled with disdain.

"From now on, we'd best tread carefully around them," Shikayama said, clearly aware of the gravity of the situation.

"Understood," Torifu nodded. After a moment of thought, he added, "At this rate, I don't think Hiruzen's faction will hold onto power for much longer."

"With this incident, the bond between the Uchiha, the Senju, and the Uzumaki Clan will only grow stronger. Who knows? The Uchiha might actually produce a Hokage one day!"

If it were the past, Shikayama might have felt apprehensive about such a possibility. But now, he found himself reconsidering.

With the recent changes in the Uchiha, perhaps having one of them as Hokage wouldn't be such a bad thing.

"Come to think of it," Shikayama said, his eyes lighting up, "if an Uchiha becomes Hokage, they might actually bring some benefits to the village, like better medicines or other resources."

Hearing this, Akimichi Torifu and Yamanaka Yuya nodded in agreement.

"You might have a point," Torifu agreed thoughtfully.

"The Uchiha's pride might drive them to bring substantial benefits to the village if one of them becomes Hokage."

---

Four Days Later, in the Land of Whirlpools

After four days of relentless travel, Lady Mito and her group finally crossed the sea and reached the borders of the Land of Whirlpools.

The scene before them was chaotic.

Refugees were fleeing in all directions, and the land bore heavy scars of battle. Corpses littered the area—many of them red-haired Uzumaki Clan members, their striking hair unmistakable even from afar.

"This is bad! The enemy has already breached the Land of Whirlpools!" Lady Mito exclaimed, her face darkening at the sight of her fallen kin.

She immediately issued orders. "Let's move! Head to the Uzumaki capital at once!"

"The signs of battle here are no older than half a day. The capital has powerful barriers, so it may still be holding out!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

Without hesitation, the group accelerated toward the capital.

---

The Uzumaki Capital

"Kill them all!"

"Hurry, retreat into the barrier!"

"Ahhh!"

Within the Uzumaki capital, chaos reigned.

The heart of the city was now enveloped in a massive barrier. Desperate Uzumaki members fled toward its safety, pursued relentlessly by enemies from the three great ninja villages.

Some made it into the barrier, but many others were cut down before they could reach safety.

Hours later, outside the barrier, the invading forces had slaughtered most of the remaining defenders.

At the frontlines, the Third Raikage, Third Tsuchikage, and Third Mizukage stood together, flanked by their elite units, their forces ready to break through the final defenses.

Looking at the barrier, their brows furrowed deeply.

They had already tried to break through this barrier earlier.

The result? This thing was far tougher than they had imagined—completely unbreakable from the outside in such a short amount of time.

"What do we do next?"

"By now, Konoha must've received word and is likely sending reinforcements, right?"

The Third Mizukage couldn't help but voice his concern.

"Heh! Not necessarily."

The Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, floated mid-air with his arms crossed, sneering. "You say that because you don't understand Hiruzen Sarutobi well enough."

"That man might not even care if the Uzumaki Clan is wiped out."

"Otherwise, after all the activity we've stirred up in Uzushiogakure over the past month, why hasn't Konoha made any moves?"

"Frankly, they're probably hoping for the Uzumaki Clan's annihilation."

"Similarly, the Uzumaki Clan might not even want to ask Konoha for help!"

Ōnoki had dealt with the Third Hokage enough times to have a fairly accurate assessment of his personality.

"Is that so?"

The Third Mizukage's eyes flickered at this response.

"We should just focus on breaking through the barrier as quickly as possible and grabbing what we came for," said the Third Raikage, his deep voice resonating. "Sarutobi Hiruzen might not care, but don't forget—Uzumaki Mito isn't dead yet!"

"With her around, Konoha will definitely send people to aid them."

"We don't have the luxury of wasting time!"

Underestimating the enemy was never wise.

"You're right."

Ōnoki nodded knowingly.

After a brief discussion, the three leaders dispatched their subordinates to launch a frenzied assault on the barrier.

---

Inside the barrier, within the palace of the capital…

In a large square stood Uzumaki Ashina, positioned at the barrier's core. Around him, several clan members were working tirelessly to maintain the barrier.

At that moment, Uzumaki Ashina couldn't help but feel deep regret.

"If I had foreseen this, I would have heeded Lady Mito's advice and moved to Konoha sooner!"

"My pride and short-sightedness blinded me… I never expected this disaster."

Beside him, another Uzumaki elder shook his head.

"There's no point in dwelling on that now. Moving to Konoha wouldn't necessarily have been a good thing either."

"Have you seen how far the Senju Clan has fallen over the years?"

"And who could've predicted that the three great ninja villages would suddenly unite to launch a surprise attack on us?"

"This is just fate."

"How's the evacuation going? We don't have much time left. With the intensity of these attacks, the barrier won't hold out for much longer."

Regret was useless now. The priority was figuring out how to preserve as many lives and as much of their clan as possible.

Uzumaki Ashina nodded.

"It's all been arranged. Aside from those of us staying behind to maintain the barrier and buy time, the remaining few hundred clan members have been split into five groups and sent through different escape routes.

"I've directed one group toward Konoha, but the others are heading elsewhere.

"I don't intend to put all our eggs in one basket. Besides, I don't trust Konoha completely, especially with Lady Mito's time running out."

This ordeal had taught him a painful lesson: dispersing the clan was the best way to ensure its survival.

"That sounds reasonable."

The elders nodded in agreement, raising no objections.

"Wait! The enemy's attacks have weakened!"

An elder's voice cut through the tension.

"It's Konoha! I can feel a formidable chakra signature drawing closer—one that is unmistakable. It's Lady Mito..."

"She's leading reinforcements to save us! We're saved!"

A younger elder, using the Kagura Mind's Eye, exclaimed with excitement.

The others were stunned before their expressions turned to joy.

"What? Are you sure?"

"Positive!"

The elder nodded confidently. "It's not just Lady Mito—I can also sense the life force of the Senju Clan. And wait, there's more—it's the Uchiha Clan!"

"Huh? Why are the Uchiha here? And so many of them?"

"This chakra… such immense and sinister power, paired with their Sharingan. Incredible! All of them have awakened their Sharingan, with the weakest at two tomoe!"

"This group of over a hundred are undoubtedly the Uchiha's elite forces!"

Even though the other reinforcements included some ANBU and Root ninjas with less distinct traits, the elder could still discern clans like the Inuzuka and Aburame among them.

"What? Not only are the Senju and Lady Mito personally here, but even the Uchiha? Is this for real?"

The Uzumaki present were stunned and overjoyed.

Another elder, also using the Kagura Mind's Eye, confirmed, "It's true! Lady Mito and the reinforcements have already engaged the enemy!"

"Clan leader, what should we do?"

All eyes turned to Uzumaki Ashina.

After a moment of thought, he said, "You all stay here and continue maintaining the barrier."

"I'll gather the remaining elites who haven't evacuated yet."

"If it's true that Lady Mito and the others have come to help, we'll coordinate with them to crush the enemy from both inside and out!"

The others had no objections.

Ashina handed over control of the barrier's core to the head elder and left to rally the remaining elites.

---

Meanwhile, outside the barrier…

Uzumaki Mito led Konoha's reinforcements, clashing fiercely with the elites of the three great ninja villages.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

"Water Style: Wave Surge!"

"Sharingan: Genjutsu!"

In an instant, the enemy forces abandoned their assault on the barrier to focus on Konoha's onslaught.

"Damn it! How could Konoha send so many elites? Has Sarutobi Hiruzen changed his way?"

Ōnoki grumbled in frustration.

As he spoke, he clapped his hands together, preparing to use Dust Release.

"Susanoo!"

Suddenly, a black Susanoo soared into the sky, transforming into a towering, nearly 100-meter-tall giant that loomed over Uzushiogakure's capital.

The colossal figure drew a blade from its side and swung it directly at Ōnoki.

The moment he saw the Susanoo, Ōnoki's heart sank, overcome with dread as memories of the psychological scars left by Uchiha Madara resurfaced.

Sensing mortal danger, he hastily dodged in mid-air.

Still, the sheer force of the slash created a windstorm that knocked him back.

"Boom!!!"

"Argh!!!"

Though Ōnoki escaped injury, the shinobi beneath him weren't as lucky.

Dozens were obliterated instantly, their bodies reduced to nothingness.

Among the dead were elite shinobi from Iwagakure, Kumogakure, and Kirigakure alike.

For a moment, the faces of all three Kage darkened.

"Gulp! Are you kidding me? That kind of power…"

The terrifying sight of the Susanoo shook many shinobi from the three villages. They stared at the massive chakra giant, their hearts gripped by fear.

This was beyond anything they could handle.

Many immediately distanced themselves from the battle.

Ōnoki steadied himself, staring at the figure within the Susanoo with a grim expression.

"You… you're Uchiha Jiri?"

"I didn't expect you to show up. Since when have the Senju and Uchiha grown so close to help the Uzumaki together?"

"Heh."

Uchiha Jiri smirked coldly. "That's none of your concern."

"Ōnoki, today, you're my opponent."

"Don't disappoint me. Show me what you've got!"

With that, Uchiha Jiri continued to manipulate the Susanoo, launching relentless attacks on Ōnoki.
