Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Finessing a Goddess

On Themyscira, the Amazon warriors were busy training and working when a sudden lightning bolt tore through the clear sky and struck Hera's divine barrier, shaking the entire island.

Everyone rushed outdoors. The ocean waters began surging in from all directions—but it wasn't the wind driving the tide.

"Great Mother Gaia, what's happening?" Queen Hippolyta stared at the growing vortex in the sky, stunned. Since Themyscira had become independent, she had never seen anything like this.

At the center of the swirling storm clouds above, directly aligned with the island's heart—

"Mobilize the army. Be ready to fight at any time!"

The warriors swiftly obeyed and dispersed.

Diana flew overhead like a giant eagle, scanning the trees below. She had been looking for Liu A'dou to challenge him to a rematch, so she was already close by. It took no time for her to burst into the ruins.

"Liu A'dou! What did you do this time?!"

She didn't even bother checking the situation before pinning the blame squarely on him.

But Liu A'dou was innocent. This wasn't his doing—it was Ada's awakening of her microcosmos that had triggered a resonance with heaven and earth. Clearly, her talent far surpassed his own.

Liu A'dou's own journey had been full of accidents and miraculous encounters—first awakening the Eighth Sense through near-death, then stumbling his way toward a self-made version of the microcosmos. His method wasn't exactly traditional.

Ada, on the other hand, had learned directly from Liu A'dou. Through his teachings, she grasped the essence of the microcosmos and awakened it in a pure, orthodox form.

The celestial phenomena now unfolding were because her microcosmos had connected with the divine energy channels of the gods—drawing their attention.

The Olympians mistakenly thought another demigod had been born on Themyscira.

The bolt of lightning was Zeus's way of halting any rash descent of the gods. On Mount Olympus, a girl with radiant eyes and porcelain skin stepped forward and addressed Zeus:

"Father, I sense this disturbance on Themyscira is tied to me. Please allow me to descend and investigate."

Zeus looked at her, pondering the request. At last, he nodded. "Go. And while you're there, check in on your brother, Ares. See if he's truly repented."

"As you wish, Father." The girl turned and transformed into a beam of divine light, descending toward Themyscira.

The golden ray pierced the clouds.

Queen Hippolyta's expression shifted to alarm. That was divine light—used only when a god descended. It hadn't appeared on the island for over a thousand years. Unable to remain still, she personally donned her armor and rode toward the light's landing point. Friend or foe—she had to confirm it herself.

At the center of the radiance, Diana stood tense, staring at the figure shrouded in golden light.

What was this being?

She had never seen a god in person.

Liu A'dou, meanwhile, was speculating about their arrival. Judging by the flashy entrance, this had to be one of those old-school Earth deities. But what was their goal? Likely something to do with Ada's microcosmos—but they'd have to speak first before he could be sure.

The girl within the golden glow opened her eyes and instantly spotted Ada, who was still meditating.

She nodded slowly.

Never mind power—Ada's beauty alone was enough to win her over. And the presence she emanated felt oddly familiar. The more the girl looked, the more she liked her.

As the light faded, the girl's full appearance was revealed.

She wore a white base dress, overlaid with gleaming gold armor and a matching helm. No more than seventeen or eighteen, she had deep brown eyes that sparkled with intellect and compassion. Her facial features weren't individually striking, but when put together, they formed a calm, elegant beauty—a classic, radiant maiden.

So familiar.

Diana stared. That serious getup, that golden armor, that scepter in her hand—it matched the books exactly.

"...Athena?" she whispered, stunned.

Liu A'dou's ears perked up. Oh damn, he thought. It really is Athena.

Here's my chance.

"Athena, goddess," Liu A'dou said without hesitation, "have you come... for my wife?"

He shamelessly referred to Ada as his wife—even though they'd just started dating.

Athena turned to look at Liu A'dou. Her divine senses should've picked up his power—but his microcosmos, shaped by the Eighth Sense and his own peculiar path, had become so subtle and natural that it gave off no trace at all.

As the goddess of wisdom, Athena didn't rely on vision. She preferred sensing the essence of things. That way, she wouldn't be fooled by appearances.

But this time, she was fooled.

Because Liu A'dou's non-mainstream microcosmos lay completely beyond her perception.

"This woman who holds the power of the cosmos—is she truly your wife?" Athena's voice was youthful and pleasant, but it wasn't spoken aloud. It was a mental exchange. Athena didn't speak English, but for gods, language was never a barrier.

This was still the real world, not a comic book—so the idea that everyone in the universe magically spoke English was nonsense. Liu A'dou had learned multiple languages for the sake of thievery, though so far it was limited to Earth dialects.

"Yes, O Goddess of Wisdom," Liu A'dou answered solemnly, putting on his best show—because he was already scheming to get something from Athena.

Athena nodded, clearly satisfied with Liu A'dou's attitude. "Then tell me—do you know what she is doing right now?"

"Divine Athena," Liu A'dou replied, "my wife is in the process of awakening a power known as the microcosmos."

Athena gave a slight nod. She could sense that Ada had nearly reached the realm of the divine, far surpassing human limits. "Honest human, can you tell me what the microcosmos truly is?"

Liu A'dou laughed inwardly. This goddess is way too easy to bluff. Maybe it's because she's as young inside as she looks outside? He kept his expression sincere. "Goddess, this power my wife is awakening… I know little about it. Such a profound force—surely it must be a gift from you, no?"

Athena shook her head. Still, in truth, she had come down for the sake of Ada. Then Liu A'dou continued, "We husband and wife were stranded here on Themyscira, and the Amazons took us in. Now that she's received this divine power, we will devote it to protecting the earth from evil gods, in solemn gratitude."

Standing off to the side, Diana listened to Liu A'dou spin his nonsense, each line more ridiculous than the last. But she had to admit—he was brave to talk to a goddess like this.

Athena, however, was pleased. Clearly, one who could awaken such power could not be evil. Then Liu A'dou added, "My wife once told me of a dream she had. Now I believe that dream may be connected to the power she's awakening. If the great Goddess of Wisdom permits, I'd like to describe the dream to you."

"Please do," Athena said courteously.

"In my wife's dream," Liu A'dou began, "there were twelve warriors clad in golden armor. Each one represented a sign of the zodiac. These twelve fought beside a great goddess to defend the earth and humankind. Each of them was unimaginably powerful—able to punch through the sky and shatter the ground. They were called Saints."

He continued spinning, "That dream—she's had it for as long as she can remember."

Athena fell into thoughtful silence. Gods were not all-seeing or all-knowing. They were merely among Earth's earliest enlightened beings. The existence of gods didn't negate human talent. In fact, in ancient times, Athena had met human prophets whose foresight surpassed her own.

Could it be that Ada had dreamed of the future?

Athena pondered. Twelve Saints fighting beside a goddess. That goddess must be her. And Ada—she must be one of those Saints. But gold armor? That was unusual. The warriors of Mount Olympus didn't usually wear armor. Even her own was worn just for appearance's sake.

Then Athena suddenly remembered—long ago, there was indeed a brief moment when she'd been struck by an urge to forge golden armor. Was that impulse actually a divine omen?

In truth, what Athena experienced was déjà vu—something many people encounter. A strong sense that something is familiar, even when it isn't. Just a trick of memory, like a computer glitch during a search.

Twelve golden armors... Athena understood now. Her mission was clear: she had to prepare those armors and gather warriors to protect the earth.

The celestial tension slowly faded. At last, Ada opened her eyes, gazing in wonder at her own hands. It felt like she was holding the universe in her palms.

Athena looked at her with great approval. This—this was the power meant to protect the world.

"Greetings," Athena said warmly. "I am the goddess Athena. Will you become a Saint?"
