Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Genius

"This doesn't count." Diana couldn't accept the result of her loss. She wasn't Wonder Woman yet—just a pampered princess. In front of her mother, Diana demanded a rematch.

The cheers had died down. All the Amazons were now just buzzing with excitement over the strength the man had shown. A child born with such a powerful man would surely be exceptional.

Queen Hippolyta looked sternly at her daughter. "This was a sacred Amazon trial. The outcome was fair, just, and witnessed by all. Diana, you must accept the result."

"No." Diana simply couldn't accept failure.

The queen looked at her stubborn daughter. Refusing to give up is good. Refusing to admit fault—less so. "Haven't you realized yet?"

"Realized what? Are you saying the man cheated?" Diana immediately glared at Liu A'dou. "Speak! Did you cheat?"

Liu A'dou shrugged, looking innocent.

"Princess," one of the more knowledgeable attendants stepped forward, "he's wearing the Bracers of Heracles. Those are the heaviest bracers on all of Themyscira. It takes two warriors just to lift them."

What? Only now did Diana finally notice the bracers on Liu A'dou's wrists. They were indeed different from the rest—but she needed to try it herself to believe it. "Give me the bracers."

Liu A'dou said, "You didn't say please."

"Give. Them. To. Me." Diana's expression darkened.

"I'll give them to you—but stop calling me 'man.' My name is Liu A'dou," he said calmly.

"Just give them!"

Liu A'dou removed the bracers and handed them over. Diana's expression shifted the moment she held them. Her arms dipped from the unexpected weight—clearly, she wasn't prepared. She could still lift them, but it was obvious she couldn't have completed the competition wearing these.

Honestly, without Ripple, Liu A'dou wouldn't have been able to, either. Fortunately, Ripple constantly infused his cells with energy, keeping him going. In theory, humans never stop breathing—and as long as he maintained the special breathing technique, he could keep generating Ripple endlessly. In that sense, Ripple might be the most compatible training method for humans.

"Diana," Queen Hippolyta said gently, "admitting defeat is hard, but only by recognizing our shortcomings can we Amazons continue to grow stronger."

Diana looked down at the heavy bracers in her hands, then recalled her mother's words. "I understand. I was too arrogant before. From now on, I'll work harder. One day, I'll beat you. Man—no, I mean, Liu A'dou."

That awkward pronunciation made everyone flinch a little inside.

Queen Hippolyta smiled, then stepped into the center of the arena, raising her arms high. "Let us remember this man's name. The champion of this trial is—Liu A'dou!"

The cheers returned, louder than ever. Dozens of Amazons chanted Liu A'dou's name, albeit mispronounced, but it didn't matter. This was the victor's honor. Applause and celebration echoed across all of Themyscira.

As the winner of the competition, Liu A'dou was no longer under guard. He now had the freedom to roam the island as he pleased.

Countless Amazons tossed flirtatious glances his way, which left Liu A'dou flustered and overwhelmed. He soon gave up on sightseeing altogether and focused on training his microcosmos instead.

When he wasn't training, he spent time deepening his bond with Ada. Life was peaceful and satisfying.

Only one thing ruined it: Diana. The Amazon princess came to bother him constantly. It was exhausting.

One day, trying to avoid Diana again, Liu A'dou took Ada to a remote ruin deep in Themyscira.

"Ada-jie, today I'm going to teach you about the microcosmos."

Ada raised an eyebrow. She thought Ripple was already enough. "Didn't you say Ripple was vast and profound? Why are you switching to something else now?"

Liu A'dou replied, "Ripple is great, no doubt. But when it comes to raw destructive power in combat, it falls a bit short. That's where the microcosmos comes in—it's built for fighting. So I've decided: Ripple will be my foundation, but my main path will be the microcosmos."

"Alright then," Ada said, folding her arms, "so tell me—what exactly is the microcosmos?" She already knew she couldn't make sense of the chaos inside Liu A'dou's head, so she might as well be the student.

Liu A'dou cleared his throat. "Every person has a microcosmos inside their body. You can think of it as the source of human strength. Or, as a metaphor, a miniature universe made up of every cell in your body. Normally, we can't sense it. Very few people ever awaken theirs. But once you do—your fists can shatter the skies, and your feet can split the earth."

"Sounds impressive." Punching the sky, stomping the earth—it definitely sounded cool.

"Of course it's impressive. I'll teach you how to use it step by step." Liu A'dou picked up a pebble the size of a quail egg from the ground. "Watch closely." He twisted his fingers—and the stone crumbled into dust.

Ada's jaw dropped. That was impressive. She tapped a nearby chunk of the same stone. It was harder than concrete—tough enough that she'd need Ripple just to break it. But Liu A'dou definitely hadn't used Ripple. Crushing it with his fingers alone... the strength of the microcosmos was beyond imagination.

"That's not even an exaggeration. You could do this too. Once you understand the microcosmos, you'll realize that destroying something means targeting the atoms that make it up. These atoms form everything in the universe. You could say every object has its own microcosmos. I just used mine to crush the stone's."

Liu A'dou turned to her. "Ada-jie, once you understand how each thing in this world carries its own microcosmos, you'll be able to destroy anything."

"So how do I feel this microcosmos of mine?"

"Humans have five senses: hearing, sight, smell, taste, and touch. Some people count intuition as a sixth. But for those who train in the microcosmos, even six senses aren't enough to comprehend the universe. To perceive the origin of reality, you need the Seventh Sense—or even something beyond that."

A system steeped in philosophy, yet used for destruction—Ada found that contradiction a little unfortunate.

Philosophy—because the microcosmos was a measure of one's understanding of the universe, and of how one chose to exist within it. And yet, this philosophy was wielded as a weapon.

As Ada quietly pondered all this, Liu A'dou stared at her in awe.

He could feel it—a clear, powerful microcosmos was forming inside her. And it was happening way faster than his own. When he awakened his, he had to push himself to the brink of death. All he did for Ada was explain the basics—and she was already resonating with the Seventh Sense.

She was a genius. No doubt about it.

A once-in-a-century genius of the microcosmos.

The truth was, Ada already had a deep grasp of philosophical ideas. So when she applied that mindset to the framework of the microcosmos, there were no mental blocks at all.

And the moment her microcosmos awakened, the sky and earth responded. The surge of energy was even more intense than when Liu A'dou had awakened his own—so strong, in fact, that it caught the attention of the gods of Mount Olympus.
