Chapter 9: Noisy Rosalina: Raiding a Warehouse, Part 1
"I am going with you, my a*s. Does she even know the amount of effort I put into acquiring that level of information... and she just wants to leech off me? HELL NO!!!"
Ethan ranted as he paced up and down, continuing to prepare for his departure.
After coming back from school, he started planning out his stakeout and infiltration process, and as soon as he finished, he began packing everything he might need.
He was currently wearing his same Snake Eyes suit, but it had modifications that made it more flexible and secure, making it far more durable than before.
Ethan soon approached a black briefcase and opened it, revealing his Modified Oni Mask.
Besides it , was a small charcoal-colored laptop and a Blood USB.
He then lifted up his bed and noticed the guns he had stolen from Lilian's stash.
After a brief moment of hesitation, he took one and placed it in the briefcase.
'I don't want to take an innocent life, but those things are monsters... hesitation equals death.'
He packed everything up and headed to the garage.
Switching on the ignition of the car, he exited the garage however as he approached the gate.
Bam!
Ethan felt the car boot grow heavy and glanced back to check the issue.
The moment he saw what was wrong, he slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a sudden stop.
"OH MY... WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! I swear, you'll be the death of me! Why are you trespassing on my property, Rosalina?" Ethan roared, glaring at her.
Rosalina was perched gracefully on the car boot, her odd calm demeanor intact.
She chuckled softly and said, "I told you I'd go with you, remember? I was waiting on your rooftop...I was curious if you'd try to run away, and you didn't disappoint in proving me right."
Ethan opened his mouth to complain further, but before he could get another word out, Rosalina flipped effortlessly into the passenger seat.
Instead of continuing to argue, Ethan gritted his teeth, turned the ignition back on, and drove off in silence.
....
The highway buzzed with the familiar sounds of the city engines rumbling, faint honks, and the murmur of life spilling over from the streets.
The evening air was warm, and the glow of the setting sun softened the edges of the urban chaos.
Amid the steady flow of cars, a 1953 Nash Healey Roadster shot past, moving fast and weaving through the lanes with recklessness, standing out effortlessly in the rush.
"You're very quiet huh...why do you like to act nonchalant"Rosalina purposefully teased and continued:
"And why are you dressed in all black..you look like a vigilante... it's very concerning do you have Eight grade syndrome, are you part of the dark reunion"
Ethan simply kept driving ignoring her provoking tendencies, he kept quiet for a while until he asked:
"How did you find me, I made sure that immediately ran away as soon as I left school"
Rosalina simply chuckled and showed him a tiny string connected to her hand, Ethan was at first confused but after inspecting even more he understood what she meant.
'She must have placed this small bead on my cheek when she was whispering earlier. I know she can turn liquids into solids, but this isn't water...it can't stretch this far. Is it something oily or sticky? I'm so confused.'
Ethan simply looked at her with an annoyed gaze and said:
"When???"
"The moment you got your Stand, meaning..
the moment I noticed that you survived," Rosalina began, her hand gliding over the interior of the car.
"The 1953 Nash-Healey Roadster is good for its era, but it has small fuel reserves, usually running between 3 to 5 hours. It has the top speed of 100 mph (160 km/h)."
She paused, then added: "However, we've been driving for 2 hours, exceeded that speed, and the fuel gauge hasn't moved... what's going on with that?"
Ethan glanced at her, raising an eyebrow as he spoke: "You know about cars too?" Internally, he thought:
'Dammit, what doesn't she know... she's dangerous.'
"A little bit of this and that...my mother is a collector of vintage models, so explain"
Ethan felt his eyes twitch as he heard Rosalina, not only was she rude but she was also blunt and annoying... traits he found very unpleasant but he calmed as he began to explain.
"My mother used to be a business magnate and my father used to be a polymath R&D specialist so..."
"Umm...are you telling a backstory right now we just met and it's to early for this development,
we first need to be friends then you can take me out on a date... you're not even my type so there's also that problem "Rosalina paused for a brief moment and added:
"I hope that.."
"OH MY... You are so annoying what is wrong with that brain of yours, I am telling you the backstory of the car" Ethan interrupted as he slammed the steering wheel, he calmed down and added: " you interrupted me with that delusional nonsense...do you want me to continue or what"
Rosalina looked aside as her cheeks turned red with embarrassment and whispered:
"Sorry... Continue."
"Long story short, my dad used the original design of the car, but he replaced everything else, such as the engine, custom fuel system, etc. Technically, it's a modern racing car with vintage aesthetics."
Rosalina's facial expression shifted to one of bafflement as she looked at him and said:
"Isn't that expensive? Is your father so obsessed with cars that he would go this far... Are you that rich?"
"No. This car was made for me on my twelfth birthday, and my father had many cars better than this." Ethan paused for a brief moment, then added:
"I'm not rich... I'm wealthy but humble. There's a difference. Anyway, we're here."
Rosalina noticed that the car became quieter as Ethan adjusted the toggle switches, turning off the car's lights.
They left the main road and entered an open large grass field.
Rosalina glanced at Ethan, realizing his attire allowed him to blend seamlessly with the darkness.
She stayed quiet but noticed they were approaching a hill.
The car moved forward until it reached the edge of the hill, where, below, an old, large, abandoned warehouse came into view.
