Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Review Assessment

#U.A. High School – Faculty Conference Room

Time: Two days after Takumi Rei's assessment#

The sliding doors closed with a muted hiss as Principal Nezu leapt gracefully onto his custom chair at the head of the long oval table. He balanced his teacup, adjusted his tie, and glanced around the room with bright, intelligent eyes that missed nothing.

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice," he chirped. His tone was pleasant—but those who knew him well could hear the gravity beneath it. "I know such meetings aren't ideal, but matters like this are best relayed as early as possible. "

Seated around the table were Eraserhead, Present Mic, Midnight, Snipe, Cementoss, Hound Dog, and the ever-stoic Dr. Tanaka from the Hero Commission, who sat toward the end with her usual neutral expression and a sealed black case resting beside her.

Nezu took a delicate sip of tea. "Let's begin."

"Thank you got having me."

Dr. Tanaka reached into the case, produced a thick folder, and slid it across the table toward Aizawa, who opened it immediately. Several sheets of data, biometric scans, and still images from testing rooms stared back at him.

"We'll keep this brief," Tanaka said. "Subject name: Takumi Rei, formerly classified as a missing child, recently rediscovered through an identity confirmation following an unregistered Quirk assessment. Current legal age: Seventeen. Time of disappearance: Ten years ago."

"Hold on. Ten years?" King Vlad was the first to interrupt. "That's an awful long time for a boy to go missing."

"Indeed. What happened to him?"

"That's the reason for this faculty meeting." Nezu replied, his voice still having that same cheerful tone. "We don't know."

The papers were distributed to everyone in the room.

"Kenneth Takakura—or as he's now registered, Takumi Rei. Three days ago, we conducted a comprehensive quirk assessment on the seventeen-year-old. What we found was... unprecedented."

Midnight flipped through the report, her eyebrows rising. "These physical stats... are you sure these are accurate?"

"Completely verified through multiple tests," Dr. Tanaka confirmed. "Three-point-nine tons of lifting strength, seventy-six kilometers per hour running speed, reaction times under one hundred milliseconds, and bone density four times normal human levels. We have reason to believe he wasn't giving his all."

Cementoss whistled low. "Those are pro hero numbers."

"That's just the beginning," Dr. Tanaka continued. She unwrapped the black object she'd brought, revealing what looked like a simple rod about eighteen inches long. "His quirk appears to be composite in nature—three distinct abilities that work in perfect harmony."

She placed the rod on the table. "This is one of his quirk constructs. He can manifest these at will, and anything they touch becomes completely paralyzed and has their quirk suppressed for as long as the rod remains in contact."

Eraserhead's eyes sharpened with interest. "Quirk suppression?"

"Complete and total. We tested it on several volunteers with different quirk types. Physical enhancement, elemental manipulation, mental quirks—all completely negated on contact." Dr. Tanaka's expression grew serious. "But that's not the most concerning aspect of his abilities."

She pulled out a tablet and showed them video footage from the assessment. "He demonstrated what he calls a 'barrier' ability. Watch this."

The video showed Ken standing calmly as various objects were thrown at him—balls, water, even what appeared to be small projectiles. None of them made contact. They simply stopped several inches away from his body as if hitting an invisible wall.

"We tested this extensively," Dr. Tanaka explained. "Physical attacks, energy-based attacks, environmental hazards—nothing can touch him when this barrier is active. The effect extends in a perfect sphere around his body and shows no energy signature whatsoever. Our hypothesis is that this ability manipulates space itself."

"Well, that's kinda terrifying" Midnight uttered slightly as she leaned forward. "What's the energy cost? How long can he maintain it?"

"That's the problem—we don't know. He claims he's never tested his limits, and during the entire four-hour assessment, he showed no signs of fatigue or strain. His physical fitness seems to be an all rounded enhancement. Strength, speed, perception, even body healing. His endurance appears to be essentially limitless."

A heavy silence fell over the room as the implications sank in.

Eraserhead scanned the file. "These stats are off the charts. Physical output, Quirk synergy, tactical thinking. And you're saying he has no memory?"

"Partial memory loss," Tanaka confirmed. "Possibly trauma-induced. The only thing clear is his last three weeks in Musutafu. No origin story, no known training, no understanding of how his powers developed."

A heavy silence fell over the room as the implications sank in.

"So we have a seventeen-year-old with the physical capabilities of a top-ten pro hero, perfect defense against all known attack types, and the ability to completely shut down any quirk user he can touch," Vlad King summarized grimly. "And he has no memory of where these abilities came from."

"Correct," Dr. Tanaka confirmed. "Which brings us to why I'm here. The Commission wants him somewhere we can monitor his development and ensure he receives proper guidance. U.A. is the logical choice."

"The Commission's name for it is 'Multipath' for now due to the composite nature." she continued. "Though internally, some departments have already started referring to it as TRIVERSE..."

Midnight raised an eyebrow. "Catchy name."

"Not without basis," Tanaka replied.

Eraserhead leaned back. "And you're putting this in a school?"

"That's why you're being briefed," Nezu said. "He'll apply through a recommendation slot. Quietly. The Commission wants him monitored, trained, and integrated. And frankly, I agree."

"It's quite the combo. I doubt I've ever seen anyone with such a quirk before. Most are simply interconnected effects." Snipe whistled.

"Which is why we start with staggered integration," Nezu continued. "Interviews. Shadow term. Observational notes from his teachers. He may not be ready for direct classwork."

Hound Dog growled low in his throat. "No emotional grounding, no social training? That's a risk."

"Exactly," said Aizawa. "He's not just a power risk—he's a psychological one. If this kid unravels, people get hurt."

Tanaka gave a thin smile. "Which is why we've come to U.A. The boy's instincts are heroic. But instinct needs structure."

"And if it turns out he's not what he seems?" Cementoss asked quietly.

Nezu set down his teacup with a soft clink. "Then we prepare him for the right path. Or prepare for other outcomes."

No one spoke for a long moment.

Dr. Tanaka stood, collecting her folder. "We'll be monitoring him until the entrance exams. If he deviates, we'll know."

"Thank you," Nezu said.
