I Became The Vampire Progenitor

Chapter 234: Chapter 204-2: This Game Is So Fun, You Can Even Beat Up NPCs (Part 2)

Sinking Mist? The trio exchanged glances, clearly intrigued by the name.

"Sinking Mist? What the hell is that? A gang?"

HunYuan bent down and asked the fat merchant, whose face was now swollen like a pig's head.

Hearing this, the fat merchant grew even angrier.

"You damn refugees don't even know what Sinking Mist is and you dare to rob people?! This is a protection zone of Sinking Mist, one of the three most powerful factions in the Western District.

No one can afford to offend Sinking Mist. You'll all be hanged, I swear!!"

Still threatening them at a time like this? HunYuan immediately snapped.

"Screw this! What kind of crap name is Sinking Mist, what damn top three factions?! Brothers, beat him up!"

Pow! Pow! Pow!

The two players rushed up and gave him another solid round of thrashing.

They were players, brand new, sure, but what was there to be afraid of? A little robbery? Offending some underground faction?

What a joke.

After the satisfying beatdown, the three of them found themselves quite enjoying this new thrill.

Fourth Brother Cheng Kun, a bit hesitant, said, "Second Brother, Third Brother, should we still go find an NPC to change classes or take quests? I feel like joining an underground gang and doing some robberies might be more exciting."

Players had little in the way of psychological restraint. They came to play, whatever was fun, they'd do. Good or evil? These newbies just arriving in Glory didn't even think in those terms yet.

HunYuan looked thoughtful and nodded. "Not bad. Totally doable."

He patted the hefty stash of Copper Pucks in his pouch and gave the fat merchant one last look, reluctant to part.

Robbery was way more profitable than questing.

Thunderhands nodded hard. "I'm on board with that."

"So which gang do we join?" Cheng Kun asked.

All three turned their heads in unison toward the fat merchant.

"You tell us!!"

The fat merchant was on the verge of tears. He wanted to curse them to hell.

You beat me up, fine. Rob me, fine. But now you want me to guide your future path?

There's a limit to how much bullying one man can take!!

But after getting a taste of the players' iron fists, the fat merchant came to his senses.

These refugees were lowly, yes, but a merchant had to read the room. They had to know when to retreat, when to gouge their customers. This was the sacred teaching of the Goddess of Wealth.

He quickly began.

"There are three major powers in Green City's Underworld: Dark Pact, Demon Heart, and Sinking Mist."

His eyes darted around as he swiftly reverted to merchant mode. "Three mighty and handsome dragon-slaying heroes, you could consider joining Sinking Mist. There, you'll receive the finest training."

He looked at them with hopeful eyes. As long as they joined Sinking Mist, these damn refugees were dead men walking!

He'd paid protection fees to Sinking Mist for years and had connections with many 'big shots.' Killing a few newbies would be a breeze.

But of course, the trio weren't that easy to fool.

HunYuan's gaze turned cold. "Tell us in detail about these three factions."

The fat merchant was a little disappointed, but having adjusted his attitude, he didn't let his earlier beating show at all. He patiently began to explain.

"Sinking Mist is the strongest of the three factions. It's led by the great Fallen Warrior Gavin—an unbeatable force."

Still unwilling to give up, he kept boasting, "So joining Sinking Mist is clearly the best choice.

The other two factions are leagues weaker by comparison.

Especially Dark Pact. Their former president, Viscount Berna, offended Green City's protector, the great Transcendent Mage Locke, and has vanished without a trace.

Thanks to offending Majestic Locke, Dark Pact has been ruthlessly hunted by Green City's military, suffering heavy losses.

Most importantly, Dark Pact now has a new leader of unknown strength, Iro. This new president is quite mysterious and seems to be a Vampire. If you join, you might just end up as a snack for him."

The three didn't care about the fat merchant's implied threats. Instead, they exchanged excited looks.

Just listen to those titles...

Transcendent, Viscount Berna, Vampires, so high-class.

Who would've thought they'd encounter such top-tier intel on their very first day in-game? What a pleasant surprise.

They were already planning how they'd boast on the Glory forum later.

"So? What's the situation with Dark Pact now? And what exactly is a Transcendent? Who is this Viscount Berna?" HunYuan continued coldly.

The fat merchant's face went dark. What the hell, did this guy think he was the boss of Sinking Mist? How would he know all this?

But when he saw their fists, each one the size of a sandbag, he wisely chose to speak.

"Dark Pact is currently the weakest of the three major factions. Compared to Demon Heart and Sinking Mist, they're far behind.

As for Transcendents, all I can say is that Majestic Locke, the Transcendent Mage, is Green City's protector and the city's only Transcendent. His power defies description."

"Viscount Berna was the previous president of Dark Pact. I don't know his exact strength, but after offending Majestic Locke, he disappeared."

Hearing this, the trio exchanged glances again, their faces brimming with barely contained excitement.

This info was a goldmine. Learning so many secrets on Day One? Incredible.

"Second Brother, we have to make some forum posts after this, let those scrubs see just how awesome the HunYuan Thunderhands Cheng Kun trio really is!"

HunYuan nodded solemnly. "Very good."

"So, which faction do we join? Should we go with what this dead fatty said and join Sinking Mist?" Thunderhands hesitated. "I get the feeling this bastard's up to no good."

Cheng Kun scoffed, "Feeling? That's obvious. Let's keep asking questions. There's still Demon Heart, right? That name sounds pretty badass."

After their discussion, the three turned to look at the fat merchant, who had barely managed to sit up.

"What about Demon Heart?"

Hearing the name, the fat merchant's face showed a trace of fear. "Demon Heart, controlled by the Mind Eater Wales, is the most evil of the three major forces.

Because Wales possesses half-demon blood, his favorite thing to do after defeating enemies is to rip out their hearts and eat them fresh and dripping with blood."

The trio looked at the panic on the fat merchant's face and started to feel a chill.
