Chapter 32: Tsunade’s Punishment
In the end, Duy declined Chiba's offer to send him home and chose to leave on his own.
As Uchiha Chiba watched Duy's slightly swaying figure disappear into the distance, he couldn't help but feel curious. At first, he wondered why his Conqueror's Haki hadn't directly stunned Duy.
But soon, he figured it out.
Conqueror's Haki targets a person's spiritual will, and based on his understanding of Duy, he realized that Matt Dai's will was remarkably strong.
It wasn't surprising that Duy could withstand his Conqueror's Haki.
After Duy left, Chiba attempted to release his Conqueror's Haki again, but no matter what he tried, he couldn't successfully release it.
This left Uchiha Chiba feeling a bit disappointed.
However, he was relieved when he considered that this was probably because he had just awakened the ability and wasn't yet familiar with it. Didn't the Sun God next door also struggle to control his Conqueror's Haki after awakening?
With that thought, Uchiha Chiba felt a lot better and left the area.
After being out for so long, it was time to head home.
The Next Day
Chiba arrived at the Senju clan early in the morning. But unlike yesterday, Tsunade was already waiting for him when he arrived.
"Tsunade-sama, good morning," Chiba greeted.
"Good morning, Chiba," Tsunade responded. "Since you're here, let's begin today's class. By the way, just like yesterday, there will be penalties for getting more than three questions wrong."
Chiba nodded to show his understanding, but what he was really curious about was what Tsunade's punishment would be.
Soon, he found out.
After answering a few questions, Tsunade's smile grew brighter than the day before. However, there was a hint of mischief in that smile.
"Hey, Chiba, what's going on today? Yesterday, I only got two questions wrong, but today I've got twice as many wrong!"
Uchiha Chiba gave a helpless sigh. "Alright, Sister Tsunade, just tell me what the punishment is."
Tsunade straightened up and said seriously, "Ahem, let me clarify. The reason I punish you is to encourage you to study harder, not just for the sake of punishment."
Chiba couldn't help but silently complain. She had already told the truth and still needed to make up a high-sounding reason.
But the first part of her statement was indeed accurate. If he wanted to avoid punishment, he needed to study harder.
After all, he had been too caught up in his excitement after awakening his Conqueror's Haki the day before and hadn't reviewed the material at home, which gave Tsunade the chance to catch him today.
"Ahem. My punishment for you is to help me process these documents."
With that, Tsunade pulled out a box full of documents and placed it in front of Chiba.
"Sister Tsunade, are you really punishing me, or are you just being lazy?" Chiba asked with a strange expression, looking at the box, which was nearly half the size of a refrigerator.
Tsunade quickly defended herself, saying, "Nonsense, I'm a person of high moral character! How could I do something like that for personal gain?"
"Sister Tsunade, are you sure that 'high moral character' is the right term for you?" Chiba asked directly.
"Of course! I work hard every day, care for my family, and treat my fellow villagers in Konoha equally. Isn't that morally noble?" Tsunade replied proudly.
Uchiha Chiba silently complained again. "Hard work should be expected, not praised. And caring for your family... everyone knows you'd cry and faint in the toilet if you said that out loud."
However, the part about treating everyone equally was true. Tsunade was willing to teach Chiba medical skills, and that, he acknowledged.
Seeing that Chiba didn't argue, Tsunade looked even prouder. "Well, Chiba, if you have nothing to say, just admit it. I am a person of high moral character."
"Alright, I understand. Enough with the talking, Tsunade-sama. Just tell me how I can help," Chiba said, giving in. He knew it would be impossible to get out of helping Tsunade today, so he decided to just think of it as doing his future wife a favor.
"Well, let's not rush into it. We still have time to work on this in the afternoon. For now, let's practice Medical Jutsu," Tsunade said, secretly pleased that she could be lazy again today.
The two of them went to the room from yesterday and repeated their practice.
After finishing the materials Tsunade had prepared, it was time for lunch.
Chiba went to the kitchen and started cooking.
Just as he was chopping vegetables, Nawaki suddenly entered the kitchen.
Chiba stopped chopping and asked, "Nawaki, why did you come to the kitchen? Don't you have something else to do?"
"I'm here to supervise you. Yesterday, you cooked mostly green pepper dishes, and I didn't get enough to eat for lunch," Nawaki explained.
Chiba smiled inwardly. Nawaki must have been psychologically affected by his cooking. "Don't worry. Look, there are no green peppers here."
Chiba pointed to various corners of the kitchen as he spoke.
Nawaki looked around the kitchen, then opened the refrigerator and checked inside.
After thoroughly inspecting the kitchen, Nawaki turned to Chiba. "Looks like you're not lying. In that case, I'm relieved. I'll leave now, Chiba. You can get back to work."
"Wait a minute. You're already here, so help me out by washing the dishes," Chiba said, stopping him before he could leave.
"Uh, okay," Nawaki agreed, though a little embarrassed. He had come just to check on the food but now found himself helping out.
Suddenly, Chiba thought of a question. "Nawaki, who usually cooks in your family?"
"On weekdays, it's my grandma. On weekends, it's Kushina," Nawaki answered honestly, though he didn't understand why Chiba was asking.
Chiba nodded, thinking to himself. Apart from the Hyuga clan, no other family had servants.
Unlike the Hyuga clan, where the main house and branch houses were divided, the branch houses had the cursed Caged Bird seal to protect the Byakugan.
Servants in the Hyuga clan were those marked by the Caged Bird.
Lunch Time
During lunch, there was one more person present: Kushina, who hadn't been there the day before.
Chiba asked curiously, "Kushina, didn't you go meet Mikoto today?"
"No, Grandma Mito wanted to teach me the King Kong Blockade, so I didn't go," Kushina replied.
"The King Kong Blockade? Is that a secret technique from your Uzumaki clan?"
"Yes, Chiba. Do you know about it?" Kushina asked.
"I belong to the Uchiha clan. Of course, I know about it," Chiba replied casually, spreading his hands.
"That's right," Kushina said with a nod, and then returned to focusing on her meal.
Afternoon
Tsunade called Chiba into her room.
"Chiba, your afternoon task is to finish processing these documents. Don't worry, I'll ask Nawaki to help with it later."
