The Iwa Shinobi Village faced an even more unjust situation. They had no intention of participating in the war and were completely dragged into the quagmire of the Rain Country by Sand Shinobi Village and Konoha.

Additionally, there was constant friction between Iwa Shinobi Village and Cloud Shinobi Village. With the great enemy Cloud Shinobi Village watching closely, it was impossible for Iwa Shinobi Village to declare war and fire the first shot.

War could be fought, but declaring war was another matter entirely.

After all, the first party to declare war was destined to suffer losses.

While Sand Shinobi Village dared to make a move, Iwa Shinobi Village hesitated because of the overwhelming threat posed by the Third Raikage.

Over the years, conflicts between the Third Raikage and Onoki had escalated into ongoing skirmishes between the two villages. It became a cycle of tit-for-tat, day after day.

This explains why, during the Second Ninja War, Iwa Shinobi Village participated passively and quickly withdrew from the Rain Country.

The reason? The Third Raikage struck Onoki in the back.

For Iwa Shinobi Village, Cloud Shinobi Village posed the greatest threat compared to Konoha and Sand Shinobi Village.

Konoha refrained from launching foreign wars without careful consideration. Although Sand Shinobi Village and Iwa Shinobi Village disliked each other, neither side had the resources or confidence to initiate a large-scale war. Their mutual poverty was the fundamental deterrent.

In contrast, the Land of Fire was a land of riches, practically radiating opportunity.

During the Third Ninja War, seeing a chance, Onoki launched an attack on the Land of Fire without hesitation.

Cloud Shinobi Village and Mist Shinobi Village only launched probing attacks. With the death of the Third Raikage and the meteoric rise of Namikaze Minato, these experiments came to an abrupt halt.

This highlights Namikaze Minato's significant contributions during the Third Ninja War.

Unfortunately, such a hero ended up surrounded by unfavorable circumstances: the Third Hokage and the elders clinging to power, Uchiha Obito's betrayal, and even his own disciples' mistakes. Since becoming Hokage, Namikaze Minato endured unrelenting misfortune.

He was betrayed by the Third Hokage, undermined by the elders, and backstabbed by his own student.

Even Hatake Kakashi contributed to the chain of disasters.

If Kakashi had not disclosed sensitive information, Uchiha Obito would not have been able to pinpoint the timing of Kushina's delivery. Without that certainty, Obito would not have dared to attack Konoha.

If Minato and Kushina had remained unscathed, the Uchiha massacre might never have happened. The couple held no prejudice against the Uchiha, and their strength would have forced the F4 (the village elders) to think twice before causing trouble.

To sum up, the root cause of Konoha's turmoil was Hatake Kakashi's inability to keep his mouth shut.

"Lord Shigeru, there's a special wounded person from the frontline battlefield. I need you to see them personally."

"Oh? What makes them special?"

In war, identities can become irrelevant—but only to a certain extent. Special individuals still warrant attention.

Stepping out of the rest room, Shigeru entered the operating room and glanced at the figure lying on the table.

Tsk. Speak of the devil, and his father appears.

"Ahem!!"

Hatake Sakumo, pale and coughing incessantly, was in poor condition on the operating table.

"Senior, did you encounter a particularly difficult enemy?"

Shigeru approached and examined Sakumo's injuries. Between coughs, Sakumo answered:

Hatake Sakumo's pale face reddened in embarrassment. Stripped down to nothing for a thorough examination, he struggled to maintain his composure.

"Ahem! Could you give me something to cover up?"

Shigeru, unbothered, responded curtly, "Sorry, I can't."

Turning to the nurses, he barked, "Why are you all standing there gawking? Haven't you seen a man before? Or are you surprised because the leader of the Hatake clan is older?"

The double standard was obvious—Jiraiya was called a pervert for his antics, but Hatake Sakumo's predicament entertained them.

Hatake Sakumo could only lie there, thinking, I'm exhausted. Just let the world end.

After clearing the room of spectators, Shigeru focused on Sakumo's injuries:

"Four stab wounds, fairly deep, and poisoned. Senior, you're incredibly lucky. Few can escape the demigod Hanzo alive."

Scythe wounds were far worse than regular ninja tool injuries, and Hanzo's poisons were infamous. Shigeru wasn't exaggerating about Sakumo's luck.

"Your speed saved you, Senior. The poison you inhaled is minimal. Please bear with the treatment."

The process involved neutralizing the poison, cleaning the wounds, and suturing where necessary. For larger wounds, medical Ninjutsu alone wasn't enough.

Afterward, Sakumo fell into a deep sleep. Handing him over to the medical staff, Shigeru returned to his rest room.

As for whether the handsome, wealthy Hatake Sakumo would be flirted with by the nurses? That was beyond Shigeru's concern.
