There are only a handful of Death Eaters, and Voldemort is also extremely proficient in Legilimency. Trying to hide your identity before Voldemort is just plain wishful thinking.

"I'm a Death Eater..." Snape looked at Andy with a piercing gaze.

Snape said slowly in response, "Bones is indeed more capable than Fudge. She has arranged for many Aurors and Hit Wizards in Azkaban."

"The Dark Lord originally wanted to win over the Dementors. But he failed."

It can be seen that Snape was in a pretty good mood when he mentioned this.

The Death Eaters were originally lunatics, and those who had been imprisoned in Azkaban for more than ten years were even crazier lunatics.

"Will the Dark Lord personally handle this?" Andy asked.

He walked to the Astronomy Tower.
